I quite like watching politics at the moment, and G20 in Indonesia, because I like Dishy Rishi Sunak.. he’s looking so smart in casual clothes. 😅
Anyone else think the same..

He looks presentable, in fact quite dapper. We now have aPM who is not an embarrassment. He is representing the U.K. and appearance counts. Thank goodness Boris that self styled wreck of a PM has gone.

I am pleased to see we have a PM who looks smart but I am actually much more interested in how his politics are influenced by his Hindu religion. Although not a Conservative supporter I don't subscribe to the view that all Tories are selfish, bad people who only care for themselves. I doubt Rishi is in politics for financial gain so I am hoping his motives are in tune with the values of his religion.

Rishi Sunak went to Winchester. The school's motto is Manners makyth the Man He took it on board.

Eton's motto is Floreat Etona 'May Eton flourish' Interesting that one school motto is aimed at what it wants its pupil to be and the other at what it wants the school to do.

It has always been acceptable to criticise and judge the way female politicians dress - makes a change for the focus to be on a male politician!

Kim19 Wed 16-Nov-22 06:12:00

Rishi doesn't do anything for me appearance or otherwise. Happily that fact won't trouble him.

As long as our Prime Minister looks presentable and will be respected by other world leaders, I really couldn't care less whether he is dishy or looks good in casual clothes.

What I do not want is a shambling oaf like Boris Johnson, who looked like an unmade bed and was treated with the contempt he deserved by other international leaders.

Best laugh I've had in a while.,thanks M0nica. Certainly Rishi is Dishy- hope he lives up to his image and dishes out some good policies!

I think Rishi Sunak always looks smart, saw him in Northallerton a few weeks ago and he looked imacculate in his casual clothes.

I think the saying is - Manners make Man - it was our school motto so I did at one time in my life know the Latin version too!

Mr Burton?

😂

I think the rather fetching pink shirt was a gift from the hosts.

M0nica Tue 15-Nov-22 22:37:21

Anyone who doesn't realise that how our PM dresses and presents himself is critical to the respect this country is held in international eyes, is being naive.

Boris Johnson was an international laughing stock because of his shambling gait and ability to make the mosst expensive and best cut suit look as if he had just found it in the gutter.

Mr Burton?

What has this nonsense got to do with 'politics'? Who cares about his suits, or hair, for that matter.

I think it's just a lighthearted thread, Fleurpepper - posters above post on serious threads too.

Redhead56 Tue 15-Nov-22 21:30:50

The PM is smart intelligent and respectable. I hope he turns out a good PM and gets full support from his cabinet. That is more important than anything.

Is it fashionable to wear short trousers to highlight how incredibly expensive your socks and shoes are? I’m rather thinking of Harry Enfields ‘ I’m considerably richer than yow’ ’ character I’m afraid.

That is my point, a Prime Minister doesn't have to be competing in the best dressed man competition, just scrub up clean and look presentable, which he does. We have had the alternative so anything better than that is an improvement.

Just so. To echo above posts, better than alternatives. shall we see what his policies are on Thursday however?

But dishy - omg.....

As for hair, I'd rather they were without it than M Trump and Johnson. In fact I rather like a mature bald look think Bruce Willis.....

Rishi’s suits are very on trend. Nothing todo with tailoring.

I agree with this. But dishy, no.

lixy Tue 15-Nov-22 19:10:16

At least Emmanuel Macron didn't feel the need to straighten Rishi Sunak's tie for him as he did for Boris Johnson.

Iam64 Tue 15-Nov-22 19:05:52

I agree that Sunak’s suits are ‘fashionable’
He looks well scrubbed, presentable and as though he’s taking his responsibilities seriously. So much better than Mr Johnson who always looked as though he didn’t give a **Ck what the public he represents hoped for.

Farzanah Tue 15-Nov-22 18:07:56

Well I also think his suits looks shrunk!

Blimey I’m not sure about dressing well.

To me he looks like a teenager growing out of his clothes.

I certainly would not recommend his tailor.

He has however combed his hair and doesn’t look as if he has slept in his clothes which is something I suppose.

Your comment shows that you’re out of touch with mens fashion.
It’s only fat older men like Trump who wear long full jackets and wide trousers that trail the floor.
Rishi Sunak dresses like all younger sharp suited men.

Grandma70s Tue 15-Nov-22 16:24:08

I’m afraid looks do count for something in the television age - just as well they didn’t in Churchill’s time - but although Rishi is nice looking he’s much too short for my taste. Yes, I know I’m being shallow.

He seems as good a PM as any other Tory, but I believe he’s very right wing.

Katie59 Tue 15-Nov-22 16:24:01

Sunak is a much better prospect than his recent predecessors, BUT he is still going to be stuck with the ERG who will continue to dog him. It’s a poisoned chalice, I don’t give him much chance of success in the 2 yrs until the next GE.
