I suppose they’re joining in, being part of the community, but I can understand it being upsetting.

I hope someone takes a photo of the window display and emails their head office to complain.

I am glad it isnt just me, if I had been recently bereaved it is the last thing I would want to see.

There's a time and a place but an undertakers window display featuring halloween decorations is in very poor taste.

I saw a photograph on FB yesterday of a Post Box Topper featuring a huge crocheted spider with red poppies on it.......hardly appropriate in my opinion but the accompanying comments were all positive......no accounting for taste.

Down the road to me a large car has been made into a hearse with an open coffin in the back . There’s a grotesque body lying in the coffin with lights and additional decorations of bats , blood and cobwebs . Very distasteful and disturbing. Really not a fan of hallowe’en it’s become more and more gruesome.

In very bad taste I’d say. I’ll be glad when the whole thing is over tomorrow.

I’m quite recently bereaved too and wouldn’t have wanted to see that in the undertakers window. Halloween decorations seem to be getting more extreme. I passed a house the other day with what looked like a body hanging from a tree in the front garden, all part of their Halloween display, I thought it was in really bad taste.

Very distasteful and could be quite upsetting for someone who is recently bereaved , and probably, used their services for their loved one ….not funny at all

Grannynannywanny Mon 31-Oct-22 17:54:36

Very distasteful and difficult to understand how they would think that was acceptable for a bereaved person to see before they set foot on the premises.

I find that very tacky. That could be very upsetting.

How odd to have any sort of decorations, it is not as though they need to draw attention to their services, you either need an undertaker or you don’t.

maddyone Mon 31-Oct-22 17:30:28

I saw the same thing in an undertaker’s window when I went to get my Covid jab last week. As a recently bereaved person, I found it very distasteful.

Went to get my nails done today in our small market town and have to pass the Co-op undertakers, the window contains urns and headstones as you might expect, what I didnt expect to see was halloween decorations,a basket of conkers and spiders webs etc.
My first reaction was tacky and inappropriate, I have a broadminded sense of humour, and dare I say graveyard humour.
What do you think, bad taste ?
