Good morning from a grey and damp NE.
Yesterday the rain was torrential all day and we got wet walking to the exhibition. My sister was struggling with her broken fingers and we had to help her with food and so on. Turns out she had hurt her back and leg as well in the fall, bad timing as they going away today to visit the GC for a week.
When I returned home late in the afternoon water was pouring down the walls in two places. BIL and I searched around and assumed that water was getting through the flashing on the pitched roof over the porch and music room.
My sister, in Germany, asked if my flowers had arrived so I had to go out in the rain and look for them. Courier had left the cardboard box by the bins, just as well she rang as it is recycling collection today.
I think we are going to have some respite today and then it is back to rain for the foreseeable.
Out to lunch in Durham with my friend today. We are going to make it regular thing so we can catch up with family news. Her DH and my DH were cousins.
Have the best day you can.

Morning from North Connel, home today after a lovely few days. The journey isn’t quite as scenic just now, missing out Inveraray and the dramatic scenery round the Rest and be Thankful road which is closed due to the danger of landslides.

DD is taking me into Oban this morning before I catch my bus, I just love the view out to Mull so a coffee while gazing will be nice.
I may or may not attach a couple of pictures of the local area!

Wishing everyone a good day ???

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It dreary in South Yorkshire this morning and promises to be wet later, just when I am test driving yet another car?. I just have to work out where we’re going to go to put it through it’s paces. Totally fed up with it now. My appointment went well yesterday so now I wait for a surgery date.
Have the best day you can everyone.

How nice to read that rain was siling down, Gwen. Not heard that since my dear late MiL died and I had forgotten that Yorkshire word.

Must menu plan and shop for DD and DSiL’s visit and make up beds. This evening I am going with friends to hear Melvyn Bragg talking at the Wells Literary Festival so much looking forward to that, especially as I am not doing the driving.

Good morning everyone from Inverness it’s just getting light and still looks quite wet
Today I’m off to try a new class at the gym followed by the Aqua class. That should keep me busy most of the morning and then I’ll get a bit of shopping in from Tesco
For everyone meeting family and friends - enjoy the special times
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning from Glasgow where it is quite light outside, wouldn’t exactly call it sunrise! Calm and dry at least.

Various things to do inside and hopefully, some time outside are my plans for the day so far…..
Enjoy your dog walk Chrissie. I remember those mornings when a peaceful walk with the dogs was a pleasure, no matter the weather.

Hoping a good day is ahead for all especially those with ongoing worries whatever they may be.

Good morning all from dreich Harrogate
Glad you had a good night GrandMattie it will make the day much easier.
I have little idea what I am doing today, I believe I might have DGD here, I’m hoping I shall have to go back to York hospital to pick up my hearing aid. Might have to take DGD with me - or I might just be doing housework!
Yesterday I finally succeeded in going to Leeds on the bus. The rain was siling down and the bus was leaking! But JL is a very short walk from the bus station so finally chose a washing machine which should arrive on Tuesday.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning from a dull and wet Black Country.

It was a drizzly walk yesterday in Kinver, there were about 15 of us. All trooped into a cafe where we almost filled the place. A good walk and chat despite the weather.

Made 2 crumbles and 2 Date and Walnut loaves in the afernoon. Have to make good use of the oven whilst it is on. Freezer is full now!

Housework this morning, then we are going to Birmingham this afternoon to check into Hotel as we are going to Symphony Hall to see Tom Chaplin (Keane). A meal out beforehand.

Home Saturday morning as MrJ is driving to Bristol to help his DD move. I will be meeting the family for a lunch as it is my Neices birthday today, so she is home for the weekend from London. DS and family cannot make it as they are flying to Cypris Saturday.

Glad your appointment went well yesterday Mick keep on with the excercise.

Wishing you all a pleasant day and a lovely weekend.

God morning from an overcast & dull Sefton. Looks chilly out there, dog walkers are wearing their 'big coats'.

Zoom dance class first thing then off out to Pilates.. Library this afternoon.Yesterday was very much a do nothing day. I definitely got sidetracked by Liz Truss' resignation & a very extended news broadcast.

Take care all.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 21-Oct-22 07:50:34

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s dark, damp and was foggy earlier.

It was indeed a stinker of a day yesterday. Glad to hear you had a nice day though Shazza
I enjoyed the show at the theatre. It was the story of the Osmonds and it was a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Loved it.

Today I have ironing to do. Might meet up with DIL for coffee and there should be a market on in the square here. If it’s on I’ll have a look there. GS is coming after school. I’m doing a little Halloween tea for him - hot dogs etc and I’ve bought some Halloween crackers and blowers. We will all be away next week hence doing it early.

Take care everyone.

Good morning from a brightening Colchester. The rain is due back later but it's quite mild.
No ill effects from yesterday's flu jab.
We pulled the washer dryer apart and cleaned it. It worked perfectly for one spin and drain and then gave up the ghost. I didn't have much luck when phoning repair people so I think I will treat myself to a new energy efficient machine.
DH is taking DGS2 (2 week half term hol!!) fishing today. I will walk over to Lidl to pick up the bits we forgot on Wednesday. I nearly slipped on wet leaves yesterday Urms.
Love to all ? x

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a misty Hull. What a stinker of a day weather wise yesterday it poured down.
Thankyou for all your good wishes yesterday. We had a lovely anniversary. As we were walking into the restaurant for lunch I realised I didn’t have my phone which has my debit card in so couldn’t treat DH in the end. He had to pay. ? I’ll give him the money back. Our meal last night at the casino was very good as well.

Today it’s yoga and picking up DGS from school. Tonight DH is out with his friends so I’ll taxi him there and back. I’ll watch a couple of The Crown while he’s out.

Enjoy your day if you can. Thoughts to those struggling with day to day challenges ??

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 21-Oct-22 07:30:45

Morning all from a dark West Oxfordshire. Yesterday didn’t quite go to plan. I had another migraine so wasn’t able to go to my friend’s. Not much on today. OH has a few things including a long dental appointment to fit a new crown. I just have to buy some petrol and then pop into the optician to get another spectacles case and have my spare pair straightened out after I squashed them! Another scan tomorrow - ultrasound - I expect I’ll be brooding on that. Have a good day everyone.

Urmstongran Fri 21-Oct-22 07:28:18

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Málaga where it’s just getting light. Himself is still snoozing so I’ve had to make my own first cuppa of the day. No particular plans have been formed but we will go out somewhere at some point.

I shall be reading the papers on line this morning. A lot happened yesterday!
?

Glad to hear your appointment went well Mick. Mind out for wet leaves on the pavements.

Enjoy Friday all who can. x

cornergran Fri 21-Oct-22 07:27:22

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet and windy corner of Somerset.

Out most of the day yesterday I must concentrate on my to do list today. Feel very weary.

Move as much as you can mick, it’s surprising how small walks add up. Pleased you had a good night grandmattie. Rebounders are great fun karmalady, loved using mine.

Take care everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Gingster Fri 21-Oct-22 07:26:38

Good morning all and it’s still dark here in Essex.

Book club meet-up this morning - I only finished the book late yesterday afternoon. It was ok but I rushed the last 50 pages. It dragged on and was rather padded out.

We’ll meet up with our Friday lunchtime pals and sit around the log fire. only a short while ago, we were sitting on the patio looking for shade from the hot sun.

I hope you all have a ‘good’ day. ?

Chrissielou Fri 21-Oct-22 07:19:41

Still dark but it seems mild in Oxfordshire again this morning. Working at home and have Sainsburys delivery at lunchtime then walk the dog for 90mins. I walk whatever the weather and love it.
Very glad its Friday though!

karmalady Fri 21-Oct-22 07:07:57

Good morning from s somerset, going to be an unpleasant wet day here

Exercise is particularly a problem during the many bad weather days until spring. I am now cluttering my hall with my rebounder with a T bar for safety. It has been in the garage since I moved 3 years ago, had been dismantled and behind a cabinet.

You get the picture, bounce bounce bounce to strengthen my bones. Later off on 30 mile round trip to a nice supermarket, I have a voucher to spend

Ashcombe Fri 21-Oct-22 06:50:56

Good morning, all, from a blustery Torbay.

I’m glad your test went well, Mick. Walking more is a challenge with the autumnal weather. I find early starts difficult these days, monk08, although I was regularly up at 4.30 a.m. to mark books in my working days! It's good you’ve had a much needed restorative sleep, grandMattie.

A busy day for me with a coffee date with two friends from the exercise class, lunch with two Toads friends then a quiz at The Little Theatre tonight. Phew!

Hope everyone finds something enjoyable today.

?????

grandMattie Fri 21-Oct-22 06:42:06

Good morning from E Kent,
Glad all went well yesterday, Mick.
I was exhausted yesterday and managed to sleep pretty well last night.
The physio was wonderful and not only gave DL a lot of confidence but also said that falling over was extremely common in amputees.
The social services were a bit less so, promising to send someone daily! That is not what DL needs while here…. I think the carer will be sent away.
This morning, I have a podiatry appointment in Canterbury. Although not right, my foot is so much better that it follows the old adage “it gets better, if you wait long enough “!
Have a contented day. Carpe.

monk08 Fri 21-Oct-22 06:36:48

Good morning Mick and all who follow from the Black country, still dark out but its dry.
Glad your appointment went to plan and keep up the walking.
Early start DS has asked if I can drop Dgs off to school as he has doctors appointment at 8.30 am.
Will catch up with everybody's news later.
Enjoy your Friday everyone and may you all find some ?.
