Good morning from the NE where it is dry at present.
Had a busy few days and was really tired last night.
When the family were here on Saturday DS asked if I had a spare fir tree in the attic, we looked and I did have so one thing less for me to store.
Yesterday we removed the last of paperwork from the attic and sorted into recycling. Found quite a number of summer hats that had belonged to DH, new still with labels, so SIL took them. Found several rucksacks and two new pairs of walking boots, charity shop for them I think.
Why did DH'S boots stay pristine in the attic when my boots stored neatly in the wardrobe fell apart when I wore them on Friday ?
Take care poorly people.

Enjoying the company of DD and DSiL who have taken over the kitchen to excellent effect. I had asked a friend to join us for supper yesterday and a delightful evening ensued without me lifting a finger. I could really enjoy having staff! Will however need to sort the kitchen out properly while they are both out today.

I feel Marydoll’s frustration over the holiday, which I hope is postponed rather than cancelled. She needs something to look forward to. Lovely news about the twins. A more positive Monday than some we have had lately.

abitbarmy wonderful to hear DD and twins are home - I hope they go from strength to strength!?

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Wyllow has our South Yorkshire weather bang to rights - it’s dreary. I expected more rain yesterday than we got. DS and DiL came down in his swanky new motor raving about its many wonderful qualities. Well, he’s waited long enough for it - his old one was in its last legs - so I was very pleased for him and listened attentively! We went out to lunch and then his stepson joined us later for tea on his way down to Birmingham. They all got safely home before the deluge started here. Our road was flooded last night. A quiet day for me today (well they pretty much all are these days?). I have to go over to DDs later so hope it dries up.
Pitt my GS goes on his D ofE this week, sloshing round the Peak District. The weather will surely sort the men from the boys!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all and it’s dry here in Essex after torrential rain yesterday.
I picked up Dd and little gd from her swimming lesson and brought them back here for lunch, and had a lovely afternoon of playing charades. ?.

First day of half term here and we are heading up to our bolt hole in Suffolk tomorrow . Most of the GC are teens now so no need of Nanna. Littlest ones have a fun packed week of Halloween activities planned so we won’t be missed. How times change!

Not much on today, will walk the dog and read or crochet.
Enjoy the day ?

Good morning all from the Black country where it is dry at the moment, yesterday was nonstop rain.
Finished my book 3 more to go in the series .
Perhaps a small local shop just to get out the house after a day in but nothing else planned.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Monday and may you all find some ?.

Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.

I’ll catch up with everyone’s news later, this is a work day and I’m running late.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Wyllow3 Mon 24-Oct-22 08:22:00

Morning all from a very grey S Yorks.

Very tired as had a huge wodge of tricky admin last night to do and an early bloods at the GP, see if anything identifiable to help with CFS.... Solicitor business today re divorce, it's one of the new No Blame ones and hopefully drawing to a close.

Marydoll seems a wise if painful decision and all I can say granMattie is I couldn't begin to attempt to do what you are!

NanKate Mon 24-Oct-22 08:14:16

Good morning Mick and All.

Thank you Beechnut. We had a lovely lunch out yesterday and were discussing our wedding day 51 years ago. After the wedding we had lunch in the church hall next to Holy Trinity Church where Shakespeare is buried. Directly after lunch we were waved away to leave for our new home. We said how it is so much nicer nowadays that the couple stay with all the family and friends for a party. Having said that it was lovely to start life in our new home with deck chairs to sit on ?

So sorry Mary you are having to postpone your holiday.

Take it quietly today Kitty.

Good Morning everyone from a damp and dreary North Yorkshire. So we met the twins yesterday evening, they’re all at home now despite Mum having a caesarean and only 2 days in hospital. She’s determined to feed both at once which is very challenging and she needs help to do that from DS to place and remove both babes. They’re going to find it very tough especially for the six weeks or so it takes to recover from the op. We’re on standby to help in whatever way we can, the babies are beautiful. 4yr old Dgd seems to be taking it all in her stride. Take it easy everyone.

Beechnut Mon 24-Oct-22 08:01:55

Belated anniversary wishes to the NanKates ?

A beautiful photo Grandmadino

Beechnut Mon 24-Oct-22 07:59:23

Good morning everyone from Severnside where it is a grey miserable day with rain.
I had a lovely weekend with Beechnutella taking part in a preparation event that is happening in the village next weekend. We later had a lovely meal in an Italian restaurant where DD then forgot her PIN number. We spent the rest of the evening elbow deep in washing up water ? My journey home was dry thankfully.

Today I’ll do some washing, some medical stuff and my physio exercises.

Have the best day you can all ?☂️

Marydoll Mon 24-Oct-22 07:54:03

Morning all from a dark and cloudy Glasgow, where its 11°C.

Another quiet day is planned, MrMD has been very solicitous and has been spoiling me.
We had planned to go away next week for a few days to a hotel beside the Forth Rail Bridge, which had been on my bucket list, but DH rightly feels we should cancel it, as he is worried I will struggle.
I'm so disappointed, but I know in my heart he is right. ☹

I bought a jumper, which I really like, but it has enormous voluminous sleeves, which would enable me to fly, if I wanted to do so! ?
I'm going to try and take in the sleeves. That is my only task for today.

Ash, make the best of your last day of freedom.
Enjoy your day folks, whatever your plans.

Grandmabatty Mon 24-Oct-22 07:49:31

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and cloudy. I'm not sure what the forecast holds for today. Grandmadinosaur lovely photo. Have a good time. Brook you are a very fit and active person!
I didn't do much yesterday but pottered about. Today I'm off out early to take dgs1 to nursery as dd's car is in the garage. After that, I intend to do some garden tidying. Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 24-Oct-22 07:45:11

Morning all

Half-term here so we are busy, busy busy. I shall need a holiday by Saturday ?

Have your best day folks ?‍♀️?

ginny Mon 24-Oct-22 07:44:56

Good morning everyone. Overcast but not raining here in N. Bucks.
A day at home for me. DD3 will be bring their dog over as he is staying with us whilst they are on holiday. Our two DGSs will be with her so an hour of fun with them too.
Otherwise I’ll put a wash load on and do a bit of baking and probably some craft.
Hope this week is a good one for all, especially for those with health issues.

karmalady Mon 24-Oct-22 07:43:06

good morning from a very soggy s somerset

seems as though there will be a nice day ahead and I shall take things as they come. Back ups of knitting, reading and sewing, I love those hobbies

I sorted the pull out larder yesterday, was a satisfying job and I have enough food for winter, whatever happens

ShazzaKanazza Mon 24-Oct-22 07:42:06

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. I heard a lot of rain in the night.

We’ve just had a video through of GD opening her birthday presents. 4 today. She was funny yesterday. She chose the marble run we thought the V tech one would be good. Grandad put it together and she declared ‘is that it’ I think she was expecting one Six foot tall with 20,000 marbles.
At ours Grandad was dressing her and he said ‘why am I dressing you when you can do it yourself’ she said ‘I know Grandad but I thought it would be a nice treat for you to dress me’

Grandmadinosaur what a view. Enjoy your day exploring your resort.

grandMattie you are going to be ready for a holiday when your DL has moved out. ?

Hope Marydoll is feeling a little better today.

Have the best day possible and virtual hugs to those weighed down with stress. ??

brook2704 Mon 24-Oct-22 07:37:42

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark and looks rainy
Sounds like your getting very well prepared for your operation Ashcombe hoping the isolation isn’t too boring and all goes well later
I’ve a busy day planned today, a Zumba class at the gym and then a dip in the pool, a trip to Tesco and to round it all off a dental hygienist appointment. We’ve visitors arriving tomorrow, my stepson, his wife, step DGS and DGD, we’re looking forward to seeing them, we all get on really well. Oh and they’re bringing their dog too!
Beautiful photo grandmadinosaur thanks for sharing and enjoy your holidays
Oh dear Oops these things happen, hope it blows over quickly
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning from a damp Essex by the sea.
DH agreed to go to Stansted Airport to pick his daughter up yesterday evening. Her flight was delayed for hours and he finally got home at 05.30 this morning. I've left him sleeping.
Not a lot planned for today.
Best wishes to you all and have a lovely day xx

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 24-Oct-22 07:25:09

Good morning from a dark Oxfordshire, it was a busy day yesterday and due to an upset one of number went home. Sigh….
More of the same today.
Hope the sun shines on us all and hugs for those who aren’t so chipper.

Pittcity Mon 24-Oct-22 07:25:06

Good morning from a damp and blustery Colchester where it's just starting to get light.
It's half term so DH is off on Duke of Edinburgh award stuff. He'll be home tonight and then off again for a few days.
I have a quiet day today catching up on bits and bobs and will cook the first stew of the season for tonight.
Love to all ? x

Grandmadinosaur Mon 24-Oct-22 07:22:22

Try again

Grandmadinosaur Mon 24-Oct-22 07:20:59

Forgot to enclose a photo of our view yesterday evening from our balcony.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 24-Oct-22 07:19:53

Good morning all from Ibiza. It’s light with a pale blue sky and a warm day ahead.

We were met with that very warm plume of air as we stepped off the plane. When we went out for dinner last night it was still lovely and warm no jacket or cardigan required.

We’ve hired a car but with the 2 child seats we can’t all fit in so we are taking turns to make use of it. The family are using it today so a quiet day for us grandparents ?
We haven’t stayed at this resort before so we shall have a gentle stroll and explore.

That sounds like a fabulous day bluesapphire I’d love to do something like that.
Take care everyone.
