Iceland’s plastic delivery bags are unfit for purpose

Tesco take carrier/plastic bags. They have a huge cage outside of the store for them and I take all the plastic bags and packing there.

Our Tesco one gets fill to the brim and has overflows all round, also 5 miles away so not environmentally friendly either.

We are allowed to wrap food in newspaper or biodegradable waste bags for the food bin. These Iceland bags don’t look very degradable.

Well, if they're like the 'crate liner' bags Tesco used for a while- they make good litter tray liners for the triangle shaped trays.

Will Iceland let you opt out of having bags? Sainsburys use crates and I just keep a cardboard box by the door so I can quickly decant for the driver, and then put away at my leisure. Happy to do that for Iceland.

Not sure about the Council. They are pretty good here on most things but reject wrappers. I’ll ring up and ask.

We can use polythene bags her for our food recycling bins, the food gets squeezed out and processed and the bags are then used to produce electricity.

Check your Council's recycling ethos.

Our groceries get brought to the door in crates and we decant them into our own reusable bags.

You can refuse to have the groceries delivered in the bags.

I be never seen them Avalon I had a few iceland deliveries during lockdown and they were just ordinary carrier bags
