You’ve come to the right place dusty, lots of friendship here and unlimited cake. I hope your past troubles and difficulties are definitely behind you now 💐

Whoops, I meant to say that having thought about things but NOT posted, I plan to stay in here for a while and relax. I might give King a stroke and biscuit before I curl up. The biscuit is for him the stroke is for me. smile

After a happy day I slept badly probably because fairly late I read one of the threads about grooming elderly relatives. It brought back a very difficult and unhappy time in my life.
However, today I typed out a reply, photographed it and posted it. I hope I’ve managed to put it behind me, have come in here in search of friends and cake and I’m going to curl up in a corner and feel the friendship.

Away to do the ironing. Hey ho!

soop Tue 24-Jan-23 14:33:00

You are such a lovely lot. I have said so umpteen times...and I shall continue to do so. flowers

Grandmabatty Happy nappy changing! Bless you.

Nannytopsy Now that your dear husband has been diagnosed he will benefit from the exercises prescribed for him. Vertigo is unpleasant. However, it is treatable. A gentle hug for the patient. wink

Hellogirl Listen to your body. It knows best. smile

dustyangel The photograph is charming. The grin, minus a tooth, perfectly sums up childhood.

Grannmarie Teaching a child how to call for assistance (if needs be) is an excellent plan.

brook2704 Tue 24-Jan-23 14:31:44

Good that your DH has had a quick diagnosis nannytopsy and hopefully it can be sorted soon
Sounds like you’re having a fun filled day grandmabatty - enjoy!

I’ve been out for a coffee and a bit of shopping this morning with DD2, a very last minute arrangement as usual. But I don’t mind as it’s always nice to be asked. I’m just home now for an hour or so before heading off to pick up DGD, take her to her dance class, hang around for a bit and then take her on to her choir practice. It’s all go for an 8 year old these days! We offered to help out on a Tuesday as she’s such a lot going on at a busy time of day for everyone.

A tough time ahead for your friend grannmarie I’m sure she’ll appreciate your visit with your sister though
Hoping you’re feeling a bit better today hellogirl

Afternoon kitcheners. Dgs2 has worked out how to switch my table lamps on and off 🙄. He is exceedingly proud of his latest achievement and demonstrates it A LOT!!! In other news, we are playing with other things. He loves his toy guitar and we make up songs. Lentil soup for lunch which went down a storm. Off to change a nappy. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

Thank you, Kitty, I'm glad you are resuming normal service now!🥰

After a restful day yesterday, I am up and ready to head out to morning Mass. I will light candles and say a wee prayer for all who need/wish one . Then DSis 1 and I are visiting a friend in hospital this afternoon. She had her leg amputated before Christmas, now awaiting the Care Package to allow her home. She is amazing, still in good spirits after such a trauma.

Wishing everyone the best day possible. 💕

Nannytopsy Tue 24-Jan-23 07:46:08

Thank you all for your support for DH. Now to start the exercises …
We have a few days of normality before we get the granddog for a week. DiL has asked us to have their 3 miniature dachshunds for a week before Christmas this year …

That must have been a really scary time grannmarie. The worry will abate I'm sure

So glad you got your book back, Hello. Phew!

Sorry to hear about your ongoing problems soop. It does sound as though a solution on the way.

Hope you have avoided covid, jaxjacky and good to hear your DH got a prompt diagnosis and treatment plan, Topsy.

Sending love to everyone in soop's lovely kitchen.

Aldom Mon 23-Jan-23 23:00:48

My thoughts are with you Soop.

Grannmarie Mon 23-Jan-23 22:25:22

Thank you, Jaxjacky, crossed posts! I hope your DD recovers quickly, and you and your DH manage to avoid it. 🤞

Grannmarie Mon 23-Jan-23 22:22:45

Nannytopsy, glad to hear that your DH has a diagnosis and a care plan, I hope he feels better soon.
Thank you, Dusty, LLL and Hellogirl. Happy birthday to your DD, Dusty, lovely photo!
I've had a very restful day, dozing, watching TV, my biggest effort was making a pot of soup. I've set timers on Alexa and my phone, to remind me to take the new medication. So far so good!🤞

Thank you all so much for your kindness to me today, it means a lot. TOYA, NNGB. 💐🙏

Jaxjacky Mon 23-Jan-23 22:22:20

Sorry to hear of illness in the kitchen, I have sympathy Granmarie.
Daughter phoned early today, they visited yesterday, she has Covid, oh joy, we’ll stay alert.
Just got in from our local’s pub quiz, a man down in our team, we didn’t do well, but it’s great fun.
Nearly sorted all the lift requests I picked up today in my volunteering role, two to sort tomorrow.
Sleep well all x

Hellogirl1 Mon 23-Jan-23 22:00:21

Hoping all who are/have been poorly are feeling much better now. I ache all over today, and am reluctant to move about, but needs must.
TOYA xx

dustyangel Mon 23-Jan-23 20:25:36

Granmarie I hope, I hope you are feeling much better soon. 💐

Hello all. Commiserations to all those suffering in various ways🌹
We had a lovely day with old friends of ours in Hemel Hempstead. We’ve known one another over 40 years. I’m afraid we had to exchange health news first! All four of us have various health issues. I think someone said that getting old wasn’t for wimps! The roads were being gritted on our way back home so icy roads must be predicted. Have a good evening. I think dinner may be a slice of Barmbrack topped with a slice of butter. Maybe a martini too🥴

dustyangel Mon 23-Jan-23 20:20:05

I’m glad that your husband has a diagnosis Nannytopsy. Vertigo is horrible but I’ve heard that the excerises work well.

My older DD’s birthday, lots of congratulations posted for her on social media. Her younger sister posted this lovely old photo that I took when she was three or four. She’s fifty five today! Can’t show the next photograph from younger daughter as it identifies them together now but she’d quoted at the top, “Friends by choice.” They are good friends now, they weren’t always! grin
She’d knocked her tooth out falling from the climbing frame at playgroup.

Nannytopsy Mon 23-Jan-23 18:28:27

Our GS1 has hollow legs too!
Great service from the NHS - DH has vertigo and exercises to do to sort it. Hopefully it will clear before too long!

Yiayia4 Mon 23-Jan-23 18:18:35

Enjoy Grandmabatty.🍸

Grannmarie Mon 23-Jan-23 18:14:49

Grandmabatty, DH jokingly suggested that we should teach the wee boy to dial 999, that's his attempt at humorous decontamination ! Enjoy your GnT, as Brook says, you've earned it!.

brook2704 Mon 23-Jan-23 17:51:00

But you definitely deserve it grandmabatty ! hope you get a rest this evening

Grandmabatty Mon 23-Jan-23 17:46:47

Yiayia and Grannmarie dgs1 then complained he was still hungry so he polished off dgs2's bag of carrot puffs. He was tired and lay on the couch but brightened up once I dropped him at home. Grannmarie it is a worry, isn't it? I'm going to teach dgs1 how to use my phone to call mummy, just in case. Ladies, I'm pooped. I'm having a gin and tonic before dinner. Unheard of on a Monday!
