Are you drinking enough fluids?

For a long time...years... I woke up with a headache which would usually clear by the time I had my shower. Sometimes not.
I do have an issue with my neck/shoulder and can only sleep on my right side, otherwise the pain starts.
I also have a hip issue and bought a memory foam knee pillow in Asda. JML I think. One evening I decided to try it as a neck pillow and have never looked back. No more waking up with a headache. It cost just under £20. This was after trying all sorts of neck pillows. My knee pillow travels everywhere with me. I'm pretty sure I've seen it advertised and a Google search would probably be fruitful.

Perhaps this morning's headache was the result of lying particularly awkwardly and does sound scary. I hope you are feeling better now.

I was going to say pillows to. My DH has this problem and we have about 50 pillows in our house!!!!

You've already tried different pillows which I would have suggested. If your mattress is OK too, I think you should check with the doctor.

I do Tilly and put it down to tension. They can wake me up during the night and I'll often take paracetamol then so they've gone by the time morning arrives.

I haven't eliminated them all together but do find that having a window open for fresh air during the night has helped.

Anyone suffer from these? They started about 6 months ago - probably twice a week I wake with a quite painful headache. Strangely they often disappear by the time I have had a shower and eaten breakfast. Sometimes I need to take paracetamol. I’ve tried various pillows as I do have a couple of bulging discs in my neck which I thought could be the cause. However this morning the headache was on a different level. I took paracetamol and actually sat with my phone ready to dial 999 if I experienced any further symptoms it was that bad!! I know the time has come to contact my GP but just wondered if anyone suffers the same?
