I've put everything except the tree away. That'll probably get dismantled on Thursday when I've got some time.

All done today and hoovered plants back where they belong I like it like that

We won’t be having any visitors but I like the decorations up for a while until Twelfth Night. Himself plans to put them all away on 5th Jan.
I will watch from the sofa and tell him what a good job he’s doing. (We only live in a small apartment so I’m not as meanie as that sounds!).

All put away. House clean and beds all changed. Lovely. All clean and sweet smelling.

I put all ours away today. A quick vacuum to get rid of the fake snow. Tomorrow a thorough dust and vacuum of the lounge and put back everything that has been moved.
I've just lit two candles, smells nice.

Gone last night. I felt a bit sorry for the tree this year. It was fresh and green. Last year, it was as dead as a doornail.

Packed ours away this morning and most of the afternoon, then cleaned the sitting room and dining room.

I managed to condense the contents of 5 crates into 4 (yaay) then after putting them into the loft found a large Christmas cake tin that would have been useful to pack stuff in.

It’s now under the spare bed, when I next go into the loft it can go away then.

It all ‘went’ on Saturday evening as I cleared away after my DDs and DGSs left. I’d bought new stuff which I intend to store in the bottom of a wardrobe, as I didn’t trust myself with the loft ladder!
Looking forward to buying some potted hyacinths and spring flowers tomorrow.

Mine is coming down tomorrow. The tree still looks so fresh and has barely dropped a needle so it feels wrong to discard it, but I want my "uncluttered" room back.

VioletSky, we do that too. I didn't notice the new Scandinavian style decoration a few years ago for over a week, it's been in place ever since grin It doesn't shout 'Christmas', just Scandi style reindeer.

2 of my grandchildren are staying with me tonight so we’re going to have another evening cosying up to enjoy the tree and decorations. I might make a start packing it all away once they go home tomorrow.

Our cards are put up as they arrive, however the Christmas tree and decorations go up on 23rd Dec just after the 4th Sunday in Advent. The baby Jesus is put in the crib late on Christmas Eve. We keep everything up until 12th night which coincides with the arrival of the three wise men at Epiphany on 6th Jan.

Jaxjacky Mon 02-Jan-23 16:29:49

Ours went yesterday, I waved as the tree went off to be recycled 👋
Did it early this year as no visitors planned.

VioletSky Mon 02-Jan-23 16:25:51

Ours are also down

We have a tradition in our house that if anything gets forgotten it has to stay out all year. I haven't found anything yet

Keeleklogger Mon 02-Jan-23 16:22:50

Yeah took ours down today

Dottynan Mon 02-Jan-23 16:19:14

Ours went away today. Really hard work packing everything up and hauling it into the loft. Message to self don't get so much out next Christmas but I bet we do

Grandmabatty Mon 02-Jan-23 16:18:36

Me too. I love the minimal look!

Sallywally1 Mon 02-Jan-23 16:16:22

Anyone else? I start to get twitchy if stuff hangs around for too long, but other people like the decorations up for as long as possible. It looks a bit bare though!
