Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark ,but windy at the moment here in brackley this morning.
Today I have a B12 injection at my surgery and plan to walk there, also back as well .
Will do a small local shop first to see how I am.
Take Care,
Mick

Oh Grammaretto, I hope you get your tooth fixed.
Something similar happened to me during lockdown, mine sheered off horizontally at the root, weakened by years of steroids.
I was shielding, the dentist was only open a few hours a day, dentist needed my RA consultant's approval, before treating it, and it was snowing

One very expensive crown later......
Its amazing what dentists can do, nowadays. Good luck!

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester. Ten degrees warmer than yesterday already. I'll be swapping my padded coat for my warm waterproof.
No plans yet for today. We need more food as DS is well enough to empty the fridge once again.
Love to all 🦩x

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Thirsk. I’m thinking it’s wet out.

Georgesgran when we were up in Stanley yesterday it was another level of cold 🥶
It was lovely seeing our friends and exchanging gifts.

In the middle of the night the fire alarm went off so all the hotel guests were in the car park for 40 mins luckily we all had cars to sit in. The firemen came and checked it out. We were let back in at 3-15 am. There will be a lot of tired grumpy guests I would imagine today not sure how this will go with the Premier Inn goodnight sleep guarantee.

Heading over to York at lunch to see my parents so that will be nice we haven’t seen them in a while. We’ll have a look round Thirsk town first.

Love hearing about all your Christmas preparations. You all make me feel very festive.

Have a lovely day. Safe travels and special thoughts to those feeling ill or stressed🌻🎄

Grandmabatty Mon 19-Dec-22 08:30:53

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and cloudy. Thank you Susan and Mary. This morning I feel a little bit better again. I'm drinking my hot lemon and honey concoction which seems to ease some symptoms. Ash your boots look lovely. Brook safe journey tomorrow.
Today I intend to stay up all day and write the cards for the neighbours. This virus has been good for teaching me patience and helping me to lose weight! Have a good day all.

EkwaNimitee Mon 19-Dec-22 08:34:02

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark damp Carlisle where it is 13C. The temperature has risen a staggering 21 degrees in 3 or 4 days. I actually preferred the cold since the sun was out.
I'm about to pop out to Sainsbury's since neither I nor the weather was up to it on Saturday. Need to make some final purchases before the holiday.
Most of you here seem to be busily preparing yourselves.

Fingers crossed, my digestion is much improved so thanks for good wishes....I hope everyone feels good over the holidays.

I'll read your posts in detail later.

Good morning all and yes it’s feeling milder, thank goodness., but rather damp and dreary.

It’s the first rain we’ve had since the chimney cap was put on and the conservatory sealed by Dh. All seems well 🤞.

DS1 and DIL came for a cuppa yesterday afternoon. The teenage girls stayed home as they’d had a busy few days. Don’t see much of them now, but it’s good to know they’re doing well and are happy.

Dh told me he had bought me a present from M and Co but as they are going into administration, I needed to try it on as there’s only 14 days if I want to change it. I opened the parcel and he’d bought me trousers that were truly awful! Didn’t even try them on. Took them back and got a lovely cosy jumper. I do wish he wouldn’t buy me clothes 😂. Bless him for trying! ❤️.

Urms I love that Christmas card!
Look after that lovely heart Marydoll and don’t worry about DD- I had a humdinger with my Dd last week but we’re back the best of friends (for now) 😂. They like to off-load on us don’t they! 🙄.
Chrissielou thanks again for your pm. So kind!

Take care all who are travelling and get well soon those who are poorly, and keep those chins up everyone who is fretting.
🎄

Georgesgran Mon 19-Dec-22 08:45:10

Gingster so pleased your DD and you are buddies again.

Jaxjacky Mon 19-Dec-22 08:45:19

Morning all, 12, windy and wet in S Hants. Daughter and grandchildren called yesterday, finished off the decorations. I need to do a top up shop today of non Christmas food, washing and clean our en-suite.
I think that’s very ungrateful of DL gMattie, no thank you gift or anything,
Glad you’re feeling better Ekwa hope others who’ve been poorly are too.
Enjoy your day🦩🦩

Good morning everyone from a damp and windy Northampton, 12° outside today, the first time we've been above freezing for a week.

Not going to yoga this morning as my friend's car is misbehaving, and I really didn't feel like getting up extra early to get the bus to class. So instead I have made arrangements to visit my friend to drop off her present and card and have a coffee; then will get the bus into town to pick up my new glasses. I will take the chance to have a mooch around the shops and find something else to go into elder DGD's present bag; her pile seems a bit low compared to her younger sister's.

Have a good Monday everyone, and safe travels to those on the road.

Greyduster Mon 19-Dec-22 09:02:35

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet, grey South Yorkshire. It is a tad warmer though. I’m in a queue to get through to the surgery today, as I think I have an issue with my foot. It looks for all the world like chilblains but suspect I might have an infection. No idea how, if it is. I look after my feet and keep them clean. I am tenth in the queue! I posted all the Christmas cards I am sending this year; they will have to take their chance with the striking postmen et al. DS cooked some belly pork slices in my air fryer oven last night and they were delicious. We had a mini roast dinner. He is overfeeding me. Am I complaining? No!
Ash I remember our last Chinese dinner if for no other reason than it was the evening DD announced that she expecting our Grandson! We ordered champagne! DH was never very fond of Chinese food so it dropped off our radar, though when we were “courting” we used to be regulars at a lovely Chinese restaurant in Golders Green, opposite the Hippodrome. Glad Olddudders is on his way home👍🏻.
Nothing much happening at Duster Towers today. A bit of ironing maybe.
Have the best day you can folks.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 19-Dec-22 09:07:44

Cold, wet and windy here in Oxfordshire, I know it’s warmer but the house seems colder, draughtier maybe?
Busy day today, didn’t do anything yesterday apart from ironing and icing the cake, MrOops told me to sit down and take a break. I must admit it did me good, I had a good nights sleep and am now off the tablets, fingers crossed they will do the job.
Our family of 2 will swell to 9 tomorrow, so every fridge, freezer, cupboard and surface will be utilised for food prep and storage- when I’ve cooked it all! Which will be today, we have vegetarians, lactose intolerant and Gluten Free family members. Oh Joy!
Anyway sitting here won’t get it all baked, cooked or boiled so I’d better get on.
Love the card Urms I bet you can’t wait to go back to Spain.
Pleased that some Grans are feeling better, concerned that some are still poorly ( MD)
Take care everyone and have a good day.

monk08 Mon 19-Dec-22 09:09:30

Good morning all from a wet and windy Black country.
No plans as yet for the day will see what DH wants to do.
All presents wrapped just need to write the neighbours cards and deliver and a voucher to get.
Safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Will go back now and read everyone's happenings.
Enjoy your Monday everyone and may you all find some 🌞.

Stilllearning Mon 19-Dec-22 09:13:15

Morning from dark and windy Connel. DGD safely off to school but DGS is still in bed with a sore throat and bad cough.
As a mum I probably have given him Calpol and said ‘’You’ll be fine’’, as a granny I said ‘’ Oh, go back to bed son, I’ll bring you a hot drink’’.

Glad you’re feeling a bit better GrandmaBatty and wishing everyone a good day🦩🦩🦩

GrannySomerset Mon 19-Dec-22 09:23:42

Our Carol Service, moved from last night to allow the World Cup final to have all the glory, takes place tonight with a practice this afternoon. Just hope the rain has eased off by then as I don’t fancy getting wet twice. Not sure what the attendance will be like but we hope for the best.

Hope everyone’s plans are going well. I need to decide what I need to buy for the festive period but it still feels too far away. This may well catch me out and leave me dining on biscuits and white wine, the two things I have plenty of, hardly a balanced and healthy diet, but I lack enthusiasm.

luluaugust Mon 19-Dec-22 09:27:15

Good morning from a wet and windy W Kent. Slept so badly all the ironing is already done. I have a present that needs delivering but not sure if that will happen as it is a drive out into the country, the snow has all gone here but I will phone before setting out.
Best wishes to all

aggie Mon 19-Dec-22 09:34:47

Good morning from a blustery and comparatively mild Co Armagh
Last minute grocery shopping today , it will be. Quick in and out of Lidl , I am uneasy in crowds .
Our Carol service in the square was moved to the Village Hall yesterday , and it was just a bit drizzly , we turned and went home ,
I’m getting very unsocial again , so many round here have flu , Covid and cold type viruses
I put out some pears , that were past their best , for the blackbirds , but the birds didn’t get a look in , a flock of crows landed , squabbled and wrecked , not a crumb of fruit left ! Porridge for the Robin will do today !

harrigran Mon 19-Dec-22 09:37:34

Good morning from a mild NE where it is 10 degrees. When DD went home at 11pm and my garden was still covered in snow, opened the curtains this morning and it was gone.
I had more photos from GD on the ski slopes, one very happy 13 year old in Italy without her parents.
DIL is still poorly and hasn't got round to organising GDS gifts yet but she is confident the big river will still deliver in time. I have bought several gift cards from favourite shops so if all else fails they will be able to go on a shopping spree after Christmas.
Light housework today and catch up with some TV.
Have a good day all.

Greyduster Mon 19-Dec-22 09:38:56

Well, I have managed to get a telephone consult with my GP but she requested photographs. I had to ask DS to do the honours. He said if he ever got asked to do anything more weird than taking photos of his elderly mothers feet, he would run screaming for the hills!!😂

Wyllow3 Mon 19-Dec-22 09:45:08

Morning from grey..but a bit warmer, S Yorks. colours in the garden have returned from under the snow. No de-icing car! Hurray!

My CFS is hitting quite hard atm so today is just seeing a friend at lunch. Big weekly shop tomorrow, but its just for me so easy as going for fave food but not traditional.

GM I can't imagine not sending at least flowers and a card were I DL: a charitable explanation is that she is overwhelmed and finding it hard to cope, but still.....

Bests for poorlies and meet ups, today.

Blossoming Mon 19-Dec-22 09:46:28

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s much milder in this corner of Lancashire, currently 13°C.

It rained non stop yesterday, more forecast for today. The ice has all melted away so may try to get out later. At the moment I’m still in bed after a disturbed night. I’m struggling to read so will read the thread later.

Happy Monday all.

Georgesgran Mon 19-Dec-22 09:53:42

I too am hoping that gM’s DL is just getting herself organised and settled in her new pad and that she will be in touch with gM in due course. Obviously, some sort of gift would be nice, but I suspect gM would be happy to receive heartfelt and sincere words of thanks. It was a very gracious and kind thing to do and can’t have been easy for either ladies.

Kalu Mon 19-Dec-22 09:57:35

Good morning all from a much milder Glasgow, now we have wet and windy.

What a lovely card and thought as you worked on it Beechnut, I had a chuckle at the words inside, so true, thank you. You too Urms. The one with the blue and white towel reminds me so much of one of my labs, Ben.
He was such a poser. When our girls were toddlers, he was a pup and enjoyed the fuss when the girls dressed him in a baby hat, he would lie down in the dollie’s pram for a stroll around the garden.
I finished making a Nordic wreath yesterday to hang above the kitchen table. Quite pleased with my efforts

A Waitrose visit will be enough of an outing for me today. I usually go around 5pm when it is much quieter, other than that, whatever I feel like doing.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

hollysteers Mon 19-Dec-22 10:11:40

Good morning Mick and all from a dull but warmer northwest Lancashire coast.
I’m off to another Christmas lunch soon. I’ll be turning into a turkey at this rate. At least the weather won’t trouble me.
Love your boots Ashcombe and the silence from your DL sounds rude grandMattie.
Thoughts as always to those with worries.

hollysteers Mon 19-Dec-22 10:12:37

Pretty card Beechnut 👍
