Coffee iced biscuits from times past

As I was falling asleep last night the thought came to me of a biscuit I remember as a child (1960s) which was round and covered in firm coffee icing. I used to love them but can't remember what they were called or if they are still made. Any nostalgic GNs out there with a good memory?! Thank you.

I remember a biscuit from the past with coffee icing but it was an oblong shape.

The only ones I can think of were very small, round ones, about the size of a one penny piece, with a chunk of hard icing on the top. Caramel coloured icing, not sure if it was coffee flavour.

No idea of the name though.

Whilst carrying out my research into this important matter, I found this.
I’m on the cusp of Garibaldi and Pink Wafer!

That donut shaped biscuit looks as though it has coffee icing. I’m a Bourbon biscuit and I’ve never liked them

I think the biscuits you are describing Calendargirl were Iced Gems, but I could be wrong.

I love Cafe noir biscuits. Chatting is all very well but it isn't getting the iced ginger shortbread made.
Must get on.

My eldest D as a toddler used to host tea parties under the table for her teddy and panda (known as Monium-say it out loud) with Iced Gems on her toy tea-set. Not coffee flavoured though as I remember.
They were - and 45years later still are- known as Teddy- Momo biscuits.
Sadly the colour of the icing is now much paler - presumably down to E numbers.

Yay! They are Cafe Noir and you are right Juliet 27, they were oblong. Memories may vary! Ha! Ha!

Yes ParlorGames they were iced gems, I remember now.
