Good morning all from a wet and windy Glasgow, where it's 10°C.

It's good to hear that your dentist is on the ball, Ash, but of course, annoying for you. A similar thing happened to me with a dental emergency during Lockdown, but it was due to being immunocompromised. It involved numerous phone calls between the dentist and my RA consultant, before I received any treatment. A more positive experience of the NHS.

I have had a disturbed night, needing my heart spray.
I don't know if I did too much yesterday, taking down the two trees and all the paraphernalia. A lesson learned.

Abitbarmy, my Dollie loves Hey Duggie too, and we also watch TV in bed, if she wakes up early. Its such a lovely feeling, having her snuggled beside me.
At the Bells, she took all her toy dogs into bed, because they were frightened of the fireworks. 🤣

Good morning all from Harrogate- it’s 10 degrees here
Yesterday it was so wet i mooched around the house in the morning but went to the church group where we had a good natter and tea and
Biscuits. I’ve taken the cards down and left them in the church for the guides to remake into new ones to sell.
Today I hope to go to and out of town shopping area and see if there are any sales left!

DD and DSiL here overnight so we can set off early for Hampshire for the funeral of my oldest friend, DD’s much loved godmother. Hoping for a dry day after yesterday’s continuous downpour. Will catch up tomorrow.

Off to see the Ophthalmologist this morning about my Dry Eye condition which for me is horrible dripping eyes when outside. I’m keeping my fingers crossed he can unblock them for me.

Good morning from a dark, damp but mild Colchester. The boiler isn't whirring so heating is obviously not needed. The rain is forecast to disappear later.
Usual Wednesday coffee meetup in the city centre this morning.
We had planned to visit SisIL to discuss a visit to cousins in the USA but may postpone if DH is still full of cold.
I slept in DS room last night and realise that he needs a new duvet cover, his curtains need rehanging and his radiator needs attention. Why didn't he say or do anything about this? Mum to the rescue. I can deal with the first 2 today.

I was going to throw in my five pence worth Oops on your ‘moving not moving’ but it’s all been said. I will just say though that my brother used to live out in the sticks and now he’s older he doesn’t.

I’ve a few jobs to do today then I’ve a few things I want to do in the coming days/weeks so I ought to make a list.

Good morning everyone from a dark North Yorkshire. I’m lying in bed with DGd who is watching Hey Duggie. When she stays the night these days I find it easier to spend the night with her in her bed and leave DH to have a good night’s sleep. Not too early wake up this morning and the catarrh is at last lessening. After having the lurgy for 4+weeks I’m so looking forward to feeling normal again. Will have a fun packed day then a quiet evening after DGd goes home to the twins who are in their third month and thriving. Hope everyone has the best day they can and all those with ailments improve soon.

Today I’m putting away the remainder of the Christmas decorations. I’m also going to declutter items like Christmas labels, cards half rolls of unused paper etc that’s just taking up space.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Madeira and it’s really windy this morning.

We had a lovely day showing our family around Funchal and then back down again to see the impressive Christmas lights but got a taxi back. Prices really have gone up here now it’s comparable with the UK.

We are visiting the Nuns Valley today which is deep in the island but the views are stunning and you can indulge in everything chestnut based. It’s lovely.
Today my sister, brother in law and nephew arrive too.

Morning all from a dark S Hampshire, apparently it’s 12, odd for January.
Yesterday was a new for old as Christmas presents replaced worn out items that were then binned, house cleaned through and two cupboards cleaned out. It did rain all day, so jobs well done.
I have a hankering for the sea today, check the weather first and I have no idea how much fuel my car has!

Good morning. Still wet am windy but DH is. off to golf. If the course is too soggy they will have a coffee and chat and come home.
DGS 2 is back to school today so there will be a knock on the door to say hello and then his Mum and brother will call for a cuppa when they have dropped him off.
Later I will pop next door neighbour at her dentist appointment and pick her up again.
This afternoon I have our WI meeting, usually in the evening but in January we just meet for New Year tea, cake and chat.
Wishing all who are poorly a speedy recovery. Son in Law is beginning to feel a little better from his pneumonia.

I really enjoyed choir and received lots of hugs and a round of applause but I realised that I need to practice the singing part of being there.

It’s blowing a gale here in my corner of north west Wiltshire - I can hear the wid from my bed.
Yesterday I had a lovely time at crafts, it was so good to get together with friends again. The room we use was really chilly despite the radiators being on, I came home and lit the wood burner, I was so cold.
Today I’m meeting a very old friend for coffee, we’ve known each other for probably 50 years. We rarely meet up but when we do we carry on from where we left off 😊
Sadly her DH is terminally ill, so sad.
Tomorrow DD is coming with her dog, it will be chaotic!

Good morning from Essex by the sea, I'm not sure what the weather is doing yet.
Today my youngest granddaughter is 5. I won't see her but will be thinking of her and hopefully there will be pictures later.
A visit to the Post Office this morning, some ironing and two bathrooms to clean. Yesterday I gave the lounge and office a good going over.

Urms yes I was dreading it, but as I only realised her intentions the previous evening I didn’t have to worry for too long. Of course now that she knows our position it has thrown her plans in the air.
I understand her reasoning, that in the future she doesn’t want us to go into care homes and wants to be close to help us, but I feel this conversation is 20 years too early!
At least I hope it is!
If we could all afford to do it in Dorset, I’d be able to at least think about it.

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is supposed to be dry today. Hope so, many country roads flooded yesterday.

Yesterdays chores completed the plan for today is to be out for breakfast and then, if the forecast is right, have a blow the cobwebs away walk.

Not the easiest conversation to have oops. Sometimes we do know best. Our grandchildren are home until tomorrow urms, it feels a long break.

No dog yesterday as I thought yesterday was Wednesday so another early morning for me today when it is Actually Wednesday.
The conversation with MzOops yesterday was difficult and she was upset that we misunderstood, I understand her reasons for wanting us all to live on a plot in the middle of nowhere, but dug my heels in. She will now spend the next few years trying to change our minds. As (as usual) we are wrong and she is right. Sigh……….
Anyway……..
I must get out to the potting shed today to bin all of the tender plants that have died due to the Arctic weather temperatures that happened whilst we were on holiday before Christmas.

Then I need sort out the shelves in the garage to clear space for crates of crockery from the house, ready for me to get my act together and sell it all, in the Spring. I thought we would use it all more often, but it’s all so fragile that it’s mostly display only, so it will need to go. But not today!

So that’s my day, I hope it’s not raining.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s still dark but dry and seems mild enough. It’s very quiet with no trains running.

The grandchildren are back at school today. They’ll be getting up about now as they have to leave the house in an hour as mum drops them off at their childminder on her way into work. No wonder she has them in bed early on school nights!

We have no calls upon our time today which is nice. Why then did my eyes ping open at 6am yet yesterday needed an alarm to getting going? The mysterious of life.

Actually Himself has decided to take down our few Christmas decorations today and remove the two sets of coloured lights from the verandah. He has stuff to do tomorrow so today, while we have no plans, suits him better. Fair enough. I shall ring my stepfather while that’s being done - I wouldn’t want to get in his way you see. Thoughtful as ever.

Good morning from a breezy Torbay after a windy night.

Thank you for the complimentary comments about my photographs in yesterday's GM thread. We do have the odd day in Winter that explains the “English Riviera” title for Torbay. Yesterday, we were back to wind and rain!

Also yesterday, I got as far as the treatment room for my appointment with the dental hygienist only to be informed that, according to the latest guidelines, she couldn’t treat me until early November due to my mitral valve surgery! A record of my operation was made there in December when I had emergency treatment for a broken tooth. It’s a pity that I wasn’t told this in hospital or by the cardiac staff with whom I’ve had contact recently. Sigh!

Happy hump day, especially to those for whom it’s the start of a new term.

Disturbed night as it is very windy and it is 10 degrees.
It will take me longer to get ready today with my painful shoulder but it will be nice to have lunch out and not have to cook today.
Took down the decorations from the hall yesterday but will leave the tree until tomorrow when SIL can help me.

Good morning from a drizzly E Kent. The sun doesn’t rise before nearly 8am, so it’s still dark. So much for the solstice!
As I had no tai chi yesterday, I went to visit my old friend in the nursing home. Poor old thing, she is so frail and tires very easily. I have to do all the talking, and only stay for 30 minutes now…
I did my Spanish homework and also looked up a recipe for the “roscon de los Reyes”, the wise men’s crown - a crown shaped ring of fancy sweet dough with lots of crystallised fruit on top. It is traditional fare at Epiphany. I shall make it today to take to class tomorrow.
I’ve got a knit and natter at Age Concern, where everyone (but me) is making squares for blankets, scarves, mittens, etc., to give to needy people known by the management. It is also for chat and keeping warm, without seeming patronising.
