Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but looks clear outside and dry here in brackley this morning.
One thing I have noticed about myself , the iron Infusion I had a week ago is just starting to work .
Yesterday I felt the benefits of it going out .
I have read my schedule online as to tomorrows appointment , I spend roughly an hour with the anaestheist get rig up and go on the exercise bike for 10 minutes , I cannot have any caffeine related drinks prior to it either .
Today will get bus and have a couple of hours in Bicester.
Take Care,
Mick

Georgesgran sorry to hear your DD is still in hospital and being pushed from pillar to post.
I hope that she gets sorted and can get home soon.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and grey outside. Cornergran I hope you can resolve things easily. There are many struggling on the thread today and my heart goes out to you all.
Dgs1 didn't want to go to the park yesterday and just wanted to go home. I think he missed his mummy. So it was a short and sweet sleepover. I dropped him off and he was quite happy. He said he was poorly. Wee scone. I pottered about the rest of the day.
Today is my weekly visits to mum and then my friend. Then home to potter again. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a dull, damp NE.
Sister, who had a fall, spent six hours waiting to be seen yesterday. Apparently she has a fracture in her knuckles, common in boxers, she must have clenched her fist when she fell.
Shopping day today, SIL will come about 11am and we will purchase Sainsbury's finest for lunch, usually olive bread and a selection of meat and cheese.
One of DH's friends sent me a card yesterday, made me cry. How very kind of him to remember.
Slept better last night, at least I didn't have screaming nightmares.
Have a good day all.

Good morning from Durham. DD2 remains in hospital and whilst I have always refrained from criticizing the NHS - wonderful throughout DH’s final illness - things where she is are shambolic. Having got a bed at 3.20am on Tuesday morning, she was later moved from acute care to a Ward, but that was then deemed premature, so three moves yesterday, but having vacated a bed, there was never another available and she ended up on the trolley in a corridor for hours, where she had all her meals. Talk of discharge, but that was soon abandoned. I shall pop in later - hourly visiting slots only, but I’ve said I’ll babysit tonight, to allow her DH to go to football.
Hope others are having a better day than on the cards here.
Best wishes to all.

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire although looking like it will rain.

Meeting friends for coffee in the woods this morning - could be damp!

I had no problems with my booster but still struggling from my flu jab on Saturday!
LLFL I was found to have osteopenia caused by the medication I am on.

Greyduster is right Corner you sound very frazzled, take care.
Thinking of all who are under the weather and have concerns.

Gala Wed 19-Oct-22 08:13:52

Good morning all. Grey & gloomy here in Sefton but no sign of rain.

Zoom exercise dance class this morning. Then a "should do" day. I should finish the ironing, I should paint a couple of fence panels, I should go for a hair cut & I should definitely wield a duster. But I have a good book to read & a cross stitch to be getting on with. Decisions, decisions....

((Hugs)) for everyone today.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 7°C.

Mick, I'm glad to hear your are feeling a bit stronger.

Corner, my heart goes out to you, you seem to be torn in all directions. I hope you get a chance to rest today.

My bright idea of getting the bus yesterday, proved to be not such a bright idea.
One of the najjor roads in the town centre was being resurfaced and the bus routes changed. On top of that there were parking restrictions everywhere and I struggled to park.
I ^ jumped^ on a bus to be told by the driver, Hen, I don't go that way now!. I was so breathless by the time I got to the chemist, I couldn't speak. ( Silence is very rare occurrence). Much to my annoyance, I was told some of my prescription wasn't ready and I need to come back today. I got home, to find a text on my phone, saying my prescription was ready. ?
Standing in the bus shelter, I was approached by a young man. I felt quire apprehensive, until he kindly told me that all the buses had been rerouted! Cue another long walk to a working bus stop!
By this time, I had no energy left for a quick browse around the shops and much to DHs surprise, I arrived earlier home than expected. Of course, as happens after any exertion, I fell asleep, when I sat down!
What a disappointing day!

Today, DH is going to take me to the charity shop, to get rid of some heavy bags. I also need a couple of decorative pots for plants which DD gave me, but need DH to lift them. Unfortunately (for MrMD) , it is next door to TKMaxx. ? Speaking of TKMaxx, has anyone heard from Pants??

Grey, and any others, hope your hospital appointment goes well and that *Georgesgran's "DD is on the mend.
I will go back now and read all your news.
Have a good day folks.

Good morning all . A bit breezy by the looks of things.
Dh is going fishing, Dd popping in for coffee and old neighbour/friend coming for a dog walk.

Might walk up to the market and have a browse and get some fish from the fish van.

Taking little DGD to Beavers .

Choir this evening and that’s my day sorted.

Your post made me smile GM .
I remember a few years back I was at the checkout in a busy store. The lady serving me looked tired and I said ‘you’ll be glad to get home and put your feet up. ‘ Then I noticed she only had one leg! ??. ?.

Hoping you all have a good day.?

Grammaretto Wed 19-Oct-22 07:52:01

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The radiator has come on so it must be cold.
I am enjoying having heating and a new boiler that works
Yarn group today and a fairly gentle day for a change
Yoga yesterday followed by 3 hours volunteering at the community store was exhausting. I was given leftover soup so at least I didn't have to cook when I got home.

Cornergran you sound overwhelmed. I hope your difficulties are resolved.
I love your beach pictures Baubles

Good wishes to everyone.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. We finally ordered new lounge curtains yesterday. I ended up with 20 fabric samples and finally chose what we hope are the right curtains. They should arrive within a couple of weeks. I’ll say it quickly - green and gold! We are out for lunch with the U3A at a riverside place about 15 minutes drive away. Later, I have a bone density scan in Oxford. This will tell if I am heading towards osteoporosis or not and whether it’s mild. Later still it is our WI meeting. Someone will be talking about Colour in Art. She is from Keble College and has spoken before and is very good. I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all from an overcast Black country do not think the sun will appear today.
Well the car passed its MOT but nearly fainted when she produced the bill, there goes the winter fuel allowance it did include 2 new tyres which we knew needed replacing.
Pick up little one from nursery and then we have a carvery booked, we had a 50% discount sent would be rude not to use it.
Enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ?.

baubles Wed 19-Oct-22 07:41:24

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s dark and dry.

Glad you’re feeling the benefit of the infusion Mick, my mother used to get those and it made such a difference to her energy levels.

Sorry you’re having frustrations to deal with corner, hope you get it sorted soon.

We had an impromptu day out yesterday and took a run over to the coast. A beautiful beach walk then lunch at a favourite hotel, good for the soul.

Today daft dug and I are both having haircuts, our salons are almost next door to each other. My abundant hair has been falling out by the handful since I had surgery and is looking rather sad so I’m having a fair amount chopped off.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

ginny Wed 19-Oct-22 07:40:29

Good morning everyone.
Woken last night by a hedgehog in next doors garden. The security light was going on and off and who knew a hedgehog could make so much noise!
Also had to get up to take anti acid med for indigestion.
DGS3 will be here for a couple of hours this morning . This afternoon is craft club where we will be putting together the decorations from the packs I have made up.
Thinking of all with illness or worries and hope all have a good day with a smile along the way.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 19-Oct-22 07:40:17

Good morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

Enjoy a relaxing day today Mick before your busy day at the hospital tomorrow.

Cornergran and grandMattie ??

Enjoy your Leeds trip Grandmadinosaur hopefully retail therapy will cheer you both up.

We had a lovely time with DD and GDs yesterday afternoon so many cuddles and chat about their holiday.
We have GS after school today and DS staying for tea when he comes for him. I’m going to put some short rib and chunky veg in the slow cooker in a little while before I go off to the gym.

Enjoy your day and special thoughts to those worrying about family illness. ??

Good morning from a brightening Colchester. Another mild, dry day here.
I'll get another line of laundry out to dry before I walk into the City centre for the Wednesday coffee meetup.
A trip to Lidl after lunch and this evening we are using one of my birthday vouchers in a tasting restaurant that is just a short walk from home. I didn't know it existed until I received the voucher and it sounds expensive and intriguing. Will report back tomorrow.
Love to all ? x

brook2704 Wed 19-Oct-22 07:38:49

Good morning everyone from Inverness where I can just see the sky getting lighter, it looks clear so probably quite cold
Difficult times for your friend and goddaughter cornergran hoping things progress as best they can
Today I’m off for a Dancefit class at the gym, followed by a dip in the pool. Afterwards I’ll go across the road to Starbucks with my gym pal for a good catch up over lunch.
Sounds like my sort of shopping day grandmadinosaur - enjoy!
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

BlueBalou Wed 19-Oct-22 07:38:48

Good morning everyone, it’s dry here at the moment.
Very restless night so a quiet day for me, housework and sorting out for DS, DDIL and DGCs who are coming to stay on Friday.
DH has gone to DD’s for a few days to do some decorating.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Beechnut Wed 19-Oct-22 07:38:28

Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s grey and damp.

I never liked the sock pairing when we were all here. Too many of the same colour so I always bought novelty socks for myself to make it easier. Glad to hear you’re giving DL something to do Mattie.

A home morning for me and out this afternoon. I’ll then call by my friend for a chat if she’s home and pop a card through the letter box if she isn’t.

Have the best day you can all. I know what the day is when you do your happy hump Ash ???

Greyduster Wed 19-Oct-22 07:26:18

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s still dark in South Yorkshire. The heating came on very early this morning - I have obviously not set the schedule properly. Another job for today. I had a irritating afternoon yesterday when I contacted my energy provider regarding a simple matter and it turned into a marathon. It turned out that my smart electricity meter, which was newly installed last year, is not sending readings properly so it needs replacing. Not so smart, then! Then I went online to get a car insurance quote and fell through the floor at the figure I was given. Old bird, big car, no NCD, so it looks like that’s going to be an uphill task too. Fortunately I have a few weeks before it expires.
Today I have paperwork to finish doing - just notes really - in preparation for my hospital appointment tomorrow. At least I now know where the hospital is!
Corner try and find a few quiet minutes to yourself today, please. You sound pulled inside out.?
GM when my son was at boarding school, the task of sorting and folding socks was given out as a punishment. DS was quite good at it!?
Have a good day folks!

Grandmadinosaur Wed 19-Oct-22 07:06:49

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s still dark but dry.

I had a good catch up with friends at coffee yesterday. Just the tonic!

Today DH and I are going to Leeds. I’m looking forward to an actual shop in M&S as I have vouchers to use. I do miss not having one here as I still like there undies. Also I look forward to a browse in John Lewis.

Take care everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 19-Oct-22 07:03:47

Morning Mick and all

Still dark here in S E Essex. The 7yr old did not sleepover last night as he has caught The Imps tummy bug along with DD. We had lots of FaceTime yesterday so he could keep us informed of his bodily functions he did make us laugh. Poor DD was wiped out.

I am off to the gym this morning, then home to the ironing.

grandMattie you are a saint ?

Have your best day folks ??‍♀️

Kalu Wed 19-Oct-22 06:59:15

Good morning all, still dark in Glasgow.

I have a few things to do in Perthshire today, almost ready to go but waiting until a bit nearer sunrise.

Hope today is a good one for all.

Ashcombe Wed 19-Oct-22 06:47:22

Good morning all from a blowy Torbay with squally showers, which caused me to dream about driving in heavy rain!

The reordered new TV should be installed this morning, following the attempt on Saturday when the original wouldn’t work! Later a quiz at Wednesday Club which will be preceded no doubt by reflections about the recent loss of a wonderful member of Toads. His funeral is the day after my operation, unfortunately, but I know many others will attend.

It’s a shame to hear of yet more sacrifices you have to accept for the sake of your friend, grandMattie. A good idea to give her little jobs to do (I smiled about the socks!) It’s good to know the iron is taking effect, Mick and I hope your filling causes no problems, Jaxjacky, likewise your vaccinations, Sar53. It seems to depend on which type is given.

Happy hump day! ?????

cornergran Wed 19-Oct-22 06:47:00

Morning Mick, morning All. Another one with no idea about the weather, I’m tucked up in bed and it’s too dark to tell.

Disturbed night. Head like a washing machine on fast spin. Social Services are taking over care plans for our friend who remains in hospital, Our goddaughter is distraught. There’s no LPA in place so she has little influence. Our friend is now covid+ so visiting not possible. We escaped for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon, the sea front was mild and sunny, good to be out. Returned to discover a legal issue we thought settled is actually not. All a bit overwhelming as it has potentially serious repercussions.

Today is another day, onwards and upwards. Usual grocery delivery, some dust removal and a Patient Participation Group to attend at the surgery. First time I will have attended, was invited to join by the Chair, should be interesting.

I’m sorry your plans have been overtaken by the needs of your friend grandmattie, I hope she and her visitors are appreciative. Good that you feel stronger mick.

Thoughts are with those struggling, hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

.
