Good morning from E Kent.
I’m opening for Mick Whois enjoying Scarborough, I believe.
Shall post and add my penny worth in a minute.

Good morning everyone from a very frosty Northampton, -3° again. Sun not appeared over the back roof-tops yet.

Had a good walk with the group yesterday, there were about 10 of us; we made it a shorter walk than usual as it was cold and patches of black ice, but we did 45 minutes, and were ready for our hot drinks at the sports centre cafe afterwards.

Out this morning to the nearby garden centre for coffee with neighbours and ex-neighbours. We have decided to walk as it is only 15-20 minutes. Not been there for ages so will be glad of a good browse around.

Take care all those who have journeys today. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Beechnut Wed 14-Dec-22 08:21:27

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Another cold one.

I’ll go back and read properly later but I see you’ve been that busy Oops that you’ll need another holiday.

My friend arrived for a quick visit yesterday and told me I hadn’t been swimming lately. I asked her how she knew and she said she had checked at swimming pool reception 🤣

A bit of pottering this morning and off out for a few hours this afternoon. I will wrap up warm walk to venue.

Have a good day all 🦩🎄

Good morning all from a frosty Black country -5°.
Nursery pick up last one of the year then home to make a start on present wrapping.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Take care everyone and may you all find some 🌞

Nannagarra Wed 14-Dec-22 08:19:18

Yes, a very cold (-3C) and frosty morning 🎼 as Gala says here on the Sefton coast.
Yesterday I went to DGD’s delightful nativity. Yoga with music, essential oils and candlelight completed my Tuesday.
A visit to the singing reindeer at a garden centre, then home to play table tennis with the DGC form our plans today.
Sending best wishes to everyone.

Morning all from S Hampshire, as Sally said, -2. Tree up yesterday and decorations too, bits and bobs to finish at leisure. I’m out for lunch with a friend later, everywhere is very booked up.
Thanks for opening gMattie I can understand you wanting loose ends tied up.
Very sad Susan I remember that time with my Mum.💐
Enjoy your day all if you can 🦩🦩

Marydoll Wed 14-Dec-22 08:14:18

Grandmabatty, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I hope it will be a mild dose, if you test positive.

Shazza, a good result, always worth the rummaging!
My husband had the same opinion of yours, until he found golf stuff in TKMaxx, then he was hooked! 😁

brook2704 Wed 14-Dec-22 08:10:35

Oh no, hoping you’re feeling a bit better soon grandmabatty take care
Also sorry to hear about your sadness about your mum Susan 💐

Marydoll Wed 14-Dec-22 08:08:42

Good morning all, its -11°C once again here in Glasgow.

At least the all day freezing fog of yesterday is gone.
My trip to Matalan and Sainsbury's was a nightmare, with roads gridlocked, due to roadworks and the fog.
I'm actually quite proud of myself. After sheilding finished, I had totally lost confidence and became quite anxious about driving, even in good weather, never mind freezing fog.
Yesterday, my only anxiety was, I couldn't remember how the fog lights worked. 😁

A day indoors for us, the cold weather is causing all sorts of respiratory and problems for me, despite throwing caution to wind and having the heating on all day.

Tonight, for the first time ever on a school night, we have Dollie overnight, because her parents have a function in Glasgow. I need to hide all the Christmas presents lying in the spare room, Dollie misses nothing!
I used to get three children out to school in the morning and then get to my own school, I suspect tomorrow morning may be more difficult! 😉

Susan, I'm so sorry to hear about your mum, we had the same situation with my mum and MIL. 💐

Good to see you home safely Oops and well done for thinking of your volunteers' wellbeing, Baubles.

Hope your trip is going well, Mick.

I haven't really read the posts properly yet, so I may be back!

ShazzaKanazza Wed 14-Dec-22 08:05:08

Hoping you feel better soon Grandmabatty 💐

Gingster Wed 14-Dec-22 08:05:04

Good morning all. No frost this morning.

Not much on today but I’ll walk up to town and pop into M and S food hall to get some nibbles for our choir social this evening. We’ll be entertained by various members doing a turn , singing, playing instruments , poetry readings or stand up comedy. It’s usually very good.

Goodness me GG your little gs does have a good appetite! My 7 yr old gd eats like a little bird. I don’t know how she survives. 😢.

Susan sorry to hear about your mum. Very sad 💐.

Hope the bed man arrives sooner rather than later GM. 🤞.

Hope the day is ‘good’ for you all. 🙏

brook2704 Wed 14-Dec-22 07:58:59

Good morning everyone from Inverness, we had a lot more snow yesterday and still very low temperatures, everything is very white and frozen outside
I had a lovely long Christmas lunch out with my pal yesterday, really enjoyed it. Today I’m off to the gym for a dance class followed by the aqua class, at least I’ll be nice and warm!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

karmalady Wed 14-Dec-22 07:58:56

Good morning from s somerset and an overcast sky

I am going to play cheerful cds today and do some baking and prep for mini mince pies which I will freeze in their small tins, for my diddy air fryer as and when

I didn`t do much at all yesterday, felt whacked after clearing up after my guests, so I gently pottered all day and went to bed at 9. I have become used to living on my own now, first time ever in my whole life was seven years ago when I was widowed. I keep a cosy home for myself and now relish being able to do exactly what I like

GM I hope that bed is shifted in good time, most often completion happens on a friday. I do hope it happens today and most of all I do hope you get a lovely letter and flowers saying how kind and thoughtful you have been flowers

Gala Wed 14-Dec-22 07:55:40

Good morning from a cold & frosty Sefton. The sky seems very clear, the moon is still very bright. Lots of car scraping going on out there.

Will kick off with my usual Wednesday morning dance exercise class on Zoom. Nothing else planned for today except staying in, pootling around & keeping warm.
Take care out there.

BlueBalou Wed 14-Dec-22 07:53:08

Good morning, yet another -3° start here in Wiltshire, everything is so icy outside.
Not a lot happening here, we hung thermal linings in the living room curtains yesterday so that should help a bit, I will do the same in the bedroom when they arrive.
The Ocado delivery van driver got stuck in snow and ice yesterday, she phoned to say that and then there was a big scrunching noise and someone had driven into the van! Poor woman, I did feel sorry for her. Hopefully they’ll deliver this morning sometime.
Hope today goes well for you all x

Grandmabatty Wed 14-Dec-22 07:48:51

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -9° and clear skies. It's a quick visit from me as I feel very unwell and think it's covid. I've run out of tests so I'll have to stay home til I can get some delivered. Have a good day all

Ashcombe Wed 14-Dec-22 07:42:44

Good morning, all, from a very cold Torbay but none of the forecast white stuff! Thank you for opening up, grandMattie, and I hope the bed man cometh as planned. What a relief to reclaim your home!

A late start today as I was awake in the night and decided I was hungry so a hot X bun (thanks, Lidl) and a cuppa helped me to settle.

I’m sorry to hear about your Mum, Susan56, and can understand your sadnesss.
You’ve been busy, Oopsadaisy1! The weather should be milder from Sunday in the SW although it’s been severe in Cornwall in the last couple of days.

Yes, thanks, olddudders reached his home safely at tea time yesterday. Your good wishes yesterday morning were also appreciated. It does seem quiet here after six weeks of mostly being indoors together!

I shall have to wrap up well to collect my prescription this morning. Luckily, it’s only a few minutes' walk from home.

Take care, everyone, and stay well and warm! 🦩🎅🏼🎄⛄️🦩

Grammaretto Wed 14-Dec-22 07:40:58

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
It's minus 6°C and the snow hasn't melted at all. Last Yarn group of the year so we'll have scones or mince pies with our coffee. That's if everyone can come. Some of our members are rural but perhaps they have 4x4s and snow tyres.
I am glad I don't have travel plans as it must be very difficult.
This evening there's a social for the volunteers at the community store.

Very sad for you Susan56 ((hugs))
There is bound to be a feeling of anticlimax gMattie now that DL has finally left.
Enjoy your peace.

Wow Oops! You are having a busy time.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Pittcity Wed 14-Dec-22 07:37:39

Good morning from a dark, cold Colchester where it's not as frosty as of late. It was very slippy out yesterday.
Today is our weekly coffee meetup in the city centre followed by a Christmas lunch for the group in another cafe. I have ordered fish so as to not get turkeyed out!!
I must hunt out my Christmas earrings.
Love to all 🦩 x

GrannyGravy13 Wed 14-Dec-22 07:35:56

Just getting light here it’s-1

The 7yr old has just demolish a plate of bacon, scrambled eggs & hash browns. Before his 8am school start, his last sleepover this year.

cornergran Wed 14-Dec-22 07:35:05

Morning grandmattie, morning All from a dry, cold corner of Somerset.

Little done yesterday, resting mostly as feeling generally yucky. Hoping to get the dust removed and some grocery shopping done today.

My thoughts are with everyone with worries of any kind. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 14-Dec-22 07:33:32

Kitty where my uncle lives in Bridlington there is a fish and chip shop who do gluten free all day and they are very nice so I occasionally treat myself. X

baubles Wed 14-Dec-22 07:32:24

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s -10*
Yesterday the freezing fog didn’t lift at all.

I’m working today and will be keeping the door closed and all available heating on, I don’t think it’s reasonable to have volunteers freezing.

Today marks the beginning of the end of my sixties, life goes by in the blink of an eye.

Have the best day possible everyone.

SunshineSally Wed 14-Dec-22 07:30:00

Good morning from a cold south Hants where it’s currently -2.
Quick dip in today as today is first MOT of my car and I need to get up and out for early appointment whilst DH takes GD2 to school. Oh and I need to fit a dog walk in before I go!
Hopefully I’ll be back to read your posts later.
Have the best day you can folks - thoughts to those feeling under the weather 🦩🦩
Hugs and 💐 for you all x

ShazzaKanazza Wed 14-Dec-22 07:29:31

Good Morning grandMattie and everyone from Hull. I peeped through the blinds and I think it’s still white over with the deep frost. It looks beautiful and sparkling though in the sunshine.

Susan I’m sorry you have worries with your mum making you so sad💐 these ageing parents are such a concern. I’m seeing Mum today and my Dad on Sunday and I seem to give them extra tight hugs now when I leave them.

I’m visiting my uncle today so first I need to get his shopping then pick up Mum and get over to Bridlington. Mum is worried about the roads but I said the main ones will be ok.
Marydoll I bought a black sparkly dress and a sequin top from TKMAXX yesterday so cheap it was really worth the rummage. I’ll be doing that again but definitely without DH rushing me.

Have a good day everyone. Safe journeys. Hoping those suffering stress have moments of relief today. 🌻🎄

kittylester Wed 14-Dec-22 07:21:08

Good morning all from a bitterly cold and very dark North Leicestershire.

A day of wrapping and parcelling up today especially the present for my brother as he is calling in this afternoon. Fish and chips for tea from the chip shop in the next village which specialises in gluten free food.
