Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Glad I made it to the lunchtime concert yesterday in town yesterday, the pianist was brilliant, but I came straight home rather than having lunch there and pottering around as I usually do as I’m feeling a bit run down.
Glad to have a day at home for a change and I sent a message to thank my kind neighbour for putting out my green bin as I had forgotten and now think my son did it when fixing my car window…
The heating went on for a bit yesterday as such a horrible day, but might hold out today with an oodie.
Nice relief for you Kalu and hope Ash is making a good recovery.

Good Morning from a rather dour E Yorks.

Greyduster the made me laugh but there reports coming out of GN's struggling to get care didn't, our poor NHS and turning workers into ones who can't respond like the y used to *Marydoll" I agree its most upsetting, one has sometimes to be so "on the ball".

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Jax for the day and may all GN's have the best day possible.

I'm exhausted but my cleaner is coming and quite likes me out of the way and I'll make an effort for the gym, and have nice counsellor after that by Zoom.

Taichinan Thu 03-Nov-22 08:19:12

Marydoll that was shocking about your GP! What on earth have we come to! I'm sure the GPs themselves must be frustrated by the situation themselves - they surely went into medicine to help actual people and not words on a computer and a disembodied voice on a telephone! I'm glad your strong spirit didn't allow his dismissive attitude to win the day. 💪

Kalu Thu 03-Nov-22 08:14:15

Due to the fuel crisis, Chris Rea is walking home for Christmas!🤦🏼‍♀️

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 03-Nov-22 08:12:45

Good news Kalu and Ash hope your recovery is going well

Kalu Thu 03-Nov-22 08:11:45

Good morning all from Glasgow where it is a bit damp but I couldn’t give a toss what is happening with the weather as we are still on cloud nine. A huge heartfelt thank you again for all your very welcoming messages of support. ❤️

I hope Ash is recovering well in ICU and returns to us soon to tell us, all went well. 🤞
Just noticed it’s a special day for you, Mr&MrsJax,
Happy Anniversary 🥰🥂
I just wish all those concerned with your medical care would get their act together Marydoll. No one should be left in limbo feeling so unwell and being passed from pillar to post. Time for them to get their heads together and do their job!💐
I do like the results of your medical MOT Grey. Very witty and gave me a chuckle. 😂

No need to,go out today so it’s back to the exciting to do list.

Best wishes to all for a positive day, especially those of you coping with worries and illness.

Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Jax flowers

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 03-Nov-22 08:09:59

Marydoll so sorry about your experience with your GP an all to familiar tale I fear.
MissOops had to practically beg her GP for some pain relief yesterday and he has reluctantly given her a weeks worth, she is only 3 weeks post op and is fretting that after a week she will be left with just Ibuprofen ( she can’t tolerate Paracetamol).
I despair it’s all very well to want the NHS to survive but when you can’t get treated anyway you have to wonder…..

NannyJan53 Thu 03-Nov-22 08:07:31

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country where it rained most of the evening and night!

Lovely lunch meet up with friends yesterday at the Edwardian Tea Rooms in Birmingham. Could be an idea for a GN meet up?. I know we had one there a few years ago.

Thursday well-being walk this morning at a local country park. As it is the one year anniversary of it starting up, we are being given free hot drink and cake at the end! Some of us usually end up in the cafe there when finished. Rain is not due until this afternoon. Fingers crossed!

Hoping all is well with Ash.

Wishing you all a good day.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 03-Nov-22 08:06:31

Good morning all from bright Harrogate- yes the rain was siling down here yesterday evening.
Good to know you are still being kept busy Grandmattie but do look after yourself, too.
I, too, would like the recipe for SOAP, Urms
Sorry your DD is still having problems Gingster hope she soon sees good results.
Yesterday managed to get into York to pick up my hearing aid from the hospital. Did a little bit of shopping while there. We got back and DDwith DGD arrived. DD left her while she did some shopping. DD will come this morning to go for a long walk with DH. My bestie I used to work with is coming round for a blether.
Have the best day possible folks

Taichinan Thu 03-Nov-22 08:06:08

Sorry, pressed post prematurely then!
Farview I hope you and your DH enjoy your family visit in Dubai. Have a wonderful time.
Today I have tai chi this morning, and then I must get the place ready for a meeting with the other instructors here tomorrow. We are preparing for a workshop on Monday. It's probably more for us than for the classes - we haven't got together since before Covid and it will be "interesting" to see how much our personal interpretations have diverged. One of our international instructors once said that there is no right way or wrong way to do things in tai chi - but there are better ways of doing them. As you can imagine, that leaves a lot of scope for interpretation! Watch this space! Anyway, it will be a great way to spend a Monday (and a Friday morning!!)
Apart from that, and a sunny drive up country with my friend tomorrow afternoon, there's a quiet time ahead.
I wish I had your 'get up and go' grandmattie ....... stamina has never been my long suit, though I could win prizes for procrastination these days!
Have a good day everyone, and may all news be good news x

Jaxjacky Thu 03-Nov-22 08:06:03

Good morning from a damp S Hants. Thank you for our Anniversary wishes, we’re off to Dorset for a few days later, waterproofs required.
I too hope for good news of Ash at some point.
gMattie you remind me of that bunny in a certain battery advert, you don’t stop!
Have the best day you can all 🦩🦩

brook2704 Thu 03-Nov-22 08:05:38

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright with some blue sky but cold.
Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Jax! 🎉🥂💐
Today I’m off to meet DD2 for breakfast in a local cafe and a good catch up. I see her quite a lot but we don’t often get chance for an uninterrupted chat so I’m looking forward to that.
Hoping Ash is doing well with her recovery
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

harrigran Thu 03-Nov-22 08:04:15

Good morning from a grey NE.
Slept like a log last night, I was really tired when DD went home.
Shopping trip was not straight forward, half the smart tills were not working.
We had a leisurely lunch then watched a film, The Courier, enjoyed it. Benedict Cumberbatch played the lead well.

Good news about your DH Kalu.
Happy anniversary Mr &Mrs Jax.
Thinking of Ashcombe and Marydoll.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 03-Nov-22 08:02:31

Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire, torrential rain again last night and an email from Thames Water telling us that we still can’t use our hosepipes. Good to know.
MissOops is going home for the day and possibly overnight, I will take her and some food and meds and the Nephew will try to look after her, she is much more mobile now so he shouldn’t get as stressed as last time and ring me to collect her.
Electrician is due today to fix the conservatory roof light motors. Then I have a bit of shopping to do and some ironing, which glares at me each time I open the airing cupboard door.
Apart from that a free day.
Hope everyone who is celebrating has a wonderful day and hugs for those who aren’t quite as chipper as they would like to be.
And a huge hug for those who have sick relatives.

Marydoll Thu 03-Nov-22 07:59:19

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow.

Firstly I wanted to say how delighted I am for the Kalus.
I also hope Ash is making good progress. I'm sure we will hear when she is ready to share her news.

I managed to speak to a GP yesterday. It was actually my own GP, whom I haven't seen since before the pandemic.
Initially, I was pleased it was him, for all of about a minute! He hadn't read my notes and hadn't a clue what was going on!! He asked me what my problem was and questioned why I needed more stomach medication!
He couldn't wait to get me off the phone.
However, he got a shock, when I changed into teacher mode, after he was very dismissive of my problems and suggesting that I leave it all to my RA consultant to chase things up and perhaps I should phone him! 😡
I soon put him right on that and could hear frantic typing, as he eventually read my notes!!!

He reluctantly agreed to write to the cardiologist again, only the wrong one! (I cannot have any new meds, unless a cardiologist approves them) . After I insisted he read the previous letter from the heart research team, ( in which he was reprimanded for my lack of care) he in fact agreed, I needed to be referred to the heart research professor.
I was in despair, when I came off the phone. He has changed so much from the caring doctor, he once was. I felt as if I was wasting his time, the complete opposite from the GP I spoke to last month. 😪

I have to go and pick up more news and Mr MD will do the shopping, I couldn't face it.
On a lighter note, we had a lovely dinner with Dollie and her parents last night.
We had to play at schools, while the men watched the football.
I was howling with laughter, at her role playing! At one point, she even sent me to the Heidie (the headteacher 😱)
A tonic indeed.

Wishing you all the best day, you can, especially if you have medical appointments.

Taichinan Thu 03-Nov-22 07:47:11

Good morning all from a beautiful pink sunrise on the Angus coast. We had a tremendous storm yesterday - at one point the noise of the rain drowned out the TV! I was certainly glad I postponed taking my friend out for our usual run.
I'm so glad your DH's news was good news yesterday Kalu 🎉🎊

dragonfly46 Thu 03-Nov-22 07:41:12

Good morning from a blustery Leicestershire.

I overdid it yesterday (not on the same scale as Mattie but went to bed at 9. Quiet day until NWR this evening where I have to take a well-loved poem. I may take Christopher Robin!

Happy Anniversary Jax.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

cornergran Thu 03-Nov-22 07:41:08

Morning Mick, morning All from a soggy corner of Somerset. Big puddles out there.

Yesterday went to plan. Today? Not a plan in sight, other than a need to cook lunch, what we call a wait and see day.

I remain in awe of your energy grandmattie. Is it tomorrow you travel? If so safe and trouble free journey. Wishing you a stress free trip farview, a very happy anniversary to mr and mrs jax along with good wishes to all celebrating today.

Delighted to read your positive news yesterday kalu. Hoping to hear how ash is progressing. Love to your daughter ginster and special thoughts for all poorly people.

Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Greyduster Thu 03-Nov-22 07:38:03

Happy Anniversary, Jax and Mr Jax. Have a great day!🍾🥂

Greyduster Thu 03-Nov-22 07:36:15

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, dreary South Yorkshire where I am just having my first cup of coffee and a couple of bourbon creams. I had a phone call from an old friend of ours last night. We always have plenty to say to each other, and he’s very funny, but I think he has some health worries. It’s not so much what he said about them but what he didn’t. I sent a text to DS saying I had my annual MOT at the surgery. He asked “Any advisories?” I told him “headlights were poor and failed emissions test!”
Not much on today except to sort the freezer out.
Hope there is good news of Ash. Have the best day you can folks.

Beechnut Thu 03-Nov-22 07:31:11

Happy Anniversary to Mr&MrsJax 🥂💐

Good morning all from the Black country, dry at the moment.
Gas engineer coming today central heating not working think it could be the pump we shall see.
All blood results back I need to take vitamin D and they said cholesterol was slightly raised but nothing to worry about.
Safe journey farview and anyone else who's travelling, best wishes for anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Thursday and may you all find some 🌞.
