Good morning from a blustery Oxfordshire, torrential rain last evening and during the night, Drought?? What drought??
Not much going on here today.
Hope MrOops is a bit better today, he was on his inhalers for most of yesterday, but not until I practically had to force him to sit down and use them. I don’t understand why he waits until he can’t function and then thinks Oh! Maybe it’s my Asthma.
Maybe MrsOops is right……..grrrrrrr - of course I’m right, and I shall tell him that every chance I get.
Best wishes to Ash
Love the Nativity GM
Well done Urms sylph like I’m sure…

Oh and a pinch and a punch.

Have a good day everyone and hugs for those who aren’t so chipper.

Morning all, 🐇🐇🐇

Beautiful Nativity characters grandMattie

Well done Urmstongran it’s not easy to be good in Espana as the all the little (and not so little) tapas are just soooo tasty.

Fingers crossed Ashcombe is pain free and resting, she did say that she wasn’t allowed her phone in the ICU post op.

I feel much better this morning, so I can start pottering and catching up with all the jobs that haven’t been neglected (DH does his best, but I am a fussy Fanny)

Have your best day folks 🦩🙋‍♀️

Better late than never. Fanfare Richard Strauss!

Gingster Tue 01-Nov-22 07:15:06

Good morning all and the sun is just up but it’s gale force winds out there. The heavy wooden garden furniture is on its side . Typical, as we’re travelling back to Essex today and I hate going over the bridge in high winds 🚗💨💨💨💨🫣.

Tip time booked for all our wallpaper stripping rubbish and clearing up the cottage . The plasterer came and we’ve booked him in to do the job while we are away.

I went to see The Lost King yesterday. I enjoyed it and coincidentally we are reading the book about how King Richard 111’s remains were found. Amazing!.

Hopefully hear from Ash when she’s able.
Lovely Nativity knitting GM.

Bridge club this afternoon (if we’re home in time) .

Have a good day, 🍁🥮🍂

Good morning, Michael, and all GNs. A lovely sunrise this morning in South Yorkshire which doesn’t always herald a clear day - red sky in the morning and all that. I have nothing much planned today so I will go out in the car to get further used to driving it - and parking it; maybe do some shopping while I’m out.
Thinking of Ash - hope all went well💐
Have the best day you can folks.
My sunrise photo hasn’t downloaded to the iPad yet. I’ll post it when it does.

Urmstongran Tue 01-Nov-22 07:12:12

Ah Beechnut the SOAP dish! I shall make it myself once we are back home. My stepfather loves it.

Grandmachrisy47 Tue 01-Nov-22 07:12:02

Good morning all from damp NE.
A successful trip to buy face paints yesterday. Dgd’s mum (dd2) did a superb job of the hallowe’en make up.
Sainsburys delivery this morning then no plans.
Hope Ash’s op went well.

Urmstongran Tue 01-Nov-22 07:09:21

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Málaga where we have a high of 24°C forecast later with some sunshine. Yay! It’s Tuesday = my LWW afternoon. I’ve just had a cheeky weigh in (couldn’t resist as my belly feels flatter) and I’ve lost a smidge over 10lbs. I’m joyous!

I plan to wear my white linen trousers from Boden. They are years old but look great with any top. I’ve not worn them all this summer though as they fit like a sausage skin. Today I’ll be able to zip them up and fasten the waistband buttons!

Trust Ash is recovering well from her heart op this morning. Thank you grandMattie for keeping us updated. Your DL has so many visitors perhaps as well as the ramp the handyman could have installed a revolving door to save your legs. You’ve been an absolute 🌟 to your friend. I’m sure she and all her other friends really appreciate all you have done. In a few short weeks she will be living independently and you can be an (occasional) visitor. Better take a flask of soup with you though. ...
😁

Good morning all from a wet East Yorkshire.

Love your Nativity characters GM you are very talented.

My only trick or treaters were my GC who then came in for a short visit. GD looked so sweet in her outfit. She was crawling on the floor and at one point she looked up at me and oh that little face melted my heart. Made me feel so guilty about the childminding dilemma.

Usual Tuesday routine coffee morning then GS after school.

Sending healing vibes for Ash hope it went well.

Dias los muertes Urms hope I’ve got that right.

Glad that your DH is feeling better Shazza

Take care everyone.

Good morning everyone from a dark and blustery North Yorkshire. It has at least stopped raining. I’m doing a lot of washing, started early in the hope of getting it all out and dried. Won’t be many days left worth putting it out soon. Everyone in the GC household are doing well apparently which is a relief. What talents and patience you have grandMattie and thank you for reminding me to turn the calendar over, white rabbits indeed. Hope Ash is recovering well. Have a good a day as possible everyone.

BlueBalou Tue 01-Nov-22 06:59:47

Good morning everyone from soggy Somerset, there were some torrential downpours yesterday late afternoon, spectacular to watch from the art studio.
Another day of watercolours today with a lovely group of people, I’ve booked further courses next year!
I hope Ash is as comfortable as one can be after major surgery and has a smooth recovery.

Beechnut Tue 01-Nov-22 06:59:33

Pinch punch and good morning everyone from Severnside. The clouds are very grey and moving swiftly to the east.

I hope the op for Ash went well 💐

Swimming and homeworking for me today. On the menu for the first time in a while is SOAP, looking forward to that later.

Your nativity looks lovely and colourful Mattie.

Have a good day all 🍃🍂

Good morning from Leicestershire.

Soggy dog walking this morning. The vet is concerned he has arthritis but has given him pain killers to see if that helps his limp. If not it will be very expensive X-rays. It makes you realise the true cost of NHS treatments.

Hoping to hear that Ashcombe’s op went well and all those feeling under the weather feel better soon.

Urmstongran Tue 01-Nov-22 06:51:21

A national holiday here in Spain today.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 01-Nov-22 06:40:15

Morning all and white rabbits from a rainy and windswept West Oxfordshire. That is a beautiful nativity scene, GM. I hope all went well with Ash’s operation. We are having our wardrobe doors replaced today. Why, is too tedious to explain! At some point this afternoon I’m popping to Waitrose for a click and collect which includes two Guinea fowl. We have decided to have an assortment of meat at Christmas and with the avian flu thing thought we would buy and freeze some now. By the end of the day we will have two Guinea fowl, two pheasants and two pigeons. Have a good day everyone in spite of the biblical rain!

cornergran Tue 01-Nov-22 06:25:32

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, damp and draughty corner of Somerset.

Grocery order arriving first thing, no idea after that.

Your Nativity is lovely grandmattie. Been thinking about ash and hoping all went to plan. It could be a while before she is able to use her phone.

Take care everyone. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 01-Nov-22 06:24:29

Your nativity scene is coming on beautifully grandMattie.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 01-Nov-22 06:22:49

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s been raining all night long.

Hoping that Ashcombe is recovering well after her operation yesterday. 💐

Last night I spent a lovely couple of hours greeting children at the door. They were delightful. Wonderful costumes and impeccable manners. They really cheered me. One lad even did a Mickey Mouse impression which made me laugh. Apparently that was going to be his trick if I’d asked for one.

Today my DD Grandgirls and I are going over to visit my mum. We will have a giggle as we have the same sense of humour. DH is still recovering but is so much better. Tonight we are supposed to be going out with his cousin and wife but we’ll see how today goes for him first.

Wishing everyone a good day but virtual hugs to those struggling with illness and stress🌻🌻

grandMattie Tue 01-Nov-22 06:13:54

Oh and white rabbits everyone 🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇

grandMattie Tue 01-Nov-22 06:13:25

Good morning from a dark stormy E Kent. The wind kept me awake half the night; not that much rain though.
The last time I heard from Ashcombe was around 1330 as she was taken to theatre. With no reply to further messages, I assume that her delayed procedure took place. I’ll keep you updated.
I finished my thirdWise Man and am delighted with the results. Now starting on the shepherds.
We had hope for a quiet day yesterday - it was nothing if the sort. DL had visits from her cousin, the handyman to adjust the ramp, a friend and finally her solicitor regarding the purchase of that flat!
Today, DL has more visitors, probably using the famous ramp, taking her out to lunch if the weather isn’t too vile. I’m making soup and bread just in case it is.
Tai chi for me and possibly a Knit and Natter group in the afternoon. Must call DD as she’s back from their Italian holiday.
Hope all the poorly and their careers have a quiet day. Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩🦩
