My favourite is Rhod Gilbert and my least favourite is Jimmy Carr

I don't have a favourite, but like many, many comedians.

The only one that springs to mind that I really can't abide is Frankie Boyle.

I'm sure I'm alone in this, but I never found many of the old school comedians particularly funny, Morecombe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, perfectly inoffensive but just about raised a faint smile for me. Dare I say it the two Ronnies, sometimes a bit sexist!, my mum liked them I remember watching the "forkhandle/four candles" sketch, yes I'll admit that and some of their other stuff made me laugh. Comedy really began for me with Monty Python, I like satire and a sense of the ridiculous, my kids got me into "Mighty Boosh" a few years ago and hell now Noel Fielding is doing BakeoffshockLots of the current crop of comics I find funny almost too numerous to mention.

Funny about swearing. Billy Conolly swears like a trooper, but it does not bother me at all. Love him. Used to like McIntyre, but really gone off him and his new shows. All manic and shouting!

I like dry humour, à la Lee Mack and others. Jimmy Carr, nah, not for me- gives me the creeps.

I’ very fickle, keep changing my mind, but I think the late, lamented Victoria Wood will always be my favourite.

Right now I like Lee Mack, Steve Coogan and Jon Richardson. Jimmy Carr not so much.

Used to like Eddie Izzard but gone off him/her a bit. Dont like any comedian who thinks they have to swear all the time.

We haven’t got one single decent one here at the moment, can’t think of any. I used to like Billy Connolly in the early days, not so much recently. You do comedy so well, better than us I think.

David Mitchell - yes
Ricky Gervaise - NO
Never heard of Keith Lemon …

Eloethan Tue 01-Nov-22 21:58:33

Favourites: Jack Dee, Billy Connolly, Stuart Lee (though he's become a little too surreal of late, even for me), Kevin Bridges, Sarah Pascoe, Michael MacIntyre

Don't enjoy: Jimmy Carr, Keith Lemon, Dara O'Brien

Another vote for Lee Mack. Used to like Dave Allen back in the day. Dislike Michael McIntyre.

Michael McIntyre (going to see him on Monday!)
Two Ronnies
Dislike Lenny Henry

Showing my age now, Tommy Cooper, Morecambe & Wise, The Two Ronnies, Billy Connolly, Victoria Wood and so many more ……….

Humour is a funny thing (pun intended). We all find different people funny. I've watched Michael MacIntyre a few times but never found him remotely funny. I like Ricky Gervais (sometimes).

MissAdventure Tue 01-Nov-22 20:01:51

I like Mickey Flanagan, Ricky Gervais, and Sean Locke, particularly, but I can laugh at most comedians.

Apart from Dara O'Brien, that is.

Antonia Tue 01-Nov-22 19:56:35

Of modern comedians, Lee Mack. But I don't think anyone today comes close to Morecambe and Wise or the Two Ronnie's.

JackyB Tue 01-Nov-22 19:55:18

And I've forgotten my absolute hero: Graeme Garden

lemsip Tue 01-Nov-22 18:59:06

yes me too, Michael McIntyre

Mollygo Tue 01-Nov-22 18:49:54

Aveline

I have laughed till I cried and could hardly breathe at Michael McIntyre!

Me too.

Not quite comedians but I love "Dead Ringers"

JackyB Tue 01-Nov-22 18:11:47

I like many of those named above but only Michael MacIntyre can make me laugh so I went myself (sorry if TMI)

I didn't like the old Frankie Boyle - he's probably embarrassed himself at his old jokes.

I love anyone with an accent and have an enormous crush on Ed Byrne and Dylan Moran and just want to hug Kevin Bridges.

For the more cerebral you can't beat Robin Williams.

Silvergirl Tue 01-Nov-22 18:02:11

Best: Billy Connolly
Worst: Jimmy Carr

Zoejory Tue 01-Nov-22 18:00:45
