Definitely a BAD granny. I wear short skirts, bright coloured clothing, lots of jewellery. I love to travel. All three GC have always appreciated the fact that we don’t organise them. They come here and hang out - if they want to paint, cook or play games we are up for it but if they just want to sit quiet and look at a book or watch a movie we go with it.

Our granddaughter calls me 'glam nan'. That'll do.

I'm a bad granny,I swear ,nothing bad but GD wished she had brought her swear box the last time she stayed but she has booked herself in again. She knows just how far to go.
My GS thinks both DH and I are great because we let him disappear into a corner when he wants to and just leave him alone .
I agree with Joseanne I enjoy the freedom of not being ultimately responsible for them and luckily these days have more money than their parents to buy little treats. I used to worry about what others thought when I was a mum.

Having been very restrained and proper as a mother, and overly concerned with what people thought, I am enjoying a freer approach as a grandma. I think the new generation of grandmas are great, but I hope we never arrive at a point where courtesy and inner quietness in later years become looked upon as banal and ridiculous.

There's a lovely book called Two Bad Grannies I read it to my GCs when they were little. They think I have never quite managed the transformation at the end!
