Christmas light trail and hot chocolate

Seems event drinks are becoming more like German Christmas Markets - buy a cup or bring one. We have a huge selection of Glühwein crockery cups, collected over the last 20 years. Now we take stainless coffee flasks.

I attend these lovely occasions expecting to be ripped off and do as much self sufficiency as I can manage by way of flask or snack.

All the Christmas Markets and attractions this year seem to really be trying to make their entire year’s takings in these few festive weeks. The prices are extortionate.

They charge for the disposable cup to encourage people to use reusable cups. Most chains give discounts to people bringing their own cups.

Have to admit I am completely out of date with charges for hot drinks at commercial outlets. A few weeks ago I told my nephew I would not pay £3 for a coffee. He laughed and told me I was living in cloud cuckoo land.

It didn't help that it was so sweet a struggled to drink it.

The Botanic Garden trail in Edinburgh is extortionate to visit even before buying over priced hot drinks.
'Christmas' activities seem a license to charge a fortune.

I hate to say it, but that's cheap compared to some of the prices I've seen similar attractions charging! Edinburgh's Christmas market food and drink prices are outrageous.

I agree, outrageous charges for a hot drink. Was it Betty’s at Harlow Carr? I think Betty’s is overpriced.
