Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I shall be wearing a white poppy today with its emphasis on peace making.
Would that all those whose lives were destroyed in battle, didn't die in vain.
Quaker meeting on zoom.
It was lovely seeing my DB plus my DD and the DGC yesterday and my DSiL.
After so much wind and rain, it is another perfect Autumn day
Happy birthday toOlddudders
I'm glad you are getting about Ash

We sold our last house to the people across the road gMattie and they must have loved it as they are still there 42 years later! (They were in a divided house before)

Have a lovely Sunday everyone, however you decide to spend it.

Good morning from Sefton. It is grey & dismal here - that's just how I feel as I had a very disturbed night. Ah just noticed it's drizzling as well.

A quiet day I think apart from a visit to the farm shop for some fresh local veg & some lamb for the freezer as the "lamb man" will be there today. He is also (fairly) local & his meat is excellent.

Good to see Ash getting out into some fresh air & on the road to recovery. Take it nice & easy.

Wishing you all a peaceful day.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire.

Nothing much planned for today, usual Sunday brunch of bacon rolls and Radio 4 and a walk later.

Have a peaceful Sunday all 🌺

Good morning all from a grey, misty W Kent.
Lovely evening spent with brother and GC, curry, Strictly.
The GC enchanted by Blankety Blank, I forget they don't watch tele like we do.
Sad to hear DF is in hospital with Covid, none of the classic symptoms just felt very unwell, I am staying in touch with her husband.
We will watch the Cenotaph Service and then return GC and have lunch together.
Best wishes to all

Morning from a very misty S Yorks.

I hope the mist lifts for walkers and seasiders!

Quakers and probably the gym today. I'm not incredibly fit - its very sociable there.

Best days, GN's.

Wyllow3 Sun 13-Nov-22 09:16:51

(Ah, you can Quaker Zoom, Grammaretto, that's good. The big Central meeting does, but not my little one, tho since Covid little groups Zoom and its been great for those not able to get out and about.)

Good morning Mick and all from Oxfordshire, where the weather hasn’t made its mind up yet.

Had a good turnout yesterday ready for the Charity shops but put the items on FB first, they were snapped up by people who run 2 different Charities! So no trying to park near a Shop in town is needed.

Have a good day everyone, let’s hope the sun shines on us all.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 13-Nov-22 09:18:23

Good morning all from foggy Harrogate
Belated birthday greetings Olddudders. Glad you are getting out Ash
Nice to know you could sell your house tomorrow if need be GrandMattie
This morning, I lost a tooth! It just fell out. A molar that my dentist has been trying to persuade me to have it removed at the hospital!!

baubles Sun 13-Nov-22 09:20:00

Good morning all from gloriously sunny South Lanarkshire.

Good to hear that you able to get out for a little while Ash and happy birthday to olddudders.

Yesterday was a lazy day, now that the poppies are finished we’re onto angels so I made several which meant I spent the afternoon sitting in a chair. I’ll have to get moving today.

I’ve a cardigan to return so will pop to the shops on the way to DD’s this afternoon where we will spend an hour with the children, not much else planned other than Mass this morning followed by coffee and cake with DH who meets me afterwards.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 13-Nov-22 09:24:02

Oops it went too soon, my tooth as well!
You sound as busy as ever Marydoll don’t overdo it!!
Hoping to go to church this morning but might have to walk, the road works nearby are quite extensive, and the bus will probably be too late. I’ll be fair puggled by the time I get there
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where I plan a quiet day reading the papers and my very long novel which shows no signs of approaching a conclusion. I might go out for a stroll after lunch, as I did yesterday.. It's too nice to stay indoors. The large pond in the country park is full of water birds, I've never seen so many coots and moorhens, and the young swans are still with their parents.

Temperatures Ash....I was gardening last Friday afternoon when it was a sunny 17C. Although that was very pleasant, it also felt a bit creepy knowing what the date was. Lots of foliage and flowers still on the go.
Good to see you are getting about and Happy Birthday to Olddudders.

Had a website wishing me Happy Remembrance Day! Hardly appropriate surely. One remembers with sadness the young lives lost and not necessarily in a good cause.

Grandmadinosaur Sun 13-Nov-22 09:27:35

I love the angels baubles you are very clever.

Nannagarra Sun 13-Nov-22 09:28:23

Good morning from Sefton.
Yesterday we enjoyed the coastal route, taking in a train ride, invigorating walk, Gormley’s iron men and a lovely meal.
Happy birthday olddudders. Best wishes to everyone.

Kalu Sun 13-Nov-22 09:43:29

Good morning all from Glasgow where the sun is shining and I am enjoying watching the birds flock to the feeders I have just refilled.
Happy birthday to OD 🥂
Not much on apart from a few small to do jobs to tick off. Watching F1, DD1 and the girls visiting for a late lunch.

Have the best day possible all.

Good morning from a misty, murky and damp Northampton, but we are supposed to get sunny spells later. Looks really miserable out, very Novemberish. Had planned on trying to give the grass a final cut today, but it is soaking wet.

Had a nice warm and sunny day out at Rushden Lakes retail park yesterday, including a delicious Italian lunch (with wine!); it was quite the best spaghetti pomodoro I have had in a long time. Got what I wanted in M&S, some new vest tops, and looked round for something to treat myself to, but there was nothing else that took my fancy, not even in one of my favourite shops, FatFace.

Yesterday was elder DGD's 15th birthday, so we are going out for an early dinner at Pizza Express (her choice) late afternoon. Looking forward to that.

Having a lazy day until then; Will watch the Remembrance ceremony from the Cenotaph on tv, then catch up with the weekend newspapers. But before that will go back and read all today's posts.
Have a pleasant Sunday everyone.

Georgesgran Sun 13-Nov-22 10:00:17

Good morning from a still, grey Durham. DD’s have asked me to Sunday lunch at a local pub to them, but I’m trying to cut down my mileage having done 13,000 last year, mostly up and down between their houses - it’s a round trip of 50miles and I’ve been up 7 times in the last 10days. Sometimes, I wonder about moving nearer, but I don’t feel I’m ready yet and the upheaval is something I dread.
Cenotaph service first, then I’ll probably go - one of these days, I might not be able to and it’s nice to be asked!
🎂OD - pleased Ash is improving too.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning everyone from a dull breezy and unseasonably mild Co Armagh
I’m sitting my Daughters house , while my lovely cleaning lady works her magic
I have the breadmaker thrashing away , so hopefully , some nice bread for lunch . My sister called unexpectedly yesterday at lunch time so we finished off the last batch between us
Lovely to see you are out and about Ash
A buyer for your house will be making the Lodger get a move on grandMattie
You are a perfect dynamo, in spite of your health Marydoll puts the rest of us to shame !
Better get on with my crochet , mind you the cold weather hasn’t arrived yet so my cosy blankets are redundant so far , but they do look nice folded and ready for use on the sofa 😊

hollysteers Sun 13-Nov-22 10:21:54

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
DD left yesterday and this afternoon I have a run through with our little band here. That has made me clear the sitting room of some clutter to make room for guitarists and music stands and get some tea things ready.
Only visitors galvanise me this way, so it’s a good thing.
Still holding out on the central heating, but will pop it on for an hour or so before they arrive.
You are sounding more active Ashcombe, hope you have a more restful day grandMattie and thoughts to anyone with troubles.

Megs36 Sun 13-Nov-22 10:30:21
