Foods you can no longer eat

I have both DD and IBS, so nowadays I can't eat anything too spicy or anything too fatty. It's a bit of a juggling act, because I do need to eat a certain amount of fibre, but too much makes things worse, so I can only eat a certain amount of vegetables and fruit. Onions are also tricky - I used to love French onion soup, but now a bowl would have me in pain for days. Same with baked potatoes - the skin is the best part for me, but I just can't eat it now, so have to content myself with just the insides.

Fat. Anything fatty, chips, sausages. Basically anything fried gives me heartburn and acid reflux.

Anything with wheat in it has to limited to I piece, slice or small portion a day, I too get acid reflux if it eat these, although I decided to chance it with a lovely bowl of spaghetti bolognaise last week whilst on holiday, big mistake.

Any fried food, any very spicy food - mild spice is ok and anything creamy. Gaviscon is a permanent fixture in my bathroom cabinet

I struggle with bread and fried food it lodges in my chest so I do try to avoid it. I only eat small quantities of foods and a massive plateful puts me off completely.

I get awful heartburn and reflux now if I eat citrus fruits, vine fruits or extreme spices like curry.
I replace mince pies, Xmas pud and Christmas cake with profiteroles, chocolate log, and trifle at this time of year so as not to miss out. 🎄🎅

My husband eats ice cream to calm his hiatus hernia ( allegedly).

I also have a hiatus hernia. Chocolate and ice-cream seem to set mine off. Mind you I still have both when the occasion arises😀

I used to love a curry but spicy food no longer agrees with me. Also I can only eat small plates of food.

peppers, chillis, bananas

Nothing really but I certainly can't consume a fully loaded plate anymore. I don't mind that it helps to keep my weight down.

Haven’t tolerated bananas, peanuts or sweet peppers for years. Even The smell now puts me off.

Onions.

I could have eaten boiled onions on a bed of fried onions served with onion sauce in my younger days but now more than a condiment amount just sit and sing loudly and embarrassingly inside me for hours.

Bread and mince pies at the moment. But I will persevere with both 😀

Went to a lovely Italian restaurant last week and had the best fettuccine boscaiola I have ever eaten.
Now, it’s been a few years since I’ve eaten this rather rich dish but all my life I’ve had a cast iron stomach and nothing upset it.
Not any more. Had reflux for hours, really badly. I do have a hiatus hernia now so should have known better.
What foods can you no longer eat? What upsets your stomach as you have aged?
