Very well deserved momb, enjoy it.
Wet and windy day, not at all pleasant, I went out to do what had to be done, that was it.
We have a friend round for dinner soon, it’ll be on our laps, not literally I hope! The kitchen/diner is congested with the cupboard housing the boiler right by the table, said boiler is more efficient and very quiet.
Dentist tomorrow, first fitting for denture 😮
Enjoy your evening all x

About ten days after our guests have moved out we are going to the hotel you recommended near Stranraer Blossoming for the weekend for my DHs birthday. I am really looking forward to it. So glad of the recommendation. It looks perfect especially as my DH loves lighthouses. Thanks Blossoming!

Ladyleftfieldlover I think that your husband's intention to watch "the other match" on his laptop is a splendid compromise. wink

Nannytopsy You deserve a gold medal for your services to the smelly, visiting dogs.

Blossoming Baked potatoes sound perfect for a day like today. It has been windy, wet and chilly.

Hellogirl We said hello to dear David when we visited the GP. It is a very smart campsite, 'though there are no visitors right now.

Away to enjoy a warming brew. Ironing done and put away. I need to polish my tarnished halo. grin

Back with you all again tomorrow. Stay safe. Stay warm. smile moon

Marvellous news MOMB, what a great outcome for your guests.
I had a look at those puddings Neine and Soop they look lush!

It’s been a horrible wet dark gloomy day here, we are snuggled up nice and warm in the small upstairs sitting room right now, it’s easy to heat! Baked potatoes later.

Have a lovely evening all smile

Nannytopsy Mon 21-Nov-22 16:37:54

It’s decidedly colder in Suffolk and wet with it LFL . We have just had the news that our visiting dogs are leaving on Thursday. They are spoilt, fussy, smelly and aggressive to visitors and other dogs. We will have had them for two weeks and I can’t wait for Thursday! On Thursday afternoon I shall be shampooing the carpets to get rid of the smell and on Friday it’s a lie in. No more 5am demands to be let out!
DH is dozing in his chair and I am still quilting. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 21-Nov-22 16:05:15

Hello everyone. OH has been glued to the football this afternoon so I did the shopping, put it all away etc. etc. There is another match this evening but he has promised to watch on his laptop upstairs. Is the weather getting colder, or is it just me? Have a good evening everyone.

mumofmadboys Thank you for sharing your wonderful news. You are an amazing and inspirational person to do what you've done to support a family in dire need. flowers flowers flowers

mumofmadboys Mon 21-Nov-22 15:13:08

I feel a bit selfish swanning in here to share our good news when lately I have not had time to visit much , if at all. Anyway please excuse me! Our Ukranian family have been offered a house which we saw yesterday. It is perfect and only two minutes walk from us. The landlord was kindness itself and reduced the rent by £50 a month on the spot to help a UA family! It was already very reasonable. We couldn't have hoped for better. Having had the family of 4 living with us for six and a half months it will be lovely to have a rest and bit of peace and quiet although we will miss them! I will have to get used to cooking for two again rather than six!

soop Mon 21-Nov-22 15:01:14

BladeAnnie I trust that your bone density scan is favourable.
This morning I saw the GP. He said that the stopping of one incompatible medication and replacing it with an alternative, will take at least a month to present signs of improvement.

Urms Your stepfather will value your companionship greatly. It is good to reminisce. sunshine

Shazza Would you recommend a particular brand of air fryer? I am interested. They seem to be extremely popular and economic with it.

A pile of ironing awaits. No snooker, alas! The final was super exciting.

Back a little later.

soop Mon 21-Nov-22 14:47:35

Naughtyneine You are a shining star. THANK you on behalf of our pal. I shall private message my address. Will you please tell me combined purchase and postal costs. Wow!

Yiayia4 Mon 21-Nov-22 14:36:49

Tomorrow is my twin DSs birthday, they will be 47😂 I was a child bride.🤣We are going out for pizza with DS3 and family this evening. We will celebrate with DS2 if he feels like it when we visit in a couple of weeks.
Have a lovely Holiday BladeAnnie hope you see the northern lights.
Enjoy your evening everyone.

BladeAnnie Mon 21-Nov-22 11:27:13

Just popping in to say a quick hello as I'm off shortly to Sheffield for my bone density scan. Brook I do indeed have the app for alerts and Mr BA will be on standby for middle of the night excursions!! #chasingtheNorthernLights 🌌🤞. Wishing you all a pleasant Monday. TOYA 🌷

ShazzaKanazza Mon 21-Nov-22 09:37:56

Good morning dear Kitcheners.
Sue thanks for your cinnamon toast idea. I just had a slice. Oh my it was heaven. I do use cinnamon in cooking but that was different. Yum.
Talking about air fryers I think we are going to buy our son one for Christmas. He’s on his own with grandson and this will be a more economical way of cooking just for the two of them.

Speak later hopefully x🌻

SueDonim Sun 20-Nov-22 23:38:01

Shazza could you make cinnamon toast with gluten-free bread, to have a cinnamon hit? I really fancy cinnamon toast now!

We walked to Tesco in the cold but bright weather today. Once again we bought almost more than we could manage to carry home - we still haven’t got used to not going with the car. grin Somehow, an airfryer popped itself into the trolley - will need to start experimenting. My dd swears by hers so much she now has two!

I had a good tidy up at home mainly of paperwork that had accumulated. Where is this paperless society that we were promised on the likes of Tomorrow’s World and Horizon, all those decades ago. 🤔

I hope everyone has had a pleasant weekend. TOYA. Xxxx

Naughtyneine Sun 20-Nov-22 23:29:21

Blast... I'm very belated I've been on a pudding hunt...but Happy Birthday BA...and many congratulations to SueD. I hope you've both had a lovely weekend of celebrations. I'll pop back in tomorrow with the tale of the tumble dryer....sleep well everyone

Naughtyneine Sun 20-Nov-22 22:46:44

Hi Soop... It's the one that's been on TV...the man in store said they are flying out as soon as they come in. It's a Cherry and Orange Christmas pudding wreath with citrus liqueur. I think it must be the one that your friend wants as there was nothing else similar listed. I've bought one for you... Just in case. Lol

Suitable for the microwave

Hi to everyone in the kitchen, we’ve had another lovely day on our Spanish adventure. We were sorry to leave behind beautiful Granada this morning but pleased to be meeting up with my friend tomorrow. I’m looking forward to hearing all about her new life here and how she’s fitting in etc. she lives in a small Andalusian town that’s not at all touristy so it’s very interesting. We met years ago in Inverness when we were both doing Spanish classes - she’s fluent now but I’m still struggling!

Enjoy your time in the north of Scotland BA wrap up warm and stay cosy in your little cottage. Have you got the App that gives you an alert when the NorthernLights are active? I hope you get to see them

Urmstongran Sun 20-Nov-22 18:28:35

‘Evening All’

We’ve had a lovely Sunday afternoon with my stepfather. Dinner together is very comforting for him and me. We find ourselves talking about friends and family no longer with us. We chuckle over past stories and never tire of repeating them. Himself took him home an hour ago. I sided the table and washed up.

Feet up now!

soop Sun 20-Nov-22 17:34:10

We had a visitor. I have been attempting to wrap paintings for posting. I've also been watching the snooker final. Hence, I am running out of day-space.

I just wanted to say that I am thinking of you all. I shall spend more time in our kitchen tomorrow. smile moon

soop Sun 20-Nov-22 17:19:22

Naughtyneine Is it laced with cherry and orange liquer? That is the one my friend asked me to buy for her. If so, yes, that will be the answer to our prayer. x

ShazzaKanazza Sun 20-Nov-22 16:46:34

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Daughter, son in law and the grand girls have just left. Ooh we had some delicious cuddles off them. ❤️Before they came we were watching last nights strictly and now they have gone football is on how did that happen!

I’ve got chicken breasts out of the freezer. No real idea what I’m going to do with them.

BladeAnnie it sounds like your day yesterday was perfect and your highland holiday sounds wonderful Enjoy x

Brook enjoy your onward journey to your next destination. I don’t blame you enjoying travelling. Life was on hold for too long. Don’t get me started I can get on my soap box but I won’t x

Grandmabatty your cinnamon rolls sound gorgeous and your mustard chicken. I might look for a recipe and make that as well. A few weeks ago I was walking around Tesco and I was in the bread aisle and got a smell of cinnamon. So I picked up a bag of cinnamon bagels and just inhaled them because I can’t eat them being gluten free. Dh felt very sorry for me.

Oh Strictly is back on. Ok speak soon have a lovely evening x🌻

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 20-Nov-22 16:45:24

Afternoon everyone. Son and his family have gone back to London so I am now relaxing! It was lovely to see them all. Granddaughter had a bit of cough and cold but she was her usual helpful self, setting the lunch table and handing round biscuits with afternoon tea. Dinner may be leftover cottage pie and raspberry crumble. Hope you all have a good evening.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 20-Nov-22 16:41:41

Hi kitcheners, I have finished writing the Christmas cards and generally fiddled about.

Dinner is all prepared ready to be popped in the oven about 5.30pm, I am curled up on the sofa with a glass of sherry over ice, the first one of the Christmas season, I also had my coffee in my Christmas mug this afternoon.

Be good folks 🙋‍♀️

Grandmabatty Sun 20-Nov-22 16:26:09

Good afternoon kitcheners. It's been a busy day. Aldi this morning then dgs2 had his birthday party this afternoon so I was at that. My aunt and uncle called in for a cuppa afterwards and then my cousin and her husband appeared so they stayed for a cuppa too. It's just as well I made cinnamon rolls yesterday! Chicken in mustard and honey is in the slow cooker for dinner. Have a good evening all.

Blossoming Sun 20-Nov-22 16:18:51

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners, it’s quiet in the kitchen today so I ,hope that means everyone is busy, enjoying themselves or spending time with friends and family, I’m glad you had a well deserved lovely birthday Blade Annie, your cottage by the sea sounds wonderful.
We’re being lazy, listening to Samuel Pepys Dairy and a few favourite history pod casts. My digestive issues are quiet again, had bacon rolls for brunch, tortilla with spinach and broccoli later.
Have a good evening all, stay warm and dry x
