I have just booked for us to see The King and I at our local theatre in March.

To be honest we are more into Jools Holland and Tribute artists but the thought of a full orchestra and lovely clothes encouraged us to buy our tickets.

Has anyone ever seen the Show or even the original with Yul Brynner ?

I took my daughters, then very young, to see the show, Yul Brynner and Virginia Makenna , it was most enjoyable

Yes I saw it at our local theatre a few years ago. You will love it I’m sure.
I saw the other day that Helen George from Call the Midwife has joined the cast for the new tour. If this is the same show you will be in for a treat.

The film has Yul Brynner in it, but the stage shows have different people.

I first saw this wonderful musical show in the stage in London back in the 1950's. Absolutely breathtaking. Can also rememebr walking past the Drury Lane theatre (where it was staged), during the daytime then, and seeing hundreds of people queueing up outside with their children, waiting to audition for parts as the Siamese children.

Musicals on the stage are one of life's truly memorable experiences.

I’m so pleased I booked now.

In my youth my dad and I saw ‘West Side Story’ in Oxford, breathtaking. ‘My Fair Lady’ in London. ‘Bye Bye Birdie’ what fun.

It's fabulous. I went with DH a few years ago. I have booked again for March with our daughter and granddaughter. I joined Ents24 and put people I like on it and they email me when they are touring so we have great seats.

My sister took my mother to see the |Yul Brynner version on stage in London. I believe mother cried all the way through at the beauty of the stage set and the music not to mention the wonderfulness of Mr Brynner. I love the film and always watch it if it's on. I hope you enjoy your evening NanKate.
