I did my Christmas Cards yesterday ,and will send today as to the postal situation .

Late anniversary congratulations to my pal Kalu and her DH.
Maw good to see you posting.

Ziplok Tue 29-Nov-22 12:38:17

PS meant to add, special thoughts to all of you with health issues or problems.
Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs Kalu 🥂

Ziplok Tue 29-Nov-22 12:36:08

Good afternoon. It’s a very dull afternoon and was rather foggy this morning (no sunshine here). Spent the morning helping to decorate the church for Christmas. It was freezing in there as there was no heating on, but it was worth our effort as it looks very festive ready for the Christmas Fayre on Saturday and for the services throughout the Christmas season.
I think the fog might be back later, it hasn’t completely lifted to be honest.
Will tackle the ironing this afternoon after lunch.
Take care.

Happy Anniversary to Mr&MrsKalu 🥂

Good day , missed the cut off for Morning !
It’s really foggy here , I’ve no idea as to the temperature here in Co Armagh, but it’s not looking cheery !
Went to a local store yesterday , decked out for the Season , complete with sickly music !
I got a few bits , but forgot another few , not to worry , I’ll just row up the big river and fish out something
My sister is in New Zealand and sending gorgeous pictures , I visited about 25 years ago and loved it
I’m trying to do cards today , better get back to it
Still thinking of poorly or harassed friends here xx🙏🏼

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Cold improving, but a nasty cough and I have never heard myself wheezing before, it’s weird…no temperature however.
Music club cancelled and a quiet tidy up and restful day before a busy end of week when hopefully I will be feeling better.
Can’t believe the hoops you are jumping through grandMattie, what a palaver.
Thoughts as always to those gransnetters with worries 🌼

Good morning all. It's a glorious sunny blue-skied winter's day on the Angus coast - 1° and rising - and I've just lost my post. Grrr. Please take all my messages of admiration and compliments as read because I haven't got time to do it all again!
Have a good day everyone and stay warm x

ShazzaKanazza Tue 29-Nov-22 10:21:35

Morning from the train from Oban. Haven’t read everyone’s posts yet but getting settled for the journey to Glasgow. We’re just passing Loch Awe with it’s beautiful brooding hills around it. So lovely.

The passenger behind me has coughed and spluttered for the last ten minutes so I’ve dug my mask out and am hoping for the best!

I noticed your photographs Ginny, they’re really interesting.

Also want to say how much I admire you MOMB, a real work of charity.

Wishing everyone a good day🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Durham. A cold, crisp, frosty morning with an icy blue sky today. Far better than the awful foggy day we endured yesterday. It was interesting to see some cars lit up like Christmas trees, while others, especially older ones didn’t bother with any lights at all. I wonder how many drivers with daytime running lights actually realize most aren’t showing any rear lights? Perhaps GNs reading this could have a look and see if it applies to them. It was quite disconcerting in the thick fog to see a fog light in the distance, but then become aware of another car in between, without any rear lights.
My plans for today have been abandoned, because I have been coughing so much through the night that I feel exhausted. However, like others, my Christmas cards won’t write themselves and I need to decide how many decorations I want, given the house will be unoccupied over Christmas.
Nice to see Maw back too.
Best wishes to all. X

Dragonfly Happy Birthday to your DH🎂
Kalu Happy Anniversary 🥂🍾
Urms well done on the weight loss 👏👏 I could definitely do with losing a couple of stone … need to get myself motivated. It’s so much harder to lose it as you get older IMO anyway!
grandMattie I think we’re all counting down the days with you! What a wonderful person you are 😇
MaryDoll So glad to read that Dollie is feeling much better. Hope today is a better day for you too.
MOMB Enjoy your free time. I expect the house feels quiet now. You did a wonderful thing - I take my hat off to you.
Pittcity I hope your mums’ health continues to improve.

Blossoming Tue 29-Nov-22 09:35:05

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cold and foggy in this corner of Lancashire.

Nothing planned for today, other than writing Christmas cards. I am aiming to have them posted off this week.

GrandMattie you have absolutely nothing to be shamed for! Unlike the demanding visitors, perhaps.

Hope all our poorly grans and family members are on the mend. Wishing you all a good day.

grandMattie Tue 29-Nov-22 09:29:47

Congratulations on the weight loss, Urms; I know how hard it is.
Welcome 33gill. 👋

harrigran Tue 29-Nov-22 09:21:02

Good morning from a cold but dry NE.
Need to motivate myself and get some work done today. Yesterday I felt really down and was quite tearful after I went to put some letters in a cupboard and the box contained all the condolence cards 😢
I have bought cards but not sure I will send as many this year, DH's family have not contacted me since his death.
My sister, who lives abroad, apparently had a fall on Saturday while she was at a seasonal fete in a church. Bad position as she hit a pillar and bruised her face and fell on her knees. Looks like she will need assistance at the airports again when she comes to the UK in two weeks. She seems to have a lot of falls, nothing to do with footwear as she always wears sensible shoes.
Well done grandMattie, not long now.

SunshineSally Tue 29-Nov-22 09:19:48

Good morning everyone from an overcast and damp south Hants. Lovely lunch out with DD yesterday which was an unexpected treat.

Today DH has gone to stock up on free wood for the log burner and then off to buy some Duplo from Facebay for our stock of toys for when the GDs come over.

Not much planned for today - waiting on DH to measure up for carpet in bedroom 3 and then a trip to carpet barn to purchase a suitable off-cut as it’s only a small room. A visit to Dunelm may be on the cards too - for some curtains!

However DDog has fallen asleep on my lap so I’m sorely tempted to stay put for a while longer …. DCat is also asleep perched on the back of the sofa!

Have the best day you can everyone. Thoughts to those with worries and/or unwell🦩🦩🦩

Hugs and 💐💐 for you all x

Kalu Tue 29-Nov-22 09:17:25

Good morning all from Glasgow where it is a bit damp outside however the sun is hopefully pushing through and no chilly wind.

A visit to a local garden centre in the search for more bulbs and netting to protect them in the pots before birds and squirrels decide to dine on them.
It will seem so strange living in a quiet house again MOMB. Lovely to hear the family now have a home of their own. What you have done for this family is admirable. Enjoy a well deserved return back to normal.
Glorious uplifting photos this morning.
Today is our 48th wedding anniversary. Nothing special planned, just happy to be celebrating another one after the worry of the last few months.

Best wishes to all for a good day and a better one for all with worries and illness.

luluaugust Tue 29-Nov-22 09:15:17

Good morning all from W Kent. I see your DL is on her way to us today gM I will be on standby! I have decided to start a bit of parcel packing as it makes my back and bad shoulder ache, so a little at a time is the way to go I think. The card writing is under way but apparently we haven't got enough religious cards, not sure who DH has in mind. Sorry you didn't get to Bluewater Sars NW Kent is a nightmare with traffic from now until the New Year.
Best wishes to all

Good morning from Shropshire.

Yesterday went well.We got most of the shopping we needed and had a lovely lunch out.

I had thought I was organised with Christmas presents but had a message from DD last night saying DGD is telling everyone Santa is bringing her what I have bought.DD has asked if she can have the gift I bought to give from Santa and I will have to find something else!

Mary, I am so pleased to hear Dollie is feeling a bit better.

Urms, well done on the weight loss💪🏼💃🏻

A quieter day today hooefully. The plan is to write Christmas cards but as Maw said I too have said that before.

Have the best day you can everyone.

BlueSapphire Tue 29-Nov-22 08:55:57

Good morning everyone from a very dull and overcast Northampton,.set to be like this all day, and for the next week, by the look of the weather forecast. Have reluctantly put the tumble dryer on or otherwise the bedding won't get dried.

A good visit to the optician yesterday; relieved that I didn't need to have new glasses, but then I was seduced by their huge range of lovely sun-glasses. I have been hankering after some prescription sunnies for a long time,.but couldn't really justify the extravagance before. They will be lovely for my trip to southern climes in February.

Then had a walk around an absolutely huge charity shop in town, found the complete first season box set of The West Wing, and then a Penelope Lively paperback that I hadn't read, so came out well pleased.

A morning of gentle pottering, then out for a well-being walk after lunch - will need walking boots today as it will be muddy.

Wishing all a pleasant Tuesday.
