I would assume it was either a hand-finished item and the sewer left the needle in or a customer had returned it and for whatever reason put a needle in the item.

Either way, it was human error, people make mistakes, and nothing can be done to prevent it from happening again as it was simply a mistake and no harm was done.

I did it via facebook messenger and eventually got a response, they are unconcerned and just said return the item. I have screen shot all the interaction and added it to the parcel. I will dispose of the needle.

Do they have a Twitter account? Sometimes tweeting brings a more prompt response.

Update, they dont seem that interested, perhaps I was being over dramatic!

Ordered 3 items of clothing from …… but delivered separately from their ‘concessions’ . Delivered yesterday by …., opened it this morning to try on and did think how untidyly packaged it was (its a tunic top), shoved into a small bag with a 6” square of creased tissue paper. As I was taking it off I noticed a piece of metal, on closer inspection it is a small sewing needle! (Now, I have Lymphoedema and if it had punctured my skin I could end up with an infection, but worse still there are other implications!!). There is no phone number, so I have tried to send an urgent email, but for some reason it wouldnt send, so I have resorted to direct Facebook messenger, but of course no response as yet. I think this garment has been returned by someone and just resent out to me, thats the better senario I can think off, but I wonder what you think?
