King Charles coronation

I’m reading today that Charles will be insisting that Harry & Meghan will be invited to his Coronation next year… but why? So they may still whinge & moan and take sneaky pictures for maybe another forthcoming battering of the royal family, moan that all the family will be so cold towards them, that no one is friendly towards them. Charles do your best and don’t invite them, they probably wouldn’t attend anyway..

Well he can, as long as it’s not chicken and it’s environmentally friendly - how about Coronation Cauliflower Au Gratin, which reaches out to Europe as well?

Oreo

Am already planning what to serve at our coronation party!
😄
Hope the weather will be good early in May and have it in the garden.
Coronation chicken is def on the menu.

I wonder if there will be a new recipe for this coronation. If so he can't use the word coronation because his mum did. Something to do with his name? King Charles' chicken?

They are his son and his daughter-in-law for heaven's sake.

He's a Duke and she is a Duchess.

Well if it does mean that it would be nice of Mollygo to stop calling me that.

If it doesn't mean that, then maybe Mollygo will explain.

No pressure though. Nobody needs to explain themselves on here.

Callistemon Trump in a kilt!😁

Q. Why doesn’t Donald Trump wear a kilt?

A. Because the kilt would get more attention than him.

But Vd the claims about distributing wealth often seem to come from those who see us not having a president, as a reason for the lack of wealth among the poor.
I agree that the distribution of wealth has nothing to do with having a President or the alternative. The unequal distribution is much more complex than that.

volver Thu 22-Dec-22 12:46:16

Hand up all those who can understand that the reasons for wanting a president aren't anything to do with wealth distribution.

You can't blame something for not providing an outcome it's never meant to provide in the first place.

Mollygo Thu 22-Dec-22 12:38:14

Deedaa that’s not cynical, it’s sensible. Hands up all who can give a workable example or a believable projection of how wealth would be spread more equally among the poor if we had a President.

^Your very own Trump or Biden!^
Here we go again. 🙄

Technically, could Trump run for President here (apolitical of course) as his mother was Scottish?
Or President of the Republic of Scotland?

Mollygo Thu 22-Dec-22 12:13:58

For the good of my mental health, I avoid reading about H&M so I didn’t read Mr Clarkson’s rant either in the news or on GN, so you are welcome to point out that I don’t know what I’m talking about.
However . . .
If Charles had said anything he would equally have been in the wrong on GN and the rest of the media.
Whatever the benefits of being King are they definitely include the eternal joy of being Damned if you do! and Damned if you don’t!

Deedaa Thu 22-Dec-22 12:09:19

The monarchy may well be on the way out, but who would become Head Of State? The recent voting fiascos for Tory leader suggest that the Prime Minister wouldn't be the best choice so do we go full on presidential like the US? I'm certainly too cynical to think that any change will benefit the lower orders. Money and property will just be spread around anyone who can get hold of it.

Well said Joan. I have a 91 year old friend called Joan and this voice sounds just like her!!

Glorianny Thu 22-Dec-22 11:56:45

Joan is great!

Grany Thu 22-Dec-22 11:51:14

I think it’s right what the 91 year old Joan says do? Shows real class

Grany Thu 22-Dec-22 11:38:07

This is what a 91 year old lady says about Charles keeping quiet about Jeremy Clarkson’s rant of Meghan Markle, she is not impressed. LBC

Depends where you live... wink

And who financed the poll.

If it’s the Guardian or Independent then it will be biased and prejudiced.

I once saw a pollster standing outside the very left wing council offices, taking a poll from the very left wing council employees (many of whom just clocked in and out then went off to their other under the counter jobs).

Kamiso, are you saying that if it was a poll conducted by the Mail, Express, Telegraph etc. it would not be biased and prejudiced?

Maybe instead of having an invitation list we could auction tickets in the Abbey. How much would people pay to see him crowned?

Will there be wristbands?

Ooh Yes! Different colours. We could have an all areas one which gets you into the after party at Buck House!

It has just occurred to me that the RF is one of the few British institutions that hasn't been privatised yet. So that's what we need to do. It could solve all our economic problems
