The surgeon's secretary has responded to the email that I forwarded to her with attached images of hernia. She confirms it is a parastomal hernia and I need to contact Oban hospital to have it assessed.

My cell phone is playing silly b's. It's one of those buggeration days.

What a mix of weather from Kitcheners, from beach-worthy sunshine to downpours! It was damp here first thing but dried up and a watery sun came out at times.

I went to the dump - twice - to get rid of the cardboard from some work we had done last week. I planted up some bulbs in pots for Xmas/NY flowers. Also gave the cat a spring clean - he wasn’t impressed. Then we put away some of our Cd’s on the new shelving we had installed and hid some clutter in the new cupboard. Emptied two more boxes from our move and now we need to go down to the dump again. 🙄

I had a delivery of some beautiful flowers today from a friend who wanted to cheer me up. It did the trick, it’s good to look at something so lovely and I am blessed with such caring friends.

Ooh brook don’t do what I did the last time I had a bath. It was in a hotel in London and I swear they had polished the bottom of the tub. I slipped and slid and eventually called for DH. He got in to help me and his feet slipped from under him as well! We lay in the bottom of the bath giggling. Thank goodness we weren’t on candid camera.
Obviously we eventually got out but it was very difficult and I’ve not had a proper bath since. I did warn them about it in writing but we didn’t get any response.

I’m just popping in to let brook know that according to the sunset I’ve just seen from the kitchen window, the weather looks good for tomorrow onwards. Mind you, I had to go outside to take a better picture and it reminded me to get the washing in, having been dry, it had got cold and damp again by then of course.

We’ve had hefty showers, then sun, I got wet at the farm shop going in and out. Nothing like the weather with Urms.
MrJ won a topside of beef in the meat draw at our local, that’ll do, ages since we had a beef joint.
You’ll get wrinkly fingers brook! Sounds great, a fitting start to your r&r.
Must think about dinner, I’ve bought sprouts, MrJ will have a couple to appease me.

What a lovely day that sounds Urms! I’d love a long soak in a bath Brook but unfortunately I can’t climb out again . Yes it is me that has an Oodie, recommended by another Gran MissAdventure whom some of you will know.
Soop a friend with a similar problem had a belt to support the hernia that helped. Perhaps the stoma nurse can advise?

Thank you all for your good wishes, we’ve just checked into our hotel in Glasgow and put the kettle on. A nice and easy and free journey down from Inverness on the megabus, we know how to travel in style!. Anyhow once we’ve had a rest we’re going to hit the town in search of somewhere to eat. There’s actually a real deep bath in the hotel bathroom so that’s a treat for me as I always shower at home. Im going to have bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles!

Sorry to hear you’re uncomfortable Soop hoping the hernia sorts itself out eventually but in the meantime I’d just wear as much loose clothing as you can. The main thing is that you’re comfortable. Maybe you can get one of those trendy Oodies - is it blossoming that’s got one? Great for the winter weather too

When I lived in Stockport annsixty I used to really enjoy a browse around Next, a coffee in Costa and a trip to M&S so your afternoon brought back many happy memories. Retail therapy on a cold wet afternoon really helps

‘Evening All’ (an hour ahead here).

We’ve been on the beach all day! It was lovely. €12 for two sun beds with fat cushions and a straw ‘hat’. It was busy down at the marina. We stroll down it takes 10 minutes but taxi back up as it’s hilly. It was my stepfather’s turn to ring today and he laughed when I told him where we were!

We enjoyed a sundowner before we got our taxi. The sun starts to dip quite rapidly from 5pm at this time of year.

And I started a new book on my Kindle - ‘Lessons in Chemistry’ by Bonnie Garmus - recommended to me by one of our book clubbers. I’m loving it already!

I apologise for this very brief visit to our kitchen. We've both been busy, and I glued myself to watch the snooker session this afternoon. Judd Trump triumphed with a 147. Superb tactical play. The final frames of the Champion of Champions to be played this evening.

The parcel has been delivered to my son's house. Son says that he let me know via two text messages. There is no trace on my phone. All very mysterious.

The hernia under the stoma is now becoming a tad uncomfortable. Not painful. The problem is that I need to sit with my zip open, otherwise the bulge is seriously curtailed.

Hello everyone.
I hope you are all Ok or not too bad and not minding this poor weather.
I have had a real treat today, my GD’s friend came and they persuaded me to get out of the house with them.
We went to a large Next and had a lovely look round, some retail therapy was undertaken,it would have been rude not to.
We then went into the Costa which is in there and had delicious toasties and cake, then went to M& S where the plastic came in for a pounding again.
I did really really enjoy myself.
We then called in on friend’s mum who is in the middle of a house redecorating and furnishing marathon.
I did feel rather envious but I have done with that sort of thing I suppose.
The shops were all very busy, a wet day or early C……..s shopping ?

Good afternoon dear kitcheners - a quiet day for me after what seems to have been a busy and tiring week. Almost dark now although it has been a very dull and grey day with only a tiny spell of sunshine. Ladyleftfieldlover I think we made up for your lack of fireworks here!! We've been hearing them for the past couple of weeks but last night it sound as though they were in our garden - so loud and close by. Dear old Duncan is quite hard of hearing (or it may be selective deafness??) but thankfully he's never been bothered by them. Enjoy the rest of Sunday - TOYA

Busy today clearing our kitchen & utility ready for the painter, who should be here at 8am tomorrow. My goodness, what a lot of "stuff" & "clutter" we gather!!

Hello all. Fortunately we didn’t really have many fireworks last night so Milo and Ripley were ok. Church this morning. There are seven churches in the Benefice and I hadn’t been to this one for a while. It was good to be back. Lots of WI admin when I got home and then a sandwich lunch and the papers. At 5 pm I will be in the kitchen cooking roast lamb and all the trimmings and apple crumble and custard. Yum. It seems to be getting colder. We will have to bring in our Oleander before it gets zapped by frost. Have a good evening.

Glad you enjoyed breakfast with the family Grandmabatty. Those baked apples sound delicious BlueBalou. I have a chicken curry in the slow cooker, tomato based with lots of peppers and onions in it as I like hot curries. It’s low in fat so shouldn’t upset my tum too much.

Biblical downpours here this morning, DDog and DH were like drowned rats when they got home from their walk.
DDog hates loud noises, gunshots etc even if it’s on the television poor sausage. She came from a kill shelter so I daren’t imagine what she’s been through, it’s amazing that she’s so good natured and loving.
Pottered around doing lots of bits and pieces while they were out, so feeling quite pleased with myself.
I made a dish of small stuffed baked apples with mixed fruit a golden syrup and custard so help yourselves 😋

I'm more a dog person. My last one suffered terribly at fireworks and thunder. He would sit on me, shaking and drooling. Poor beastie. I've been for family breakfast and it was lovely to see my aunt and uncle again. Mum managed too which was good as she's been a recluse recently. Dd and the boys made it too. They were very well behaved. Home again and I've been cleaning the hose on my shower which I'm mortified to say, is grotty. My eyesight is deteriorating, sadly, and I hadn't spotted how mucky it was. So that's my Sunday task. Mince round and homemade airfryer chips for dinner, followed by Eve's pudding. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

Our cats were fine as long as we were with them Kitty and as I don’t like fireworks either I was happy to stay home! It’s cold and damp here today and there are slippery wet leaves everywhere so I don’t think I’ll be going far today either. Snuggling in a warm kitchen with a big mug of tea and bacon rolls for brunch is by far the best idea. Back on my usual porridge tomorrow.

Our cats sat under the dining table with very big eyes staring at us reproachfully.

They seem to have recovered this morning.

I really miss having cats around too, but the sad truth is I couldn’t look after them properly nowadays.

I think the fireworks have finally died down here, so I’ll say goodnight. TOYA.

When my cat Tara was alive, there was a large male who stalked her and tried to get in the catflap. He tried many times a week for 2 years and never managed it.

I showed Tara how to go out and I physically lifted her back in and she never looked back-she was very intelligent and still missed.

Our little pussy cats haven’t managed to work out how to use the catflap. I have to leave one of the back doors open enough for them to get in and out. All our other cats managed to work it out but the twins are a tad intellectually challenged !
