Good Morning ,
Its dark but dry outside here in brackley this morning.
The day went to plan yesterday as to Buckingham and Bicester , today a quiet day at home ,and prepare my lunch in the air fryer today ,jacket potato and steak plus spinach .
Weight wise slowly creeping up , but felt very sprightly when walking yesterday shows iron infusion is working .
Take Care,
Mick

Queuing for the shower this morning as DD and DSiL are here till Tuesday which is lovely. Off to church to plough the fields and scatter, DD wants a walk later and a friend is joining us for supper so feels like a busy day.

Hope Marydoll feels a little better soon and that the day is kind to everyone.

Morning from S Lanarkshire, dry here at the moment so hopefully walk to church.

Youngest DGD is 10 today (I’m a tween now, granny) and is having a joint birthday party in their house, with a little Ukrainian girl who has joined her class. DD and SiL have made lots of preparations so I hope it goes well for everybody.
I’m taking her out for lunch tomorrow, just the two of us, and I’ll hear all about it then.

Enjoy Ibiza Grandmadinosaur, my friend has a flat there and says the weather is still lovely.

Glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better Mick, hope that continues.

Enjoy your Grandmabatty, your meal sounds delicious. I’m having my lazy Saturday night tea as my friends and I decided to have something to eat after our afternoon viewing yesterday of ‘Mrs Harris goes to Paris’, which we all enjoyed, a fairytale for grown up women!

Wishing everyone the best of days ???

Urmstongran Sun 23-Oct-22 08:54:54

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Málaga where it’s just light. The temperature now is 18°C rising to a balmy 26°C this afternoon. Lovely.
?

Himself has the American Grand Prix to watch at teatime so thinking ahead, yesterday I rang to book a table at 3pm today for a roast carvery dinner. It’s a very popular place, family run by Karen and Mike, open 20 years. They bought the two little units either side over time and the extensions gave a very contemporary result. They now employ more than a dozen staff and their success is well deserved. My mum used to love going there, in the early days. We will walk down to it, it’s in Montemar and get a taxi back up from the rank opposite (handy!).

Enjoy Sunday all who can. Your comment about your ‘free’ day’ made me chuckle Oops!

Lovely to see you back mcss you’ve got plenty of ‘random flamingoes’ now in your life.

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. It’s dry but cloudy here just now.

Good to hear you’re feeling better Mick.

Lots of you having grandchildren to stay, enjoy the fun and games.

Good wishes to those who are under par, hoping today brings some relief.

Welcome back Multi. ?

After I’ve been to church I’ll walk round to a favourite little restaurant where DH will meet me for brunch. No plans for the rest of the day other than crocheting Christmas angels for our yarn bomb group. I may do some more poppies just to switch things up a little.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Grandmabatty Sun 23-Oct-22 08:37:32

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° with some cloud cover. I'm glad you are feeling better Mick. Marydoll I'm sorry to hear how poorly you feel. I hope lying down will help you recover your Joie de Vivre. It's good to see you back Multicolour. I also liked the mention of Alizarin yesterday. I've missed her on the forum.
Housework and washings yesterday are all completed. I made stovies in the slow cooker for the first time and they were successful. I've frozen some for another day.
Today I'm making boeuf bourgignone in the slow cooker so that will do for dinner with mash and green beans. I need to use up plums so I'll make a crumble in the air fryer. No plans today. Have a good day all.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 23-Oct-22 08:37:10

Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate
Good to hear you have a spring in yours step Mick.
Sorry you are still feeling low Marydoll. Hope you are being waited on hand and foot!!
Think all your thunderstorms are heading up to Yorkshire probably when I set off for church!
Have a safe journey Grandmadinasaur, are you flying from Leeds/Bradford? Hope it’s after the bad weather.
Enjoy meeting those gorgeous babies Abitbarmy.
Apart from church, not much doing here
Have the best day possible folks.

Morning all from a misty damp S Yorks.

Today is Quakers and the gym and rather too much admin ready for tomorrow.

Mick good news on the getting stronger front.
Grandmadinosaur ooo, just the ticket, sun and sea.

Another envious on the steam train journey, I love them, takes me back to childhood holidays.

Wishing Earlies safe travel for self and families, good family meet ups, catching up on bad nights, and poorlies having a better day.

Good morning from Glasgow where we have such a beautiful sunrise, a sky of pinks, blues and white. No sign of rain or high winds, I may even spend some time pottering in the garden. To top it all, the leaves on the cherry trees are now crimson.

Possibly a Waitrose visit today, apart from that, the day is my own to take up my favourite pastime of foutering, F1 this evening.

Have a pleasant Sunday all.

Georgesgran Sun 23-Oct-22 08:27:20

Good morning from a damp Durham. Rain forecast but not as bad as further south.
DD2 was finally discharged from Hospital yesterday - thank you GNs for your good wishes. As yet, there are no plans for having the dressings seen/changed. Her car is still in the hospital car park, so I’ll retrieve it today. Might get some sleep later, as I’ve been worried sick all week.
Look after yourself Marydoll
Best wishes to all.

Gingster Sun 23-Oct-22 08:24:45

Good morning all from a wet Essex. No thunder storms here but after such a beautiful autumn, it does look dreary out there.

Eldest brother and his wife are coming for coffee and cake this morning. They are always good company !

Oh I can hear thunder rumbling! . Little pooch has just jumped off my lap.⚡️.

I got my crocheting bags out yesterday and found I had almost finished a small blanket made from squares, so I’ll continue with that today.
Gammon joint with veg in the slow cooker and apple crumble for later. Db will bring more apples from their orchard.

Welcome back Multi. No bickering allowed here. ?.

Glad you’re using your airfrier Mick . Sounds perfect for you.

Hope all poorlies /sleep deprived /worried have a better day. ?

ShazzaKanazza Sun 23-Oct-22 08:24:14

Sorry you are feeling so rough Marydoll. ?

Lovely photo multicolouredswapshop. Good Morning ?

Pantglas if you are reading Good Morning. Hope you are ok we miss you x

glammagran Sun 23-Oct-22 08:20:38

I was woken at 7:30 by what sounded like a steam train rushing through. Looked out of the window at a biblical downpour with the rain overflowing the curbs in our cul-de-sac. No thunder though.

Congratulations to abitbarmy on the birth of twins in your family. How lovely.

Knackered after 3 days of childcare last week. The local GC are fine individually but fight over absolutely everything when together. The schools around here appear to be having a 2 week half term. Since when was that a thing?

Flu jab yesterday. A bit sore but no real reaction I’m glad to say. Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 23-Oct-22 08:18:56

Welcome back multicolourswopshop ?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 23-Oct-22 08:17:30

Morning Mick and all

It’s raining heavily with thunder and occasional lightening here in S E Essex.

I was awake at 5am, couldn’t get back to sleep until gone 7am when I had a horrible dream that we were being invaded by aliens …

No plans, other than roast chicken this evening.

Safe travels to our galavanting grannies, and sending healing vibes to our poorly ones.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday?‍♀️?

Pittcity Sun 23-Oct-22 08:10:49

Good morning from Colchester where the sky is leaden. There's been overnight rain and the thunderstorm is supposed to be heading our way. 18° is forecast for later.
I will play with my new washer dryer and have a quiet Sunday. Roast Pork later.
Love to all ? x

Greyduster Sun 23-Oct-22 08:08:04

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a foggy, damp South Yorkshire. Glad you’re feeling better Mick but don’t overdo it. DH and DiL are coming down today in his new motor. I gave them the option of taking a rain check as the weather is forecast to be seriously awful here later on. We plan to go out to lunch but we’ll see what the weather is doing. - I have a fall back position.
Sorry you’re still feeling poorly Mary. I hope things improve as the day goes on?
Have the best day you can folks.

ginny Sun 23-Oct-22 08:02:52

Good morning all. We have had a few flashes of lightening and some thunder in N. Bucks.
Trying to find the enthusiasm to go into town. I need a few thing for an upcoming holiday and some craft items. Otherwise no particular plans today.
Hope Sunday is a good one for all.

multicolourswapshop Sun 23-Oct-22 08:00:45

Good morning everyone it’s good to be back with all the silly bickering behind me. Forgive and forget is my motto for the day. Well it’s absolutely peeing rain here today no gardening will be getting done himself has a sore back which will get better says the oncologist. The cancer has all but gone wear and tear on the spine though.
Keep going all my good friends tomorrows another day.

cornergran Sun 23-Oct-22 07:59:52

Crossed posts marydoll, please rest.

brook2704 Sun 23-Oct-22 07:59:15

Good morning everyone from Inverness where at last the grey misty weather seems to have changed and it’s looking a bit brighter
Enjoy your holiday with the family grandmadinosaur sounds lovely
Quite a busy day planned of housework, cleaning and menu planning getting ready for our visitors next week.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

cornergran Sun 23-Oct-22 07:58:37

Morning Mick, morning All from a very wet corner of Somerset.

Torrential rain and steam train sounding winds woke us around 3.30, no thunder fortunately. It looks calmer now. Didn’t get to the curtains yesterday, an afternoon of phone calls. Today is the day smile.

Those snuggly mornings are magic. Ours are long past, our Littlest is a huge 7 year old with elbows like razors and is no longer snuggly. Must get organised as he’s here for the day with his parents tomorrow, looking forward to that.

Grandmattie, hope today is quieter, perhaps declare your kitchen closed on Sundays. You do sound more energised, mick, enjoy the steak. A family day sounds just what the doctor ordered kitty, don’t overdo it, please. Hope you feel stronger today matydoll and you did rest yesterday. Safe trip grandmad and all travellers.

Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Marydoll Sun 23-Oct-22 07:49:58

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it's 12°.
Glad to hear you are feeling better, Mick.

I've had a bad night and am still feeling grim. I even did a Covid test yesterday, just in case.
My heart issues seem to be the cause, leaving me light headed and nauseous.
Unfortunately, I can do nothing, but rest (fat chance ?) and hope it settles down. Unfortunately, there is no available treatment, nor intervention for me.

A day of reading the papers, I think. GM, follow my example (?) and indulge yourself, you deserve it!

So many of you with plans today, enjoy!
Bluesapphire, I am green with envy! ? I love steam trains.Safe journey to Grandmadinosaur!
Going to Ibiza

Wishing you all the best of Sundays.

Abitbarmy Sun 23-Oct-22 07:43:02

Good morning all from a very wet and dark North Yorkshire. Thank you to all those GNs for yesterday’s congratulations. Have seen some lovely photos of the new arrivals and hoping to meet them in person today, GDs birthday party went well, chaotic and very noisy but we did it. Had a wonderful 9 hours sleep last night so feeling refreshed. I know exactly what you mean ShazzaKanazza, my GD is exactly the same when I’ve tried to sleep in her bed. She seems delighted with the news but will be interesting to see how she copes in reality as bound to get a lot less attention. Hope everyone has the best day they are able to.

BlueBalou Sun 23-Oct-22 07:36:26

Good morning from a very wet Wiltshire, I was awoken by thunder and lightning and I can hear the rain pelting down from my air bed. The DGSs are in my bed, I can hear them chatting; I’m very comfortable in my craft room with a coffee, the sleeping arrangements work very well! The boys enjoy watching tv in bed, a real treat for them ?, their parents get a lie in too.
A pub lunch is booked for today, so no cooking for me!
I hope it stops raining for DDog walk, wellies and raincoat ready!

Ashcombe Sun 23-Oct-22 07:33:15

Good morning from a calm Torbay. A late start due to a disturbed night…..

Like karmalady, we've had an horrendous thunderstorm overnight, the worst I’ve experienced since moving in eight years ago. Vivid lightning and deafening thunder started just before 3.00 a.m. with rain so torrential that the road turned into a river!

I wonder if your family members in Cornwall were affected by it, Oopsadaisy.

I’ll stagger to church then perhaps to M & S to collect new (boring for surgery!) bras later.

Every blessing this Sunday. ??✝️??
