Good Morning Everyone ,
Its dark and its raining here in brackley at the present moment .
Yesterdays plan went according to what I stated I saw many changes as to HS2 and also the EWR with construction in full swing.
Buckingham town centre was quiet , I had a coffee at a cafe I had not been in for awhile , but Fish & Chips take away prices seem to have sky rocketed .
Today , I hope to go via Buckingham to Bicester , and then return direct with plans for a breakfast bap in my favourite cafe there if the past year is anything to go by they will be dressed in Halloween costume , prior to doing my usual routine .
Must remember the clocks go back tonight .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and All.

A grey day in prospect in South Bucks.

Come back to us soon Marydoll. ?

Well done grandMattie for laying down the house rules.

Happy Anniversary Ashcombe and Olddudders. I seem to remember you posted a photo of yourself in your lovely purple wedding dress. My favourite colour.

Off to see The Hound of the Baskervilles with Tom Baker as Sherlock, at one of the oldest small theatres called The Kenton.

kittylester Sat 29-Oct-22 08:27:08

We have a Sing it Happy choir. No need to be able to sing - just to join in and have fun.

We have fun singing at Fetes, on our local Heritage Railway etc. We are booked to sing at various Christmas Light switch ons and Christmas Tree Festivals.

And I can't sing.

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Happy Anniversary Ash and Olddudders?? fingers crossed bed available for tomorrow and all goes well ?.
Thanks for the update on Marydoll Shazza and hope your GS enjoys the party.
Haven't read through yet full English calling, will get back later although according to site stuff it will be down from about 9 for a few hours.
Enjoy your Saturday whatever your plans and may you all find some ?.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 29-Oct-22 08:14:14

Thank you Greyduster yes I will look into it when I get back. DH says I can’t sing but I think it’s more to do with his hearing!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 29-Oct-22 08:08:17

Morning all

Happy anniversary Ashcombe and olddudders hoping your procedure goes well Ash

This tummy bug is nasty little devil, if it doesn’t finish soon I shall be as slim as Twiggy.

I do hope MaryDoll is ok

Have your best day folks ??‍♀️

Good morning all from soggy South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday evening we had our covid and flu jabs and I’m not 100% this morning. Both arms and head are throbbing and I feel slightly nauseous. I’m supposed to be working later so have taken paracetamol and will see if it works.

Happy anniversary Ash & Oldudders.

Good wishes to those who are struggling with illness or worries.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

brook2704 Sat 29-Oct-22 08:03:09

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s grey and wet.
A very Happy Anniversary Ashcombe and olddudders. Hope you can celebrate in style when your operation is over and done with ???
Not sure yet what we’re doing today, the DGSs have swimming lessons first thing but we’ll probably go out after that.
Shazza, thanks for the update on Marydoll,so sorry to hear she’s unwell but hope from her today. I hope your DGS enjoys your GDs party and it all goes well.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 29-Oct-22 07:58:19

Good morning all from Harrogate behind the curtains
Happy anniversary Ashcombe hope you’ll soon be as fit as a fiddle!
Any news on the flat your DL is hoping to buy GrandMattie
Marydoll come back, we miss you, hope you feel up to it soon!
Yesterday had DGS in the morning , then had a bit to sort with my MacBook, but the worst problem was Sainsburies. Trying to get a Xmas slot and next weeks slot was almost impossible. I was on the phone to them 6 times. The first person I spoke to couldn’t understand English, I thought it was because I am deaf so handed the phone to DH, he couldn’t understand her either. Why do people like that work in a help centre? 30 minutes wasted. Tried again, this person did exactly what I was doing - failed. Then the interference on the line was too bad. Next time I asked to speak to a supervisor- there wasn’t one and this one couldn’t help. Next I demanded to speak to a supervisor, threatening to go back to Asda The manager would call back in an hour. No one called, I called back and this person has apparently sorted it out!! I’m scared to check it today !
Today I have a much waited hosp appointment this morning, but I am supposed to have seen a cardiologist before the appointment but haven’t. So don’t know if it’s just going to be a waste of time. This pm I’ve got a bit more sorting of the MacBook.
Have the best day possible folks

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s damp outside with rain forecast for most of the day.

I’ve some sewing jobs to do so I’m going to do that today and also potter about getting other things done. There is too many ‘I must do that’ lying about.

Happy Anniversary Ash and olddudders. Hope all goes well for your operation and you will have a bed Ash

Have a good day all ???

Wyllow3 Sat 29-Oct-22 07:51:24

Morning all,

Not sure about good, for the S Yorks bug that hit Greyduster seems to have resulted in few hours sleep here too.

Must have a get out tho so its the gym where I can do a little or a lot.

Well done for setting boundaries, grandMattie, essential.

Best anniversary in the circs, Ash and Olddudders.

Lots on the new recently about the cost of Fish and Chips which I dont get but do get "how much" moments on the fish counter.

Best for family meets: may ShazzaKanazza DGS have something he can take part in. My DGD is very disabled, it has altered what the family can do a lot. (she's one of four).

I just so wish they lived closer, its too long a drive for days out. But could be worse, some have DGC over the other side of the world!

Greyduster Sat 29-Oct-22 07:49:25

Grandmadinosaur my DiL is in a rock choir. They have great fun and get to sing at some wonderful venues. You should do it! No good for me; I can’t hold a note?!

ginny Sat 29-Oct-22 07:48:10

Good morning from N.Bucks where it is dull but dry .
First job today is to take the dog to the exercise field and then a small food shop. Not decided what else we’ll do for the rest of the day.
Good luck toAsh and Happy Anniversary.
Hope we hear from Marydollsoon.
Healing vibes to all that need them and wishes for a good day for all.

Auntieflo Sat 29-Oct-22 07:44:21

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. We are away and the Wi-Fi here is abysmal , at least until after 9 am, when we are usually out and about.
So I must go back and try and catch up on what has been happening in GN world.
Hoping yo hear that Marydoll is alright.
Happy Anniversary Ashcombe
Have a good day one and all.

Pittcity Sat 29-Oct-22 07:29:49

Good morning from a dark Colchester. 20° forecast today.
I am sitting in bed listening to DH and DGS (age 6) playing a guessing game. There's a lot of laughter. DGS (age 11) is staying in bed to avoid having to play as am I!
DD1 is picking them up early so that they can do a park run.
DH and I are having afternoon tea in a local hotel (5 minutes walk from home) that was an anniversary gift.

Happy Anniversary to Ash and Olddudders ?

Love to all ? x

Grandmadinosaur Sat 29-Oct-22 07:27:27

Good morning from Ibiza. It’s looking like another sunny day here.

We had to disappoint GS yesterday as the boat trip wasn’t running. Instead we fed the fish as someone kindly gave him some bread to
join in with the others.Had a drink and played in the childrens play area. After lunch we went across to the children splash pool with them were he especially had a ball. In the evening DH and I went to Santa Eulalia had cocktails, a lovely meal and to the last night of a bar in the marina. A local rock choir did a few songs and they were brilliant. I’d love to do something like that. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while. Anyone on here a member of one? Home in a taxi straight to the loo where I was stopped in my tracks by a cockroach on the bathroom floor. It scuttled off in a corner under the bath I stuffed loo roll in the small gap! Very wary of where it might lurking be this morning.

Happy Anniversary Ash and * olddudders* ?

Hope you all enjoy the birthday party shazza

Take care everyone.

kittylester Sat 29-Oct-22 07:16:15

Good morning all from a very dark and wet North Licestershire.

Not a lot happening here today. DH is planning some gardening and we need to do some garden planning before our gardener comes next week.

Hope the party goes well, shazza.

ShazzaKanazza Sat 29-Oct-22 07:01:09

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s dark so I don’t know what it’s like out. Yesterday came out lovely sunny and warm.

Happy Anniversary to you both Ash? hoping everything goes as it should for your procedure starting with getting into hospital tomorrow x

I messaged Marydoll yesterday and as suspected she isn’t well but she hopes it will pass soon. Hopefully she will pop on this morning. ? I miss her posts.

This morning we have our flu jabs.
This afternoon it’s our GDs party from her birthday last Monday. It’s at a sports centre with a bouncy castle. I’ve made chocolate crispy buns and bought cupcakes. I really can’t bake. My GS has been invited. Bless him being autistic he never gets invited to parties so we will be keeping a good eye on him. A robust seven year old on a bouncy castle with three and four year olds he also doesn’t move if anyone gets in his way he just ploughs through what can go wrong.
I’ve said to DD I will make gluten free sandwiches for him and the crispy buns are gluten free if he wants one.

Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday. I really wish we didn’t have to put clocks back. Very outdated.
Thinking of those with struggles today ??

cornergran Sat 29-Oct-22 06:33:16

Sorry, that should say on Sunday. Think I need to go back to sleep grin.

cornergran Sat 29-Oct-22 06:32:42

In case I don’t get here tomorrow all good wishes for your surgery ash.

Ashcombe Sat 29-Oct-22 06:30:07

Thank you all for the anniversary greetings. ?

If the bed remains available, I should be admitted to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth tomorrow afternoon, grandMattie, with the operation (mitral valve repair) to be done on Monday, ?which happens to be DGD's 10th birthday!

I’ve been wondering about Marydoll, too, as it’s been a while since she posted. Take care, everyone! ?

cornergran Sat 29-Oct-22 06:23:18

Morning Mick, morning All. Ground looks very wet out there although it’s not raining now. See what today brings for our corner of Somerset.

Mix of frustration and success yesterday. New fridge freezer installed, can’t decide if it’s working properly though. Delivery folk left huge black mark on a rug, so far it’s still there in spite of cleaning. Oh well, worse things happen at sea as my dad used to say.

Not sure what today will bring. Disturbed night with cramp, may need to borrow those matchsticks greyd, hope the insurance riddle is easily solvable.

A very happy anniversary to you both ash. Enjoy todays his trip mick.

Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

karmalady Sat 29-Oct-22 06:19:39

good morning from a wet s somerset. I am expecting and hoping for some sunny skies today

I will get out today on my bike, by hook or by crook, no need to stay in today. Just an hour, it sets me up. Being a lark, I need to go in the morning.

Pottering today, a bit of vacuuming and flitting around with a duster, maybe. My time is my own so I will do whatever takes my fancy

I shall have to prop my eyelids with matchsticks tonight or there will be no chance of staying in bed the extra hour tomorrow. I am always ready for life at 5.30am

grandMattie Sat 29-Oct-22 06:19:19

Good morning from a damp E Kent. A little rain in the early hours…
Happy anniversary, Ash and olddudders. Shame you can’t be together. When is your procedure?
Any news of Marydoll?
The wooden ramp went up yesterday. It is very unsightly which is a shame. DL is terrified of it ATM. Meanwhile, I have very firmly said that if she needs to go out, someone else can do it; I do plenty for her and don’t want to be her slave.
I took 5 sack of clothing to the hospice shop and Salvation Army drops.
Nothing happening today - no visitors planned. Probably do some knitting to finish the Wise Men in my nativity to take to Bristol next weekend.
Hate the change of clocks, I get jet lag.
Have a lovely weekend. Carpe diem.

Greyduster Sat 29-Oct-22 06:12:42

Happy Anniversary to you and Olddudders, Ash!???
