My dishwasher wasn't draining properly (it was in the house when I bought it so no idea how old it is!). Called in someone to fix it and asked if he thought I should replace it. His reply was to keep it as he spends more time repairing and replacing parts to the newer machines than he does to the old ones which were built to last and seem to go on forever.
We have a friend that fixes washing machines and dishwashers for a living, and he said the same thing. Even a new Bosch is not as good as an old one.
