I've got to clean out the cat litter tray and plan a lesson.

One stinks more than the other and it isn't the one full of actual poo.

I had to sort out my broadband contract renewal last night. Knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep for worrying about it. Ended up not getting to sleep till 3.

Ring someone and have ‘a word’. Not looking forward to that.

Make supper, watch Mastermind, Only Connect and University Challenge .Put a hot water bottle in our bed. Then a little later go to bed and read my book club book. 3 hours later wake up.

No wonder people have trouble sleeping! Any clearing up here is a morning thing. When I'm tired (usually about 2am) I put the electric blanket on to pre-heat the bed, brush my teeth, then switch the light off - done!

I really hate getting up to a messy house though. I mean, it's still messy (DD is untidy and DGS is a dervish) but it's bearable if I clear up before bed.

I have very little intention of doing anything much before I go to bed tonight, Monday.
I did it all yesterday: big family meal, presents to be wrapped, house cleaned, and all with a stinking cold, first for ten years. I just kept focusing on getting through to nine o' clock; we had a lovely time, and I intend to recuperate today. Sitting here in scruffy dressing gown and I don't care!

I was putting together some photobooks and then got an e mail to say that if I ordered them by the 18th and they were more than €20 I would get free delivery, and get them before Christmas. So I was rushing to get done by midnight. At 11 pm I was still on the last book and then everything slowed down and I couldn't load the pictures. So I gave up. Will have to pay the postage now. I didn't need them for Christmas anyway.

🤞 M0nica. I was under the impression that within 3 months of having had covid you are still pretty much protected from catching another bout or at least won't be that ill? The worst time to pick it up again is after 6 months. Good luck.
I need to mop the kitchen floor again after doing it last night because daft DH let the dog back in through the wrong door with a line of dirty paws. Then we're heading off for a few days.

Yes, I know, its Monday morning, but at 21.48 yesterday when OP was writing. I was realising why I had felt slightly lack-lustre all day. I was definitely going down with a winter bug.

A good night's sleep later and I know I have one of those vague winter bugs. No particular symptoms, just feeling really weak and wimpsy, slight headache and no energy. I will test for COVID but I am fully vaccinated and had the wrteched virus in September.

Only thing to do now is have a hot bath and have, what is own in this household, as a 'track suit day'. I have already emailed my Tai Chi tutor to say I will be absent from today's class.

Joseanne Mon 19-Dec-22 00:58:59

Wash the kitchen floor then stuff last bits in suitcase and write a do and don't list for DD2 who will be feeding the kitten for 3 days.

Tidy round, fill the dishwasher, sort all the cracker detritus for the recycling (we’ve had friends round for a meal).

But I can hear DH clattering around in the kitchen, so I think I’ll just do a bit of GN browsing and finish off the plate of Quality Street that’s currently staring me in the face.

Write myself a note for the morning reminding me to order repeat prescription in the hope that I can collect it before Christmas.

Catterygirl Mon 19-Dec-22 00:07:53

Put on anti wrinkle creams? Never give up.

nadateturbe Sun 18-Dec-22 23:20:56

Lock doors, check gas hob turned off, switch on door alarms.
Ignore half done dinner dishes. Done 9pm.
And as Wyllow3 says, don't set the alarm.🙂

Marydoll Sun 18-Dec-22 23:13:44

Check next week's medicine box out. It doesn't look right!

Kalu Sun 18-Dec-22 23:12:45

Switch off C lights not on timers
Tidy kitchen
Add a few items to shopping list
I have just climbed into bed ready to read my book and the cat is snuggled in beside me…bliss!

Redhead56 Sun 18-Dec-22 23:11:18

Some of our Christmas lights are on timers but I have lots of others battery operated. Switch them off then check the doors my routine before going upstairs.

Yammy Sun 18-Dec-22 23:06:26

Motivate after the sleep I shouldn't have had in front of the fire. Check tomorrow's super is defrosting. Fold a pile of washing and put it away. Get tomorrow's washing sorted.
Yes, I have been nattering. I had an unexpected Facetime from DD and Gd and we had a great catch-up. Looking forward to seeing each other next week for the first time since August.
made sure their Bettys hamper had arrived and admired the tree which GD had decorated and reassured her Santa does exist.
Then bed with a novel, because I won't be able to sleep.

nanna8 Sun 18-Dec-22 23:02:00

Put our two pussy cats into the kitchen, check their food and water and dirt trays. Turn off all the lights and Christmas tree lights and make sure I have a book to read. Husband just hits the pillow and sleeps but if I don’t read, I can’t sleep.

Wyllow3 Sun 18-Dec-22 22:57:34

Not set the alarm, hooray!

swampy1961 Sun 18-Dec-22 22:46:43

Trying to get motivated to lock down the house before I go to bed. Can't leave it too late as I need to get up in the morning as we have two of the GCs tomorrow.
Need to think about a couple of activities for the older GD but the toddler GS is into emptying the toy box and playing in that at the moment!!
But they are booked in for haircuts tomorrow - that's a responsibility I could do without! lol!! But might use my bus pass and take them for a ride on the bus to town tomorrow as it's something different to do.
Must stop waffling and move!!! Nite all!!

Wyllow3 Sun 18-Dec-22 22:46:31

Check tomorrow in the diary.
Leave the mess near the sink.
Brush my teeth.
Get my HWB.

Gratefully retire.

Supernain Sun 18-Dec-22 22:36:52

I need to tidy through having had an exceptionally lazy evening. Will then brush my teeth and retire gratefully to bed!

GagaJo Sun 18-Dec-22 22:33:57

Auntieflo

Go into the kitchen after DH has cleared up after dinner, and clear up after him 😘

Oh yes! Except I clean up. Go upstairs. And have to go back down again when DD goes up to bed, to tidy up behind her.

🙄🙄🙄🙄

Have done my smelly tasks! And remembered another one I've missed.😫😫
