Good morning and a very Merry Christmas Michael and all GNs. It feels extremely cold here in South Yorkshire. I’m the only one awake yet sitting in bed listening to carols! DD and the menfolk arrived yesterday with mountains of food and presents. I am only to be allowed to be in charge of dressing and setting the table today. I would like to be a fly on the wall next door this morning - their four year old will be in absolute overdrive by now!
Hoping that Susan has better news of her grandchild today.
Good wishes to you all and a happy day!

Merry Christmas morning to you all from a damp grey West Oxfordshire. Still in bed, what luxury! Family will arrive later, already have DS1 here staying for a few nights.
Susan, thinking of you, what a worrying time for you and your family.
I wish you all a happy day filled with laughter and love.

Happy Christmas to you all.

I fully understand the worry for Susan56 and send my heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery for her DGS.

It was thought our 20 month old GS had strep A too on Thursday on admission but the swab test showed he had RSV and he was placed in an isolation room. Consultant said it wasn’t prevalent at the current time and he hadn’t seen a case for a while. He was discharged last night. When he was first seen his oxygen saturation level was only 83 which is really low. Feeling very cross with the GP seen for the second time on Wednesday who said it was normal for a child with a virus to sleep nearly all the time and eat nothing for days. The actual ward next door was rammed with small children suffering from influenza which seems truly shocking.

Christmas will go ahead. Grandmothers will be at the helm as DGS’s parents haven’t really slept for a week.

Good Morning Mick and Merry Christmas to all. Both of us in the grip of a bad cold but still a turkey to cook but no guests today which in the circa is a blessing. Have a good day everyone. xxx

A very Happy Christmas morning to everyone.

A lovely lazy one for me as we are all 12 of us off to DSs for Christmas Lunch.

I’m still in bed, waiting for the dog to wake up, minus my early morning cuppa, as I forgot to sort out the Teasmade before bed last night as came in late after the evenings jollities with friends.

Shall go out for the usual morning constitutional as soon as he wakes. Then back for breakfast of waffles, bacon and maple syrup.

My thoughts are with susan’s grandson and his longed for improvement. I hope Christmas Day sees a turning point.

Good morning and Merry Christmas all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and damp. I hope you all have a lovely day. I'm having a coffee before heading up to dd's to see the boys open their presents.

Good morning all. A lurker here who follows your gentle thread and the lives of those who post. Couldn’t pass by without wishing everyone a very merry Christmas. I’m sure that like me you all have the joys and sadnesses that the day brings, and also the stress, guilt, laughter, arguments, fun, memories… and everything else in between! My blended family is all to me, so I do cherish us being together - although the Christmas colds and infections may cut our numbers! Also, couldn’t pass by without sending thoughts to Susan, who must be in the worst place. Hope today brings good news.
Merry Christmas x

Merry Christmas to you all.
Hope your day is peaceful and happy.

Merry Christmas from a dark, damp but mild Colchester. DH is snoring beside me as he had one too many beers yesterday. I was woken by a text from DD2 asking if we had batteries.
We are going there later once DH and DS surface.
Love and hugs to all 🦩 x

Christmas greetings from S Yorks

Susan your dear GS in my thoughts and prayers. I'll keep popping in to see if there is news..

There's going to be a lovely little Quaker meeting in someone's house it being a Sunday. I shall be very surprised if mince pies do not feature afterwards.

I'll have a WhatsApp later with family (seeing them at New year) and an unconventional meal - a favourite, undyed smoked haddock but not forgetting the roast parsnips....

have a lovely time with family gransnetters who have that in your day: MIck" hope your crown crisps up nicely and *Ailidh its an enjoyable meal.

Grandmadinosaur Sun 25-Dec-22 07:27:43

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. Still dark here.

Going over to see the family this morning then home for lunch just us two.

Wishing you all a happy Christmas and hope you have a lovely day.

Thinking very much of Susan I do hope our prayers will be answered 💐

Ashcombe Sun 25-Dec-22 07:23:21

Good morning, all, from a soggy Torbay!

I don't think we will venture far today unless the weather improves. Thoughts are with those with worries about loved ones, especially Susan56 with her DGS who is so ill.

Safe travels and a lovely day is wished for you all.
🥰 🎄🎅🏼⛄️❄️

cornergran Sun 25-Dec-22 07:21:26

Merry Christmas to you all.

Our corner of Somerset looks dry. No cooking here as our son is hosting. I’m allowed to contribute pudding. The traditional one is already with him, a mountain of meringue is packed and waiting, I just need to remember to gather fruit and other items from the fridge.

Wishing you all the best day it can be.

harrigran Sun 25-Dec-22 07:20:13

Good morning from a damp NE where it is 7 degrees.
Did not sleep very well as I have considerable pain in my left shoulder.
DD and SIL will arrive first today to help me prepare food then DS and family will arrive, they have a long drive to get here.
I had hoped Christmas cards would arrive but there was no post. Apart from hand delivered cards I have only received four cards and two of them were all crumpled.
Thoughts are with Susan.

Sparklefizz Sun 25-Dec-22 07:15:31

Merry Christmas Mick and Everyone from South Gloucestershire.

We are all meeting at my son's in Wiltshire for lunch.

Hope everyone's day goes well

ginny Sun 25-Dec-22 07:15:18

Merry ChristmasMick and everyone else.
Just had FaceTime with two little DGS who wanted to check Santa had remembered to leave their gifts here. They have had their stockings and will be here soon. They only live 5 minutes drive away.
Eldest DGS still asleep upstairs as is DD2. Rest of family arriving mid morning.
I can smell the Turkey cooking so I’ll have a cuppa while it is quiet and then on with the day.
Hope you all enjoy the day however you spend it. Love and hugs to all. X
