Good Morning from Severnside where I am wishing you all a Happy New Year.

No plans for celebrating either tonight or tomorrow with anyone.

I’m going to have a craft day making some cards. This year brings a few big birthdays, a wedding and a golden wedding anniversary so I’ve got to get my thinking cap on. Lots of stash to use.

Enjoy the last day of the year everyone 🎉🎉🦩🎉🎉🥂

Good morning all from a chilly and dark North Leicestershire. I think there is rain on the cards.

I had my covid booster yesterday and cooked dinner. There is no stopping me now. grin

Having said that, we won't make midnight!! But we haven't for years!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2023.

Good morning, s somerset and all around is raining and we are expecting a torrent of rain throughout the whole day

My car was loaded for a 2hour journey along motorways into wales and now I am breathing a sigh of relief that we were all sensible enough to are-arrange this family gathering for another date. I dislike those busy motorways at the best of times, this yellow warning of black clouds and two dots was not to be ignored

My wish is that 2023 is a better year for all of us

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Madeira.
I think the daytime temp is going to be about 22 today.

We arrived at the hotel at 8.30 pm after a smooth seamless journey. Just a short delay. The hotel is as lovely as ever and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Every tree has different coloured lights all the way down into Funchal.
Tonight’s it’s a gala dinner and then we want to get down into the city and enjoy the fireworks from the bay front with the crowds. I’m sure it will be a great atmosphere.

Enjoy your day whatever you are planning but thoughts as well to those who have stress and illness weighing them down🌻🎉

Morning Mick, morning All from a windy, very soggy corner of Somerset.

Third attempt with our meters failed yesterday, fourth attempt is booked. It seems we live in an odd property. Life eh? Began to put bits of Christmas decorations away while also generally sorting out. A box and bag for charity shops already. Will carry on today after a quick trip out for a couple of grocery items.

A gentle NYE ahead for us. We’ll reminisce about the years we spent the evening with good friends, remember the years we were tired taxi drivers for our sons and think forward to plans for the year ahead.

Kind thoughts go to all especially those with sadness in their lives.

Good morning from a wet and windy Torbay….. again!

There’s been a high tide here so I’ve just watched a video posted on Facebook of the sea dousing cars on one of the beach roads.

Yesterday we ventured to Asda for a few items not available in Lidl and it was manic! The situation wasn’t helped by those who aren’t used to crowded supermarkets who were blocking aisles and seemed oblivious to other shoppers.

Later we visited a large out of town Boots as we received a voucher for Christmas. As usual, we couldn’t find the specific things we wanted but staff were helpful. I had to smile at the reaction of one assistant to my request for the location of support tights. She assumed I meant flight socks but, after consulting colleagues, directed me to the tights section, situated next to toothpaste. Where else?!

I understand your wish, Mick whilst fearing for the future of the NHS with the way things are. Let’s hope 2023 is a healthier one for us all.

No plans for tonight apart from opening a bottle of fizz (Saumur, brought over from France) to have with dinner.

Have a good day whatever you do. 🦩🎅🏼⛄️🎄🦩

Morning from S Yorks.

Looking out it looks like a rainy day ahead.

Hope the same for you too Mick

I'll go to the gym if not too tired, and tonight find a decent film - never particularly celebrated NYE. Except for some parties in my youf. A couple of quiet resolutions and a desire for an early spring!

Good morning, no change in the wet weather here, everything is absolutely sodden.
I managed to order a load of logs for the wood burner yesterday, I have an order for mid February but we’ll run out this week., so I’m happy with that. Yesterday I did very little except housework, took down the tree etc so it looks a little bit bare.
Today it’s ironing, cook a gammon and start another pair of socks.
I’ve woken up with a headache so I definitely need a walk to get some fresh air, rain or no rain!
We don’t sit up for New Year, we haven’t done anything for years, probably 30 or more!
Enjoy the celebrations those of you who do 🥂

Good morning from a windy E Kent.
I had a lovely couple of hours lunching with DGS and his mum. He is becoming a lovely young man, coming out of his shell and more chatty. I am very fond of his mum. The rest of the day was quiet, just soup for dinner.
The weather has been horrible, blowing a gale as the wind funnel ps up the Channel, and rain. I was soaked waiting for the train.
Today, some friends are coming to change the seal on my shower. They are the nicest couple.
Not doing anything or seeing anyone this evening. I’ve never been into NYE. I think the last time we celebrated was in 1976 before we got married!
Hope you have a good day, enjoy your evening and celebrate in style. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet here in brackley this morning .
Today a small local shop later , but this year has been very hard for me as to the amount of appointments at various hospitals in the area mainly Oxford.
I only hope 2023 sees fewer visits .
Take Care,
Mick
