We don’t really do wedding anniversaries, apart from a card, (a blank for your own message sort as the words are usually too sloppy), but DH has scuppered any plans for even a lunch out by booking both a boiler service and a supermarket delivery on The Day!

Add some goodies and Champagne to the shopping delivery, then act delighted that he thought of it.
Ha! That’ll fox him.

Is the supermarket delivery in the evening , if not book a table at your favourite restaurant for that evening and say with everything going on you thought it better to eat out. Hopefully he is not pretending to have forgotten , perhaps he has booked a table already?

Nice idea but our favourite restaurant, and several others, are closed on a Monday.
To be fair, I am not that bothered, but the boiler service took me by surprise, especially with his record for not getting things booked.

Perhaps he's planning a warm, intimate night indoors...
Watch out!

I had my ruby wedding anniversary during the lockdowns, so no pubs, restaurants or anything open. My husband got me a card, that's all. I bought him a piece of jewellery (he doesn't like it). We went for a walk around a local country park
