I’m glad the pet portrait turned up Soop. If we’re having so many issues with the post now heaven help us at Christmas!

Wonders will never cease! The pet portrait posted over three weeks ago finally arrived at it's destination yesterday. Thinking that it was lost, I ordered a copy of the photo of the finished painting to be mounted on canvas. All's well that ends well. What a kerfuffle!

A parcel posted eight days ago (1st class) with tracking, cannot at this time be located. I phoned the Royal Mail help line. Was told that there was a wait of 25mins with irritating music and finally gave up.

We said hello to David as we drove to the surgery, Hellogirl1.
We also went on to the special cafe for what we hoped would be a Scottish breakfast. Well, it was not to be. The cafe has been closed for a few days and the breakfast menu was non-operational. Never mind, we found enough to smile about in spite of the disappointment. Tomorrow, we'll be lunching at The Gather, in Tarbert. It has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and a varied menu. We'll possibly opt for fish and chips. It's a meal that never fails to please. Followed by a stodgy pudding and lashings of creamy custard. Simple pleasures.

Suedonim fingers crossed for your son. I've been raking leaves into a pile. I know I should turn them into leaf mould but I don't want to. I have been sweeping moss of my terrace too. Everything is damp and sticks. I'm very much a dry weather gardener.

What an anxious wait for you Sue. I do hope the news from the surgeon next week is a positive one for your son.

It’s a grey wet day here, one of those days that makes you want to pull up the drawbridge and hibernate.

I have done some finger shopping for Christmas gifts and ironed bedding and bits and bobs. I need to do a big unexpected food shop as we have teen GS’s here for the weekend, boy they can eat!!!

My lovely husband has just driven a 40 minute round trip to surprise me with a Pret salad. They have just opened today near Beverley. Pret don’t want to come to Hull unfortunately. 🌻

Dear Yia`. We need to hold hands or hugs over our sons. I had another long chat with my DS at the weekend asking him to seek help. He does talk a lot more to me these days. There used to be months with contact. It is so heart wrenching to hear my 51 yr old struggling emotionally. Many have been so supportive on GN when I've mentioned my worries about him over the nearly two years I have been on GN. He promised me a text this week to say he has an appointment to see a counsellor. Nothing yet. I'm nearly a 6hr drive away from him have looked into flights here from Gatwick as I'm hoping he'll agree to come down for a long weekend mid December. Train to Gatwick from where he lives is so easy.

In one week's time, MrMuse and I (plus Mya of course) should be spending our first full day in our new home: to cook, eat, shower and sleep there. Five and a half years ago we started our little self build project. The electricians are here for a few days at the moment and the plumber has one more job to do next Tuesday. I keep my fingers crossed.

My son is having a scan today, which hopefully will clarify the staging of his cancer. Still no date for surgery although he sees the surgeon next week.

I’m afraid I can’t get my mind to think of much else, so I’ll just say TOYA. Xx

Thank you all,it especially helps that other people have been through this.He is getting help from the G.P but has a 3 week wait for a phone appointment for counselling.I think the most frightening thing was when he had a panic attack while driving on the motorway.He managed to pull over but he’s scared to drive now.

Another who doesn't usually post but I want to send my good wishes to all who are worried. Yiayia you must be very anxious about your son. My friend is going through exactly the same and her son is three hours away too. His wife is very concerned.
Congratulations to the birthday and anniversary people too.
Been a bit of a stressful week here too but only trivial stuff that will sort itself out.

Yia my son was exactly the same a few years ago, he did ask for and get some help, we were living abroad, it was horrendous. Importantly he got through it.
