Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I think I can hear wind and rain! OH, younger son and I had hoped we could drive over to a nearby Wildlife centre but think it might be too damp and miserable. If it’s too wet and horrible the animals go inside. Anyway, I have a pile of ironing to do. Also, I ordered a new cast iron casserole from John Lewis and I think I might be click and collecting it from Waitrose today. It would also be good if my monthly prescription is ready from the Health Centre. I will run out of one of my tablets soon. Younger son made us all rum punch yesterday. It was delicious and lethal and rendered me almost comatose for most of the afternoon! There were loads of limes left so he may make an innocuous brew of lime squash today. He is off back to London tomorrow so tonight I will probably make a pheasant and apple casserole…in the new casserole. There is Christmas pudding left so we might have that too. Have a good and peaceful day everyone and 🌹to those suffering angst.

Morning from a part cloudy S Yorks, too early to see if we will get any sun.

Really not been too well CFS wise, but made it to Sainsbury's yesterday and got the Christmas tree out. Its a live one this is year 3 and still looking fresh and happy and I want to keep it that way.

My cleaner comes this morning so I shall heave ho to the gym, however much I do or not, doesn't matter as its nice and sociable.

Well I have the pleasure of Sky switching on services they have not put the box in for due to the non arrival of the box and the total lack of communication between different bits of Sky so hope for the best - engineer next week, just hope services don't go down.

Susan after all the worry I hope today is enjoyable! and kittylester you persevere slowly with your car, its very empowering if you can manage it.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dark and cold at about 2º, the snow has more or less melted but I think there’s probably more on the way.
I had a good day yesterday, a catch up with my friend and then I got my hair done in the afternoon. Today DD2 and family are all coming round for the day, the DGC will probably be bringing lots of games to keep us all busy. I’m making various sandwiches and a salad for lunch and a big lasagne for dinner so hopefully that’ll feed us all ok.
Sorry to hear about so many poorly grans with the cough and other things, hoping things improve a bit soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 29-Dec-22 08:01:32

Good morning from a chilly but dry so far-rain on the way though, MrOops is taking the dog for a long walk with MissOops in a minute, he’s sure that he feels unwell because of lack of exercise, nothing to do with being I’ll and still having the cough. It’s just started to rain, maybe he will be sensible and stay indoors, he can watch me do the ironing!
Apart from that another lazy day.
Mick listen to what the other Grans are saying, I know you are under the care of the JR, but your GP might be able to do something about your medication if it’s making you topple over when you go out. Nagging over!
Have a good day everyone and hugs for those who aren’t feeling so chipper today.

Good morning🌤Having breakfast out, & then going to pick up some vitamins that had been ordered last week. I'm also planning on a fast garden centre 🪴visit - to look, but not buy, lol!
Hope everyone has the best day possible!

Greyduster Thu 29-Dec-22 07:58:02

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it promises to be a dry day. But it feels very cold at the moment. The heating is on but I’m very reluctant to get out of bed to go and make my coffee! I slept badly last night. I have a hospital appointment this afternoon. I hope to get a short crutch walk in this morning as it has been too wet to get out for a few days. Nothing else cooking at the moment.
Listen to folks on here Mick - let your GP know about your blips!
Glad you’re back in your car Kitty. I hope to be back in mine before too much longer.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from the Black country, another who hasn't looked out yet but know the rain has stopped no pitter patter on utility roof.
Ironing to catch up with, then over to our friends in Redditch.
Enjoy your day whatever your plans and may you all find some 🌞.

Marydoll Thu 29-Dec-22 07:54:20

Good morning all from a rainy Glasgow, where it's 6 °C.

Another day, resting for me.
I can empathise Baubles, I have had the cough for weeks, along with a respiratory infection. the only thing helping is a menthol crystal inhalation, ( I am having one at the moment) my inhalers are having little or no effect.

I need to try and do a bit of light housework today. Mr MD has been doing his sterling best, but my very generous presents from Christmas are still piled up in the spare room, having had no energy nor inclination, to put them away.
Then again, I may just stay in bed and be looked after by dh!

I wish you all an enjoyable day and a restful day for all in the sick bay..

Good morning from a dry forecast sunny South Downs - currently 9c, although still dark.

Plan to walk along the Goring seafront west of Worthing later after the Sainsbury delivery. Will stop and sit in the sun for a cup of tea if the wind is in the right direction.

Will put some washing on this morning and prepare Turkey tikka masala for supper.

Mike sorry to hear of your “turns” I’m new here so wouldn’t presume to give advise to you, but hope you get them sorted out.

Kitty - ever onwards! One day you will wake up and realise that your candle is at last alight. Just takes for ever.

Hope those with coughs and colds etc recover soon.

Enjoy the day everyone.

Pittcity Thu 29-Dec-22 07:37:59

Good morning from a dark but dry Colchester. 10° feels like 5 is today's max.
I need to change the beds and get the ironing up to date today. A trip to Lidl too.
I bought myself a handbag in the sales yesterday but was otherwise unimpressed with the offerings. I am waiting for the summer stuff to arrive as I need more....I expect I won't have long to wait as there are already creme eggs in the shops!
Love to all 🦩 x

SunshineSally Thu 29-Dec-22 07:37:20

Good morning from a quiet south Hants. Haven’t looked out yet but can’t hear the wind and rain so hopefully today will be a good day for the pooch.
Today is an admin and housework catch-up me thinks. Am behind with the washing. Plus a good walk for DDog and a sort out of bedrooms. DH’s car has died … he’s fairly certain it needs a new battery so he’ll crack on with sorting that.
Have the best day you can. Thoughts to those who are unwell or feeling low 🦩🦩🦩
Hugs and 💐 for you all x

Good morning from Essex by the sea. I'm not sure what the weather is doing.
We arrived home yesterday from our four days away. The hotel and staff were lovely, the food not so much.
We had a lovely day with DD2 and family on Tuesday and spent a few hours in Bluewater on our way back yesterday.
DH has a nasty cough and is sleeping sitting up, he hates being ill and can get very grumpy.
A pile of ironing awaits later and we need to do some shopping.
Have a lovely day everyone xx

Good morning from a fair s somerset

I understand that Mick, about building your strength up and it is especially difficult over winter when we are enforced to do more sitting than is good for us. I have small hand weights and hand strengtheners close by, to enable some muscle building in my arms and hands. Stairs too for my legs. I need and want to keep some of my stamina, I have hills to cycle up in spring

The opposite now, knitting, lots of knitting, sitting and knitting

I hope today is a gentle day for you all

grandMattie Thu 29-Dec-22 07:30:25

Good morning from E Kent.
I have overslept, have a million things to do today. I shall just wish you a happy day. Carpe diem.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 29-Dec-22 07:23:37

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s still dark and 7 degrees here too. Seems like I have succumbed to the cough DH has as I’ve been awake with it for a while. So I’ve come downstairs and enjoying a soothing hot blackcurrant.

It’s getting a bit like Groundhog Day here. We’ve been very lazy just reading, watching TV and eating. In between that I treated us to lunch out yesterday as I’m getting fed up of cooking meals now. We had fish and chips that were delicious and a welcome change from turkey.

Nothing on our agenda today apart from a late doctors appointment for me this afternoon. I might see if I can find any bargains in TK Maxx and go by train.

Have a good day everyone.

cornergran Thu 29-Dec-22 07:18:08

Morning Mick, morning All. The rain is beating against the window, no need to look out to know our corner of Somerset is wet and windy. 7 degrees here too.

A gentle, pottering day yesterday, our elder son called for a cuppa late afternoon, good to be able to chat. Not sure about today. Had planned to return a sweater made for someone a very different shape to me but do I feel like going out in the monsoon? Not sure yet.

Mick please speak with your surgery about your health dips when you can, too many of late. Sounds a good day ahead urms, think you got the best deal. Keep on driving kitty, your stamina will come back.

Safe travels all who are out and about. I hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Ashcombe Thu 29-Dec-22 07:14:51

Good morning from a windy, showery Torbay.

I hope you are able to have some advice from your GP, Mick, as kittylester and Kalu recommend. It’s good that you are persevering with the driving, kittylester.

Yesterday, I spent a “happy” couple of hours completing and filing my tax return for 2021/2022. This was a task I’d put to the back of my mind due to being preoccupied with my hospital stay and recovery. Another box ticked!

Brittany Ferries helpfully cancelled, without charge, the surplus cabin I’d inadvertently booked for our next trip to France. Yesterday, a lovely member of staff rang to reassure me that there’s an infirmary onboard, should I need it, and to advise that, should we experience Winter storms, we should remain in our cabins.

It’s good that your DGS is home, Susan56, but I can understand your DD2’s reluctance to have him out and mixing with too many folk. A difficult decision.

Enjoy whatever you're doing and I hope grandMattie arrived home safely. 🦩🥰⛄️🎅🏼🦩

Urmstongran Thu 29-Dec-22 07:09:46

No Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dark and wet. We had torrential rain during the night. Alexa says it’s 7°C (snap! kitty). Himself is setting off in an hour to drive the Boy Wonder over to Stockport for a football tournament that will last all morning. Brr! Good luck grandad and wear all the clothes in your wardrobe, plus scarf and gloves.

I’m having a totally different morning as I’ll be in the warmth - I’m meeting L’il Miss and her mum in the Loungers Bar downstairs for breakfast. They do lovely coffee too.

Afterwards I’ve suggested mum drives herself home for a couple of child-free hours (blissful she says), L’il Miss can come up with me to play then grandad will swing by and I’ll take her down to meet him at the front and pop her into his car so she can be taken back home with her brother.

Enjoy Thursday all who can. x

Susan56 Thu 29-Dec-22 07:05:33

Good morning from Shropshire.

We are going over to Cheshire today to meet up with our daughters, nieces and nephews.Mum has decided not to come with us.DD2 hasn’t decided whether they will come or not as they are naturally anxious about taking B out at the moment. There will still be 14 of us.We had chosen a restaurant near to where mum lives so we’ll pop in to see her after the meal.

Have the best day you can everyone.

harrigran Thu 29-Dec-22 06:58:53

Good morning from a a very windy and rainy NE.
Got my shopping done yesterday morning and then spent the afternoon at my sister's with the rest of the family. My cousin and his wife were there too so I caught up with their family news.
DD and SIL came home with me and we had a late dinner and then I took myself off to bed with the new wheat bag, warmed in the microwave plus a hot water bottle. I took some painkillers and used gel on my shoulder and did manage to get some sleep.
I have a day to myself and should be washing but I will wait another hour or two to see how I feel.
Have a good day everyone.

baubles Thu 29-Dec-22 06:50:31

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire. Not sure what the weather is doing as I haven’t looked out.

I spent yesterday dozing on the sofa, this cough is horrid and isn’t going away.

Thursday again so we’re off to Edinburgh.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Kalu Thu 29-Dec-22 06:48:04

Good morning all from Glasgow. Still dark and it sounds like another rainy day is ahead listening to rain bouncing off the windows.

DH has recovered from whatever caused the stomach upset so back on track.
Take it easy today Mick and I second informing your GP of any such episodes.
I watched Emily in Paris yesterday, the visits around Paris and Provençal lavender fields made watching bearable of a far fetched storyline.

A quick visit to local shops will be my excitement for today. Deep joy!

Hoping a good day is ahead for all, especially those with illness and worrying times.

kittylester Thu 29-Dec-22 06:03:22

Good morning all from North Leicestershire.

I have no idea about the weather as the blinds and curtains are still closed. Alexa tells me that the temperature us 7°.

Mick, I hope you tell your gp about all your episodes of being unwell.

Yesterday I drove the car again. And, again, I needed to sit down to recover. I may repeat the exercise again today. Our other excitement is a Sainsbury's delivery.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Michael12 Thu 29-Dec-22 05:54:05
