‘Evening All’

Weather’s been pretty gloomy hereabouts. Getting out to M&S food hall with my stepfather made us go out otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered but when I got home I was glad it had been arranged IYSWIM.

I’ve binge watched The Crown and have one final episode left (no. 10). I’ve really enjoyed it. Some episodes were a history lesson for me and quite accurate too. The one about the Romanovs for example.

We enjoyed a delicious roast dinner. Proper gravy too! Just the two of us, so easy and great to have loads of fresh veggies on our plates - most meals out in Spain were with salad/chips. I really craved cauliflower, carrots and sprouts today!

Grandmabatty sorry your baby grandson has a sore bottom from acidic nappies during teething. We found this cream back in the day pretty darned amazing, very sparingly applied.

Of course I might be teaching a grandmother to suck eggs?

We still have the hounds from hell and for another 10 days or so. 🤬. 💩quotient is still very high but we are changing their diet from tomorrow, so hope things will improve.
DD, SiL, DGS and their dog are coming on Friday, because we can’t get these two into kennels. We were meant to visit them for the day and DD knows these dogs are really upsetting me. I am dreading it as these two are small but aggressive and just don’t stop. SiL says he will be officer in charge of dogs. And he will bring his gun and have a go at our very large rat!!

Good evening Kitcheners. Day two in the mad house. Dgs2 is teething badly and it's a perfect storm. He has a sore mouth, has had four disgusting nappies, two of which woke him early from a nap so he is grumpy as well. And the acidity in his nappies have made his wee bum sore. Wow is me. Poor wee man. Dgs1 was a star as usual. I've tidied up the chaos and I'm contemplating dinner. I'm still using up gammon so mash and green beans alongside I think. No childcare tomorrow but I'll visit mum in her dressing gown of doom. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Hello everyone. Well done Soop and Baggs. 🌺I had a baking afternoon - chocolate spiced muffins and a raspberry and white chocolate cake. I collected a rather enormous specimen container from the Health Centre. I have to do a 24-hour ‘pee’ test, take it to the surgery on Thursday and have another blood test. I used the 25% off six bottles of wine from Waitrose, just in time. I think today was the last day so I ordered it yesterday and collected it today. Have a good evening - I will be watching the Bake off final and maybe another Crown.

Thank you, lovely peeps, for putting up with my moans and groans. It's not what I wish upon any of you, especially those dear friends of ours with real problems. So, I am grateful that you understand.

I emailed the stoma nurse to report that I am still waiting for the phone call that will take me a little closer to managing the hernia. Her response is that I may need to wait some weeks.

The new stoma bags are not as effective as the original design was. It's all a bit of a buggeration. That's it! Grouchy Gran (me) is logging off. Tomorrow, we go to Oban hospital for Mr Soop's regular bloods results. We may pop into M&S for a looksie.

Good afternoon dear kitcheners from what has been a dark, wet and dismal day in mid-Notts. A few minutes ago the room suddenly became very light and we had a tiny bit of sunlight in a dark sky. The photo doesn't do it justice -being taken quickly through a rain spattered window. I still thought I'd share. TOYA

Good news, soop. MrB is always saying pharmacists know a good deal more than GPs about drugs. As one would expect, of course. Hope your next prescriptions are more comfortable for you.

Well, our fuel bill will be lower this month, the boiler has just been condemned, it’s not mega old, maybe 12-14 years old, the previous one was 30 years plus. New one on Saturday, I’ll get the blankets out. Our close friends just around the corner is on holiday, we’re key holders, so we will get a shower at least.
Dismal day here all round really! The rain is back.

Good to know someone is looking out for you Soop. I’m feeling pleased with myself as I have ordered all the children’s Christmas gifts which should arrive tomorrow. We only buy for the ‘younger generation’ now but there are 25 of them and I can’t bear to cut down on them! I don’t want to get caught out with any postal strikes so am getting prepared.

Phone call from pharmacist at GP surgery this morning. He asked how I was feeling. I told him the ungarnished truth. He said, I know why that is. The cancer med is incompatible with two other meds that I take daily. Resulting in chronic fatigue. He's to ask GP to stop tabs and prescribe something that is compatible with Tamoxifen. Warns that for two weeks thereafter I may feel worse but thereafter there should be a big improvement. Such a relief to know that it's not all in my mind.

‘Evening All’

Just back from the sports centre where the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss have their swimming lessons. Same time, different lanes in the big pool. The showers afterwards are a complete bear garden. Fortunately big brother completely sorts himself out which is a big help!

Eaten well, we had salmon, baby potatoes and mushrooms fried in butter with spring onions. Really delicious.

I’m off to watch some more of The crown now! I’ve earned it.

Yes grandmabatty I’m pleased to report the weather today has been hot and sunny again, about 24º, I’m definitely not used to it given normal Inverness temperatures. It’s our last night here tonight, tomorrow we’re travelling to Granada to spend a few days there.
