Once again, thank you all for your most welcome company. flowers

soop Fri 27-Jan-23 13:18:59

Okey dokey. I shall wander over to our new kitchen and open the door.

soop Fri 27-Jan-23 13:17:56

I have been organising our new gathering place. Just making sure that everything here is clean and tidy. We are a fussy lot, when the mood takes us. grin

soop Fri 27-Jan-23 13:15:44

Our friend's visit was one of mixed blessings. She was comforted by sharing her sorrows regarding her beloved aunt.

soop Fri 27-Jan-23 13:13:56

Charleyg We are almost there. Lovely to spend time with you. x

soop Fri 27-Jan-23 13:12:55

Charleyg That "minx" was waiting for breakfast. He then wandered away and we are expecting his return. Mr Soop purchased a ginormous carton of tasty pouches of high quality feline food when he went to Tesco. He also spent an arm and leg on bird seed, peanuts and fat balls from the local shop. I ask you wink

Charleygirl5 Fri 27-Jan-23 13:11:59

soop do you want to chat until our time is up?

soop Fri 27-Jan-23 13:08:24

SueD May your dear son's treatment help him along the road to recovery.

kitty Excellent news of your daughter. A happy day for the family.

Charleygirl5 Fri 27-Jan-23 13:06:27

soop has that minx popped in for 3 lunches or whatever he can get? Where does the food go? At least he knows he will never starve.

soop Fri 27-Jan-23 13:01:24

All done! Now to remake the bed with clean sheets and pillow cases. I love the thought of slipping into bed a good few hours hence.

Urms Welcome home. Also, welcome news of your stepfather. He is safer in his cosy home, especially if you have icy pavements. We still have mild weather hereabouts.
Your meal in the steakhouse sounds delicious, although, as you say, pricey.

soop Fri 27-Jan-23 12:22:55

Dear You lovely lot, I have not forgotten you. Far from it. We will need a new kitchen VERY soon. I hope to catch up with your latest messages when I return from stripping (the bed).

Doodle Fri 27-Jan-23 11:30:38

Soop so sorry to hear the news of your friend. A sad time.
Suedonim hoping your son's treatment goes well and the side effects are not too bad.
Thinking of all with health problems and other worries today.

Nannytopsy Fri 27-Jan-23 10:42:49

Good news Kitty and best wishes Sue.
DS & DGS2 arrive today. He’s growing so quickly! I have a new jumper for him which I finished last night but fear it’s a bit short. Is it the shape of our family or do other people have this problem?

Jaxjacky Fri 27-Jan-23 09:26:57

I can understand your ‘fidgets’ SueD my very warm wishes to you all.

brook2704 Fri 27-Jan-23 08:35:40

Wishing your son all the very best with his treatment SueD, hoping all goes as well as it possibly can

Grandmabatty Fri 27-Jan-23 08:31:48

The best of luck to your son Suedonim. I wish him, and all of you who are poorly, well.

Susan56 Fri 27-Jan-23 08:03:26

Wishing your son well Sue, a difficult journey for you all but I too echo Granmarie’s post💐

Brilliant news kitty.Wishing you and your daughter continued strength and good health💐

soop💐

Grannmarie Fri 27-Jan-23 07:56:23

That's great news, Kitty. Wishing your DD well for the future.

DS1 had dropped DGD off, it's a school strike day in their area. It's cold and frosty outside, I have a cosy bed ready for her in the GC room, so we are having a long lie!🤞

kittylester Fri 27-Jan-23 07:17:04

I echo grannmarie's post, sue.

DD1 has finished all her cancer treatment apart from the ongoing hormones. The NHS at its best.

Grannmarie Thu 26-Jan-23 23:27:28

Hello 👋 SueD, your DS is on the first day of his journey to improved health. I'm wishing him well, hoping and praying that he doesn't suffer too much from side effects.
Thinking of you 💐🙏

SueDonim Thu 26-Jan-23 23:11:24

That’s such awful news, Soop, and such a shock to the system. flowers

Good luck tomorrow, Blossoming. Thinking of you wishes also to all who are under the weather or feeling sad right now. flowers

That’s excellent news about your SF, Urms!

My ds began his course of chemo today. He’s messaged to say he’s on his way home from hospital now and waiting for side effects to strike. I’ve not been able to think of much else today.

I’ve been keeping busy, the usual things we all do, though helped by the nicer weather. Not as warm as Spain(!) but dry and sunny - I’ll take that, in January!

One little anecdote before I go. I expect you’ve noticed the crescent moon. I was out with my 5yo GD when the moon was quite low and she complained that she didn’t like it. Why ever not, I asked her. ‘It’s following me!’ she complained. I know we grandmas are pretty omnipotent but truly, there wasn’t much I could do about that! grin

Jaxjacky Thu 26-Jan-23 22:00:00

Good luck tomorrow Blossoming 👍

brook2704 Thu 26-Jan-23 21:44:19

Good to hear your stepfather is doing so well Urms 👍

Oreo Thu 26-Jan-23 21:16:44

Oh dear, there do seem to be many sad stories and ill health for GN members and their friends and families.flowers
I guess Winter is a bad time all round, it sure is cold enough at the moment and there’s all kind of bugs around too.Roll on Summer, hey?
Has anyone read the latest Richard Osman book? I was given this as a gift but haven’t started it yet. Also given a book by Hilary Mantel called Fludd, not sure it’s my cup of tea tbh.
After a long walk mid morning with DP, back to look after twin babies, not mine, but DD’s.They are good little things but crawl about everywhere so need constant watching.😄

‘Evening All’

We went over to take a small shop and sit for an hour with my stepfather at noon today. He looks well! He’s not been out of the house this year - not like him at all - but with regular visits by the district nurse (now finished), the ice and snow last week, I think he’s been very sensible. Keeping himself cosy, rested after all his recent trauma and enjoying his good foods from M&S. I’m not worried any more about him, for now at least.

We’ve just got in from a restaurant we’d not been to here in the town centre before. A steakhouse. The food reminded us with the delicious smells on arrival of the old Berni Inns. Remember those? Happy memories. The steaks were delicious. Mind you with bill at £90 for 2 steaks, 2 wines and sides - no starters, dessert or coffees - we’d go again but at those prices it’s expensive on our budget.

I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow Blossoming.
Andsoop more sadness to bear. 💐
Neine Good the divorce settlement is behind you both.
Rest up Grandmabatty your batteries need recharging.
