Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday went to Bicester , and my usual bakery cafe was closed , so I have decided to give Bicester a miss until next week , as we seem to be in holiday type period with nothing in full swing.
Take Care,
Mick

Happy Birthday Kitty have a lovely day 🎉

Am keeping out of DD and DSiL’s way as they prepare to set off for Liverpool after a long but satisfactory day yesterday. My old friend’s humanist funeral was beautiful and pleased DD and the close relatives involved in making it happen, and the lunch which followed was surprisingly enjoyable. Now I have to look forward rather than back as it is almost a year to the day since DH’s death and I have spent too much time in the past.

Looks dry - hurrah! - so may do a little outside tidying since yesterday’s wind has created plenty to sweep up.

Good morning everyone from a still dark Northampton, looking dry outside. Am awaiting a Sainsbury's delivery later this morning, so need to get myself organised by then.

Didn't do a lot yesterday apart from a walk to the local shops to spend a Christmas voucher (due to expire on Saturday). I got a decent bottle of wine and a rather nice Beef Stroganoff from the 'Cook' range, which the local supermarket has just started stocking. Shall probably have it at the weekend.

Thinking of a bus trip to the shops this afternoon instead of tomorrow; coffee and a bun in the M&S Cafe beckon, and Sainsbury's have a sale of bedding which I am keen to look at. Smoked haddock and new potatoes for dinner tonight, nice and easy.

That Spanish bake looks delicious grandMattie!

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Madeira and there is a colourful sunrise through the palm trees this morning.
We had a lovely trip out to the Nuns Valley yesterday. The taxi driver was very informative and he stopped at a couple of viewpoints on the way. The views are spectacular., We went down then into the valley to the village and enjoyed hot peeled salted chestnuts and chestnut liqueur which tastes very nutty and sweet.

Today we are all going up on the cable car to Monte gardens and a few back down in the toboggan baskets. My sister breaks too easily so her husband has said no to that so I will accompany her back down on the cable car. It’s wonderful having my sister here we are very close. She lives in Canterbury so we don’t see each other that often. We were regaling our other guests of funny parts of our childhood. My sister is so funny and I’m constantly crying with laughing with her.

Susan it took a full week over Christmas for my son to be negative from Covid. I was surprised at how poorly he was and a week parted from his wife so she didn’t get it. Trouble is everyone they know has it so I think it’s going to be hard to avoid.

Have a lovely day everyone and thoughts to those struggling with stress illness and worries. 🌻🌻 I have tried to put on photos but they just won’t send for some reason. X

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a frosty start but forecast to be as high as 9º today but with rain.
A very Happy Birthday kitty enjoy your special day and hope the volunteering goes well 💐🥂🎂
Yesterday was the mildest temperatures we’ve had for ages and we enjoyed taking the DGC out for the day
Today I’m planning to finish putting away all the Christmas decorations and cleaning as I go along. I’ll put some music on and it’ll be a bit of a workout too - save me going to the gym
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Morning everyone. Up early again this morning. Workmen hopefully will start remedial work in my flat on the sprinkler system. Should have started yesterday but the plumbers are off ill. Have done 24 flats so far no problems until of course they get to mine! Not quite light here in Sherwood yet seems mild again wind as dropped. Have a good day if you can.

Good morning all from a mild North Leicestershire.

Exciting day today. It is my birthday and my first foray into volunteering since I was ill. I am helping at a dementia cafe and then trying a new place for lunch if I am still capable.

Hoping everyone has a good day.

A very good morning Mick and all who follow. It's still pitch dark on the Angus coast and the full moon is still shining brightly. However I've just opened the east facing curtains and there's a lovely glow of sunrise there. I'm up very early - for me - as it's tai chi this morning and I've still to make out the class sheet (for monthly accounting) and iron my trousers. I shall be glad to get back into routine again after the lovely holiday. After class I shall pop into the shops for some basics and then back home for my afternoon TV programmes - I missed them so much when the channels were saturated with football before Christmas. They are my 'old age indulgence'!
Have a good day everyone xx

Good morning from a dark & dry Sefton. It feels very mild.
Yesterday was a complete write off as I slept/dozed through most of it due to a migraine & the side effects of my migraine medication. Feel much better this morning but slightly 'wrung out'. Will give my Zumba class a go though. I can stand at the back & do it in 'slo- mo'! No plans for the rest of the day.
Take care all.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is currently 7 °C.

Yet another disturbed night, I have an RA flare up at the moment on top of everything else. My loathsome splints will need resurrected and they don't colour match, with my outfit. 😉I had forgotten how excrutiating the pain can be.
Two painkillers and a cuppa, brought by DH will set me right.

GM, thanks for the recipe, it looks delicious. I have printed it out and once I feel up to it, I will have a go.

Ash, I was fortunate to have a number of actual face to face appointments with a psychologist, as part of my cardiac rehabilitation, then Lockdown hit and the psychologists were re-deployed to, support NHS staff during the pandemic.
Initially, I was extremely reluctant to go, very angry and anxious, that my RA had damaged my heart and no intervention would help.
However, after agreeing, I found it helped me enormously to come to terms with the cards, I have been been dealt.
It did open a can of worms, regarding my mother, which had been festering for years, but was very cathartic.
I can understand the reluctance of people not wishing to talk, I couldn't have shared my anxiety in a group.

Yesterday, I eventually got going and popped to Sainsbury's for a few essentials.
An assistant approached me, two Christmas boxes of family biscuits in hand and asked if I was interested in them at 50p instead of £5! You bet I was.
A lady hovering beside me, asked if there were any more. The assistant directed her to the correct aisle, where she promptly cleared the shelves of all the reduced biscuits!! She must have had about twenty boxes in her trolley!!

I need to go and chase another missing prescription and the lens in DH's new glasses fell out, so that needs sorted.

Belated congratulations to Grannyfaraway.

I wish you all a pleasant day and a gentle one for those in the sick bay.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I must get up soon as our cleaning ladies will be here bright and early. I have to nip into Oxford later on a wool exchanging errand. I still haven’t taken down the decorations. OH wants to leave them up for a few more days. At some point I have to type up the minutes from
Last night’s WI meeting, especially as three members were unable to attend and will want to know what was discussed and agreed. Have a good and peaceful day.

Grammaretto Thu 05-Jan-23 07:34:16

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 6°C and dry. U3A walk today so I hope the rain stays off
I caught up with my DC yesterday which buoyed me up and then walked beside the Tweed.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

BlueBalou Thu 05-Jan-23 07:33:23

Good morning everyone from a damp bit of Wiltshire, wasn’t yesterday blustery?
I had a lovely time with my friend (haven’t seen her for a number of years), so good to catch up. Sadly her DH is very poorly, he and my DH were friends as children.
I completely overdid it in the afternoon hauling a load of logs into the wood store, stupid I know, a consequence of which was a poor night 🙄. At least we have plenty of wood now.
DD is coming today, it’ll be chaotic with the two dogs - they play nonstop every time they meet.
Art group this afternoon, I’m looking forward to it.
Let’s hope the sun comes out today! Heaven knows it’s rained enough now!

Susan56 Thu 05-Jan-23 07:32:05

Good morning from Shropshire.

I am going to Cheshire Oaks today with DD1 and DGD today.I am not a great shopper these days but there are a couple of things I would like and DGD needs new school shoes. Her feet have grown in the eight weeks since she had the last ones.DH will stay at home and look after H which will suit them both.

DD2 seems to be feeling slightly better.Thank goodness for antibiotics.B had a good day at school. He had three party invitations. The children have a better social life than us!

Hoping all unwell are starting to feel better. There are some awful viruses doing the rounds.I hope your DS in China is feeling better Shazza.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a mild Colchester where the sun is about to rise behind wispy clouds. Yesterday was very warm but windy.
Grocery shopping, bed change and laundry is today's plan. I'll have to work round DH who is almost over his cold but milking it for sympathy.
Love to all 🦩 x
