Morning Mick, morning All. From the little I can see it’s dry outside.

Enjoyed being outside in sunshine yesterday, a minor miracle in itself. Not so many fallen leaves here yet greyd, the avalanche is just beginning. I’ve a plan to direct todays activities towards a garden centre where I understand the Christmas display is excellent. The decent cafe will ensure Mr C’s enthusiastic agreement.

Those soap flowers are beautiful ash, that first hair wash after surgery is pure bliss but please don’t overdo it. I’m pleased you have given a date to your lodger grandMattie, it can’t have been easy. Enjoy every moment of today urms. 10 days nankate? Hope all goes well.

Take care everyone. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It is very mild but damp. Here too we are also up to the neck with fallen leaves.

Yesterday after my shopping delivery arrived DH and I popped into the city centre. I was looking for bedding but didn’t see anything I liked. I also had a good long phone chat with my friend and agreed on a date to meet up soon.

Today we are going to stock up on booze at Waitrose while the 25% offer is still on. I need to have a phone catch up with my dad and then GS coming after school.

Good to hear your DL has a date to leave GM Do not feel guilty in any way. You have gone way and above.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Blustery out there.
Last day of my history of pottery course. I'm a student and I love it. Gaelic this afternoon.
The electrician repaired the doorbell last night. I have missed that and missed a lot of visitors over the past months .
Please don't ever feel guilty gMattie. Setting a date is helpful for DL and may stop her feeling guilty . With luck something will come up first. One of her friends may offer.
What with you doing 9 loads of washing. You are her slave!
I am glad you are recovering Ash. and DGS is too.
DGD is 14 today. I shall visit them in England in a few weeks.
Hoping everyone has a good day.

Good morning Mick and All.

Hello from West Sussex where we are in charge of our two DGSs 11 and 9 for 10 days. Day 1 went fine the eldest enjoyed the iced bun we bought him and the youngest a large bottle of peach tea, what different tastes they have.

I’ve agreed to drive the eldest to school which is just under 2.4 miles away, he usually walks it !

grandMattie I think you are a saint to have your DL for so long.

Ash you soap flowers are beautiful. What a lovely gift.

Off to wake up ‘my lad’.

Good morning from Sefton where it is wet underfoot and less blustery than an hour ago - some days I wake at silly o’clock.
Meeting friends this afternoon and might deliver the prem baby hats I have made. C…versions are about to go on my knitting needles.
No need to feel guilty grandMattie. You’ve done more than enough: your DL has plenty of friends who can now step up. I’m pleased to hear you and your DGS3 are making progress Ashcombe.
Have a good Thursday.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a still dark South Yorkshire with a first glimmer of light in the Eastern sky. I don’t know about you Southern gransnetters, but we are up to our okkers in fallen leaves here. They are becoming a hazard on roads and pavements. I had a rather unsatisfactory shopping trip to M&S yesterday. All I can say is small wonder their profits are dwindling. I am having my smart electricity meter changed today. Apparently it is not sending readings properly to the energy company. Not so smart then. I think that’s a nonsense - the existing smart meter is only two years old. Anyway, we’ll see. Then I have to expect a telephone call from the surgery with the results of recent routine blood tests, so not much chance to escape the house today.
Lovely flowers, Ash! Soap, you say? Wow!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Málaga where the sky is a beautiful apricot and soft pink in this mornings sunrise. Today is our last full day as we fly home late tomorrow afternoon. I think I’ll put the sheets and pillowcases on to wash in a bit then there’s nothing to do in the morning but sweep the tiles, mop through and turn the electric off as we leave.

I’m loving my book “Lessons in Chemistry” I haven’t laughed so much in a long time whilst reading. It matches “Eleanor Oliphant” easily, albeit a different author.

Glad to hear you’ve set a date grandMattie for your lodger to work towards. Plenty of time for her and her friends to come up with an alternative now, which hopefully will only need to be short term anyway.

Love the soap Ash! Luxury soap is a real treat I think, subtly scented yet lingering.

Good morning everyone from a dry and blustery Northampton, set to be dry the rest of the day so I have just put a load of washing in the machine. Up early as I had been lying awake for a couple of hours and got bored!

Had a good coffee morning yesterday with present and past neighbours, followed by a pleasant afternoon at the well-being cafe. I finished off the cardigan sleeve as well and was able to check for size against the elderly lady it is for . She seems mighty pleased so far (fingers crossed!).

A morning of pottering, then tap and ballet classes after lunch, followed by a Sainsbury's delivery. Don't know what to have for dinner, need inspiration from somewhere.

Wishing all a good Thursday.

Good morning, all, from a cloudy Torbay. Yes, leaves late turning and dropping here where frosts are rare in normal years.

I'm pleased to say DGS3 was released from hospital yesterday evening still undiagnosed (a “virus”) but rehydrated and responding. Yesterday also saw me wash my hair for the first time in 10 days, with DH standing by as a precaution.

Friends have kindly sent beautiful flowers since I’ve been home but the photo today is not of such…… it is soap! Yes, I’ve never seen the like either but what a novel idea!

Please take care of yourself, grandMattie; many people care about you a great deal.

Good morning from s somerset and today I am leaving my car with a local garage, always has been dealership but have not been impressed with dealership recently, especially their prices.

A couple of walks today, back and there again and I need to tidy my sewing room, ready for a sewing break

So hectic for you GM, I hoped your visitors helped by clearing and tidying

grandMattie Thu 10-Nov-22 05:50:44

Good morning from a moonlit E Kent.
Yes, Mick, the leaves are not changing nor falling as early as normal. Might be global warming, might be the very dry summer then very wet autumn.
FYI I have given DL the ultimatum date of 9 December. I will have had her for 10: weeks. Plenty o help! But… I can’t help feeling guilty when it is possible that I should make her homeless if the purchase doesn’t go through on time.
Very busy yesterday. I washed and dried 9 loads of clothes and bedding, did a supermarket shop, but managed my afternoon siesta.
My Spanish homework was done. It included five slogans for fictitious products, using the imperative.
The cleaner is coming while I’m out at Spanish, the computer man will clean my pc this afternoon. Stir fry for dinner.
Hope Ash keeps on improving, everyone has a gentle day. Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩🦩
