Captcha puzzles for access to websites

I would like to get my hands around the throat of the idiot who designed CAPTCHA

They are those pictorial grids which pop up when you try to access certain websites. You have to click all the squares with a certain image, for example trains, crossings, bikes etc. If you get it wrong another one pops up.

The images are of very poor quality and even people with good eyesight find them difficult. I dont know how partially sighted people manage.

The Royal Mail track and trace was down for days and is now guarded by one of these time wasters. I finally made it through several of these puzzles to track a package for a customer. Then, when I tried to track a second package, the puzzle came back.

No thank you Royal Mail! Ive now downloaded a link to a global tracking site where I can do the same work without picking out poor quality graphics from a grid.

I wish you all luck in tracking your holiday parcels that are coming by Royal Mail. They seem determined to put people off using their site

I had exactly the same issue this week! The squirrels proved very tricky, they were sometimes very well camouflaged.
Though I must say that I much prefer the picture ones to the wibbly wobbly, wavy numbers and letters that you have to decipher.
I hate those

Agreed. Also, many of them are American, and you first have to work out what you are looking for.

And I never know whether to click every square that contains a tiny bit of the image or just identify the traffic light or bicycle by clicking the main one. But yes, they are preferable to the drunken letters.

I was cursing Royal Mail yesterday. Cups of coffee but were some of them tea? I kept failing!

I got through the squirrels ok, but then chickens on beaches came up! I lost count how many I had to do angry Never saw the coffee/tea one thankfully.

Im having other problems with the Royal Mail site at present and will be ringing their tech support next week. I will make the point very strongly about the use of this device which disadvantages disabled users.
