Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country where it rained most of the evening and night!

Lovely lunch meet up with friends yesterday at the Edwardian Tea Rooms in Birmingham. Could be an idea for a GN meet up?. I know we had one there a few years ago.

Thursday well-being walk this morning at a local country park. As it is the one year anniversary of it starting up, we are being given free hot drink and cake at the end! Some of us usually end up in the cafe there when finished. Rain is not due until this afternoon. Fingers crossed!

Hoping all is well with Ash.

Wishing you all a good day.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 03-Nov-22 08:09:59

Marydoll so sorry about your experience with your GP an all to familiar tale I fear.
MissOops had to practically beg her GP for some pain relief yesterday and he has reluctantly given her a weeks worth, she is only 3 weeks post op and is fretting that after a week she will be left with just Ibuprofen ( she can’t tolerate Paracetamol).
I despair it’s all very well to want the NHS to survive but when you can’t get treated anyway you have to wonder…..

Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Jax flowers

Kalu Thu 03-Nov-22 08:11:45

Good morning all from Glasgow where it is a bit damp but I couldn’t give a toss what is happening with the weather as we are still on cloud nine. A huge heartfelt thank you again for all your very welcoming messages of support. ❤️

I hope Ash is recovering well in ICU and returns to us soon to tell us, all went well. 🤞
Just noticed it’s a special day for you, Mr&MrsJax,
Happy Anniversary 🥰🥂
I just wish all those concerned with your medical care would get their act together Marydoll. No one should be left in limbo feeling so unwell and being passed from pillar to post. Time for them to get their heads together and do their job!💐
I do like the results of your medical MOT Grey. Very witty and gave me a chuckle. 😂

No need to,go out today so it’s back to the exciting to do list.

Best wishes to all for a positive day, especially those of you coping with worries and illness.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 03-Nov-22 08:12:45

Good news Kalu and Ash hope your recovery is going well

Kalu Thu 03-Nov-22 08:14:15

Due to the fuel crisis, Chris Rea is walking home for Christmas!🤦🏼‍♀️

Taichinan Thu 03-Nov-22 08:19:12

Marydoll that was shocking about your GP! What on earth have we come to! I'm sure the GPs themselves must be frustrated by the situation themselves - they surely went into medicine to help actual people and not words on a computer and a disembodied voice on a telephone! I'm glad your strong spirit didn't allow his dismissive attitude to win the day. 💪

Wyllow3 Thu 03-Nov-22 08:22:51

Good Morning from a rather dour E Yorks.

Greyduster the made me laugh but there reports coming out of GN's struggling to get care didn't, our poor NHS and turning workers into ones who can't respond like the y used to *Marydoll" I agree its most upsetting, one has sometimes to be so "on the ball".

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Jax for the day and may all GN's have the best day possible.

I'm exhausted but my cleaner is coming and quite likes me out of the way and I'll make an effort for the gym, and have nice counsellor after that by Zoom.

ShazzaKanazza Thu 03-Nov-22 08:22:52

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a dry Hull.

Happy anniversary to you both Jaxjacky enjoy Dorset.🥂

Marydoll what an upsetting and frustrating phone call. 💐

grandMattie you amaze me. 💐

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Glad I made it to the lunchtime concert yesterday in town yesterday, the pianist was brilliant, but I came straight home rather than having lunch there and pottering around as I usually do as I’m feeling a bit run down.
Glad to have a day at home for a change and I sent a message to thank my kind neighbour for putting out my green bin as I had forgotten and now think my son did it when fixing my car window…
The heating went on for a bit yesterday as such a horrible day, but might hold out today with an oodie.
Nice relief for you Kalu and hope Ash is making a good recovery.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 03-Nov-22 08:29:53

Happy Anniversary Jaxjacky and Mr J 💐

Gala Thu 03-Nov-22 08:32:04

Good morning from a dry & getting brighter Sefton. How's the weather your way Nannagarra?😉

No Zumba this morning, our instructor is still feeling the effects of Covid. So we will take advantage of a 'free' day with a trip out to Cheshire Oaks ..... ooh, retail overload. Babysitting the 4yr old DGD this evening so that mum can go & watch dad & his amateur theatre group's latest musical Jekyll & Hyde. Not sure about this one. Sounds gruesome.

Great news Kalu. What a relief for you both.

Now back to the beginning to catch up with all your doings & busyness.

Wishing you all the best of days & sending positive vibes & ((hugs)) to those of you who are struggling.

Nannagarra Thu 03-Nov-22 08:32:21

Good morning from the Sefton coast.
Cha, naughty but nice cake and chat with friends today.
Have the best Thursday possible.
🌸

It’s a beautiful sunny start to the day here in South Lanarkshire. Good morning all.

I had another very broken night, Sod’s Law as today is childminding day. Hey ho, I hope the weather is as good on the east coast, it will give me a boost.

Happy anniversary wishes to the Jaxs.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Nannagarra Thu 03-Nov-22 08:40:05

🤣
Yes, it’s dry and getting brighter here Gala!
We had quite a laugh yesterday about my reports being at odds with hers!

hulahoop Thu 03-Nov-22 08:40:33

ginny Thu 03-Nov-22 08:54:31

Good morning from a rainy N. Bucks.
DD1 is calling in today for an hour or two so a good chat is in the agenda.
We have little grandson this afternoon and will collect his brother from school. Will give them dinner and then SIL will collect them.
I have a request for chocolate cake so better get on with that.
Pleased to hear your good news*Kalu*.
Happy anniversary *Mr & Mrs Jax.
Safe journeys to all who are travelling.
Thoughts with all who are poorly .

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Nov-22 08:55:06

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° with blue skies. Jaxjacky happy anniversary to you both. marydoll that's so upsetting for you.
Yesterday's visit to mum wasn't great. She was in the dressing gown of doom again. She brightened up a little but slumped again. I find visits very draining. I then visited my friend and her partner and had a blether with them. She's been quite unwell and still isn't completely right yet. The weather was awful most of the day.
Today I have nothing planned until later when I'm meeting friends for an early tea. That's just as well as the new neighbours across the road are moving in and their large van is parked across my drive so I couldn't get out if I wanted. I'm sure if I had to ask them to move it, they would as they seemed very nice when I met them. There's a large skip in the drive so lots of changes happening. My daughter likens me to Isa from Still Game which is a tad closer to the truth than I'd like! I prefer to say I'm like Miss Marple. Pottering happening here for a while. Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 03-Nov-22 08:55:56

Morning all

I can confirm that it is lashing down and windy here in our corner of S E Essex, it’s messing with the internet grrr.

Sorry to learn your DD has more things to worry about sending you a (((hug))) Gingster. Sar53 please don’t go close to the sea wall or you will be washed away today 🤣

Happy Anniversary to the Jax’s 🥂🍾

MaryDoll I think it’s time you itemised all the mistakes and omissions your various health care professionals have made and send a duplicate letter to the lot of them and a copy to your MP, it really is not good enough 🤬

I have already ordered Christmas gifts from my bed this morning, I was intending to go to either Chelmsford or Lakeside but the weather is abysmal and after my trip to the local retail park (Mayflower) yesterday I was shattered.

Some pottering and I have some bedding to iron (I really wish I could get into a bed without ironed bedding, but I just cannot, if I was to win the lottery my luxury would be freshly laundered and ironed bedding each night, I know it’s wrong for the environment but it’s just a dream)

Have your best day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

BlueSapphire Thu 03-Nov-22 08:57:21

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton, with a cat on my lap and a large mug of tea!

Managed to get three beds' worth of bedding washed and dried (outside) yesterday; now to make up the beds again for the DGDs at the weekend, and get the winter duvets on. Spent a pleasant afternoon at the well-being cafe, knitting, chatting and eating cake!

A morning of pottering, then two dance classes after lunch, then home to await the Sainsbury's delivery.

Wishing all a pleasant Thursday.

kittylester Thu 03-Nov-22 09:01:02

Good morning all from a grey and damp North Leicestershire.

The plan today is to change our bed (well, my bed since I came home from hospital) which is always fun. And I need help moving my jumpers from the other wardrobe.

Later we have a Sainsbury's delivery.

Be still my beating heart!!

To all who are celebrating - have a fabulous day.

Susan56 Thu 03-Nov-22 09:06:22

Good morning from Shropshire.

I’m sorry to hear you had such a frustrating call with your GP Marydoll.I agree with GrannyGravy, it’s really not good enough. If you have the energy to deal with it could you request a call from the Practice Manager?

Gingster, I am sorry your daughter has more worries for you all to deal with.Thinking of you all💐🙏🏻

Safe journeys to all travelling, best wishes for all celebrating, and thoughts to Ash and all unwell.

Have a good day all.

EkwaNimitee Thu 03-Nov-22 09:07:51

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but nippy Carlisle. I don't mind the nippiness, I just like to see blue skies, they have been in short supply recently.
Yesterday the car was serviced and passed its first MOT. I came home to a stormy wet afternoon so it was an afternoon of reading and brain training.
Today I plan to tackle my ironing and I also have a grocery delivery but, sadly, I must contact the dentist. A wobbly crown has come off. I'm not hopeful of successful root canal work to replace it, the last time this happened with an older crown, my root canals were found to have calcified.

Marydoll I'm so sorry you're having such awful times with the NHS. If they can't/won't sort you out promptly and without you having to constantly chase them, what hope is there for rest of us with relatively minor problems?
The other day, I asked Mr Google what the world's best health services were, the NHS didn't figure in the top ten!

Wishing Ash well and everyone feeling down or poorly.

Kalu Thu 03-Nov-22 09:11:35

When I spent three weeks in another bedroom after discharge kitty, the first thing I requested be put into the room was my Nespresso Machine. 😂

luluaugust Thu 03-Nov-22 09:13:32

Good morning from a soggy wet W Kent. It was so sunny yesterday we had a drive out, stood on the doorstep for a chat with DS down with Covid and sandwich lunch in a lovely cafe we have found. Off to art this morning I really hope it is less political this week and a bit more painting.
Farview hope your journey to Dubai goes well, a friend of mine has just flown to Bahrain.
Marydoll what a carry on it all is, I think I related my husband's experience the other day of being called to an appointment he didn't need. If it wasnt so serious it would be farce.
Happy Anniversary Mr &MrsJax
Best wishes for today
