Good Morning Everybody ,
Its dark as usual but its dry outside , maybe a bit chilly as well .
Today , I will do direct bus to Bicester only as the X5 service as gone hourly and times would mean a arrival there later .
Anyway Guy Falkwes if spelt right today , we have a local community firework display provided at the expense of the Mercedes F1 team who are based in the town this evening.
I have received hospital appointments rearranged for next month in Oxford they seem to work around me as I gave them dates when I have booked coach trips .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dull and drizzly Black Country, after a lovely sunny day yesterday.

Just having a coffee break from the housework, nothing else planned for today. Homemade curry tonight.

Malaga sounds lovely Urms we went once in September I remember and it was very warm, just right.

Wishing you all a lovely day, and hoping to hear that Ash is ok

grandMattie Sat 05-Nov-22 11:45:39

Still nothing from Ash. I’ll pm again later.

Nannagarra Sat 05-Nov-22 11:43:19

It seems no one has sunshine Oops….

GrannyGravy13 Sat 05-Nov-22 11:41:02

Just popped back to see if anyone had heard from Ashcombe fingers crossed all is well 🤞🏻

Marydoll Sat 05-Nov-22 10:42:22

Gwen, I too have had a nebuliser for over forty years, in fact it was a family one! Avoided a lot of A&E visits for DS2 and I !
However, I have never been offered a respirator and am really curious.

Blossoming Sat 05-Nov-22 10:36:16

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s grey and gloomy in my corner of Lancashire.

Glad you got your appointment Mick. and glad to hear you’ve arrived safely GrandMattie.

Yesterday was a good day. I had my hair done, which always cheers me up. I received my next appointment with the consultant ophthalmologist, which is a worry off my mind. It’s for 9th December. Nothing planned for today, we will see what the day brings. We had a late night so will probably not be doing anything much.

Hope everyone finds something to smile about today 🌻🌻

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 05-Nov-22 10:29:46

Good Morning all from dreich Harrogate. I, too, am curious about your respirator, Mick. I had a nebuliser for a few years, but it had a lot in common with a chocolate teapot.
Glad you had a good journey GrandMattie with such a welcome.
Yesterday had a quick trip round Masham, it was beautiful in the sunshine. DH thought it too early to have lunch there, so we called at Lightwater Valley, but it was closed, then we went to the Walled Garden in Ripon but couldn't find the restaurant, so went to Morrisons - couldn't be bothered finding anywhere else closed and we know where it is!
We babysat last night for DGS, to my amazement he went to bed without argument and stayed there (there's a first time for everything!)
Got my first xmas cake baked, it's now awaiting the season!
Have the best day possible folks!

A damp dreary start here in Oxfordshire. I'm off to the hairdressers for cut and colour, I don't enjoy the process and find it boring but essential. We also have a problem with our boiler, so just the open fire to keep us warm till the problem is sorted. We've got lots of wood so it's not a problem.
Enjoy bonfire night if you're out and about, we've done some great family parties in the past, but not doing one this year. Thankfully dog doesn't mind them at all.

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 05-Nov-22 10:00:33

Good morning from a cold, damp and blustery Oxfordshire.

Today I will be mostly…. Still trying to get the tangles out of ‘Dobbins’ mane, halfway there, plenty of hair conditioner is being used and I can only do an hour at a time as it’s hard on my hands. Then he will go onto FB to sell, hopefully for some lucky childs Christmas present. He has served the Oops’s family faithfully for 17 yrs, but is now too big to keep.at least he isn’t a real horse!
I remember our Bonfire Nights when I was a child, homemade Guy ( using up any of Dads clothes that Mum thought should be thrown out) huge bonfire, with burnable stuff collect3 over the weeks, buns with sausages, homemade toffee fruit cake and shouts to Dad not to burn the fence down again. Cats and dogs left indoors with the radio on loudly and getting up the next morning to find the whole village wrapped in a smoky, gunpowder fog. Happy days.
Anyway, GM enjoy your break and have a well earned rest.
Marydoll hope you are feeling a little better from having a rest too.
For everyone else, have a good day and thoughts are with those who are unwell or have poorly family.
Surely the sun is shining somewhere ?
Urms yes we know….🤗

Wyllow3 Sat 05-Nov-22 09:41:51

I bet it was, Greyduster! I know the owner from waaaaay back and have a photo of their "Keep Calm and Eat Cake" poster from inside the cafe.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
A night of cramp after a busy day yesterday. Art in morning, run through with band in afternoon and I was persuaded to go to see a musical in the evening which turned out to be not my cup of tea at all. Pity as I had previously decided to have a really really early night as I’m driving 100 miles round trip to see close friend today troubled with macular degeneration complicated by upcoming cataracts.
Hope Ashcombe is ok and thoughts to anyone with troubles.💐

hulahoop Sat 05-Nov-22 09:35:52

It a damp morning here don't know what we are doing .Oh making a chilli for tea . Think we will have Dd and Gg at some point . Have a good day whatever you are doing.

Taichinan Sat 05-Nov-22 09:32:16

Good morning all from an Angus coast where there is a thick mist in the hollow below. In fact I feel in splendid isolation up here with my head above the clouds! The clouds will win, sadly, and rain is forecast soon.
So glad your upcoming appointments are 'just what the doctor ordered' for you Mick.
Pleased and relieved for you that your journey yesterday went well grandmattie, and what a lovely welcome. Your time for a bit of pampering and cosseting.
Greyduster happy birthday for yesterday. Those 'firsts' in the first year are so very hard, so I'm glad you had family to enfold you. My 'first' birthday came just three weeks after DH was killed and I can still, after so many years, feel the cold and desolation of that day.
Urms I would love September to be with us every month of the year! I have 'September envy'!
Enjoy your holiday brook and safe travels.
Yesterday's pre tai chi workshop meeting here went well and proved that we hadn't diverged in our teaching as much as I had feared. In fact not at all really! We're very different in our approaches though! Anyway the order of the day, and its content, were quickly and easily agreed upon. Just two of us are doing the teaching this time, with the others helping on the shop floor, as it were. So I had better get thinking and practicing! Obviously I love it, or I wouldn't be so immersed in it - so it will be an enjoyable weekend.
My 'baby' DGD thoroughly enjoyed her 17th birthday yesterday - and her first drive on the actual roads. Now all she has to do is get to the top of her driving instructor's waiting list - which might take a while unfortunately.
Now off I must go and climb reluctantly out of my full length 'ooded oodie into my winter layers of clothing. The temperature in the garden room has soared to the giddy heights of 14° now so it's probably safe to do so without getting frost bite!
Enjoy your day everyone, and healing vibes and a gentle hug or two for those who need them x

GrannyGravy13 Sat 05-Nov-22 09:27:11

Morning all

Yep, it’s grey here in S E Essex.

I am off to stock up the fridge and treats cupboard in a minute as we have the teenage and nearly teenage GSs coming to stay overnight, boy can they eat.

Sar53 enjoy your GD’s dancing

grandMattie have a great weekend with your family.

(((Hugs))) to those in need

Have your best day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning from a wet Durham. I have my sis in law here for a few days, so it’s wall-to-wall shopping! Unfortunately, sis in law found she had lost a piece of expensive jewellery while in Town yesterday, so I’ll ring the most probable store this morning, but not holding out much hope. We went with DD1 and her family to a fabulous firework display at Newcastle race course last night.
MetroCentre on the cards today where it’s likely both my DD’s and DGS will join us later.
Hoping for good news on Ash and that gM enjoys her break.

luluaugust Sat 05-Nov-22 09:17:00

Good morning from a chilly W Kent. Started the day with the ironing I should have done yesterday. Not sure what is happening today we could both do with a walk but the weather isn't very inviting. A large lorry has just arrived with scaffolding for the house over the road so that should give us something to watch.
Best wishes to all.

baubles Sat 05-Nov-22 09:14:38

Good morning all from soggy South Lanarkshire.

I’m having a very lazy morning after a busy day at work yesterday.

There will be lots of pottering, as well as a fair amount of crochet but first I need my coffee. I hear DH grinding the beans as I write.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Sar53 Sat 05-Nov-22 09:12:11

Good morning from a dull and wet Essex by the sea.

A visit to town this morning then DH will be watching the rugby this afternoon and then visiting his best friend in hospital who has just had his gall bladder removed.

Tomorrow I am off very early to DD2 in Kent. We are going to London to watch DGD1 dance in a show. I'm very much looking forward to that. I will stay the night and come home on Monday morning.

Enjoy Saturday everyone and love to all xx

Greyduster Sat 05-Nov-22 09:09:05

The cafe was serving very good cake and hot chocolate, Wyllow!

Nannagarra Sat 05-Nov-22 09:03:54

Gala! (She knows I’m pulling her leg.)
Hoping to hear from Megs36 today.

Wyllow3 Sat 05-Nov-22 09:01:34

Morning all from a grey S Yorks. Not a day to be tempted out, so I will go to the gym, and my to do list is very short!

GM what a lovely London welcome and plans

I've been thinking of one of them, Beechnut. Silver and very twinkly. But I actually have a live tree - this is its third year - that is flourishing so much I'll have to get help to bring it in.

Ah! you caught the Bot Gardens display, Greyduster! I went to try and walk there earlier but it was closed for preps, but the cafe was till open.

I hate the burning the guy bit still on a bonfire. too atavistic for me.

thoughts for Ash:

May poorlies be as well as they can and family enjoyed. I've got the pressies and written the cards, I like to be ahead of myself on these

Kalu Sat 05-Nov-22 08:57:21

Good morning all from a dreich day in Glasgow but not so chilly.

Belated Happy Birthday Grey💐I am pleased to hear you stayed overnight a your DD’s. Surrounded by loving family will have helped get you through a hard day I hope.
Safe journey Jenny/Brook. 😃. Having met Brook, she is the image of Jenny Agutter.

DD2 in Brisbane had a long FaceTime blether with DH last night, something they have both missed as she is such a Daddy’s girl. 🥰

Another at home day unless I decide I really have to do a quick grocery shop or just have a coorie doon day instead. I think I may opt for the latter.

Best wishes to all for a good weekend.

Gala Sat 05-Nov-22 08:47:55

Good morning from a cold & wet Sefton. Nannagarra - we agree, its definitely wet. DH has reluctantly taken the dog for a walk. And I refuse to get up until the bathroom has warmed up.

No plans this morning but off to a matinee this afternoon to watch DS1 in an ‘am dram’ musical. He is Dr Jekyll and/or Mr Hyde or is it vice versa.🤔 Hmm? Then takeaway for tea.

((Hugs)) for all that need one & hoping to hear that Ash is on the road to recovery.
