Good Morning Everyone,
its dark but dry here in brackley this morning.
Todays plans a small local shop later , I was due a parcel today , but have now been told a Saturday delivery by Amazon .
I wished I had paid a charge and got it delivered to my local Waitrose.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone.
I have the day to myself although I must iron a few bits.
Will probably spend the day crafting in some way.
Out for dinner tonight with a lovely group of ‘girls’. Our ages vary from 30s to 70s and we always have a fun time together.
Wishing you all the best day possible

aggie Fri 06-Jan-23 08:37:46

Good Morning from a dark breezy Co Armagh, we are promised lots of rain , yet again
Daughter in laws mother is in hospital after a fall , ambulance took 7 hours to get to her . After a hip repair she now can’t stand and needs to be hoisted . We don’t think lying on the floor for 7 hours , then waiting two days for surgery , has helped
Hope you hold up ok to the day Ann and the meds are sorted Marydoll

Grandmabatty Fri 06-Jan-23 08:35:25

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and very windy. It looks dry though. Marydoll I hope you can get your meds sourced. It's a worry. Annsixty and Urms fingers crossed for positive outcomes at the hospital for your relatives. Shazza lovely photos.
Yesterday was a very quiet day which I thoroughly enjoyed. I pottered about the house. The weather was fairly awful so I wasn't inclined to go anywhere. I made a slow cooker sausage casserole for dinner, using up odds and ends from the fridge and I have enough for tonight too.
Today I'll get the washings done and saunter to Aldi for bread and a few bits and pieces. Apart from that, it'll be another quiet day. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Shropshire.A dry day is forecast.

I am just enjoying a cup of tea in bed, the calm before the storm.DGD and H will be arriving late morning for a 48 hour stay.

We had a successful trip,to Cheshire Oaks yesterday calling at TKMaxx on the way home.I got everything on my list 🥳

I hope the hospital appointments go well for Ann’s granddaughter and Urms stepfather.

Mary, I hope you get an appointment to speak to your GP and that you can avoid A and E💐💪🏼

Have the best day you can everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 06-Jan-23 08:30:41

Oh Marydoll I will hold you in my thoughts with everything crossed, and a little prayer 🌸🌸

Ursstongran I hope the blood transfusion for your dear step-father goes well. In our local hospitals there is a small ward we’re those take place, no one is allowed in to sit with with the patient, it they do provide hot drinks and snacks for them. I will be thinking of him 🥃

Alygran Fri 06-Jan-23 08:26:51

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sky is just getting red on the horizon. It’s going to be a mild, dry day.
Off to town this morning then lunch with some friends.
Hope the hospital visit goes well Ann and that you get sorted Mary.
Have a good day everyone

Morning everyone. Up early again workmen here today. Yesterday they cut holes in all the ceilings. What a mess! Plaster dust every where. Hoping the plasterer will come today then painter on Monday. I don't often message on here but l do read all your doings every day.
Getting light now in Sherwood. Off to the hairdressers in Mansfield hope the work men behave whilst I am out. Won't be back until teatime. I do not want to return home to a mess. At least it's dry here l hope everyone has the best day they can.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 06-Jan-23 08:20:19

A quick good morning

Just had a phone call from DD, The Imp isn’t at pre-school until next week we knew we were minding him today, now his 7yr old brother has got the virus which they have all had. All plans changed as A will now be laying in our bed being waited on, whilst Grandpa keeps The Imp occupied in the playroom.

Planning whilst being a grandparent is a waste of time 🤣🤣🤣

I will be back to read your posts later…

brook2704 Fri 06-Jan-23 08:17:15

Good morning everyone from a cold and windy Inverness with rain in the forecast too
Hoping all goes well today for your stepfather Urms and also thinking of you too marydoll
I had a good day yesterday, lots of cleaning and tidying done and I even managed a couple of hours outside in the garden clearing up leaves. Today I’m looking forward to taking DGD swimming at the gym, I’ll have to go in early so we’re finished well before the Aqua class starts.
Thank you for the lovely photos Shazza and enjoy your day today. I’ll definitely have to visit Madeira one day
Have a lovely day sago!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

ShazzaKanazza Fri 06-Jan-23 08:03:01

Have a lovely time with your family Sago. 🎉
It’s tomorrow Grandmadinosaur xx
Lots of love Marydoll 💐

MD hope you get the support you deserve. Our local pharmacy had the most amazing pharmacist and has been so supportive over the last couple of years. He has recently retired sadly and it was chaos in there yesterday.

NannyJan53 Fri 06-Jan-23 08:00:55

Good morning from a fairly mild Black Country.

Off to Mums today, as she has a visit from her private hearing aid company, returning a faulty aid. It is best that I am there.

Had a look round Merry Hill yesterday, but didn't buy much. I think I am getting too fussy smile

Hoping all goes well today with your DSF Urms . It does seem madness to have to travel so far, and as you say not very green is it?

Glad you had a good birthday Kitty. This year I turn 70 and I just cannot get my head around that.

Fingers crossed for your Marydoll, you don't need all this hassle and upset flowers

Gingster Fri 06-Jan-23 08:00:22

Good morning all and it’s dry and calm here in Essex.

Nothing on today as our Friday lunch gathering has been cancelled due to others commitments. We might take a trip to Hyde Hall RHS for our first visit of the year. It’s pretty dreary everywhere , so we might leave it for now. 🤔. See how we feel.

Hope all goes well with appointments and phone calls.
Take care all.

Good morning from a dark Leicestershire.

We are driving to London today to stay with DD. It was arranged ages ago as we are going to see a show tomorrow.
I suspect it all to be a challenge with the strikes so wish us luck.

Pleased your day went well kitty.
Loving the pics of Madeira, we have been several times.
Sorry to hear you are not well Marydoll and I hope all hospital visits go well.

Pittcity Fri 06-Jan-23 07:58:42

Good morning from a dawning Colchester. A dry day after a rainy night and a couple of degrees cooler than yesterday.
I slept badly last night. Hope I'm not coming down with anything.
No plans today so I'll take it easy.
Love to all 🦩 x

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 06-Jan-23 07:57:17

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed so haven’t peeked through the curtains yet. I hope all goes well today Urms. I must chase up my monthly prescription. I sent it to the Health Centre on 19 December and have heard nothing. I ran out of statins a couple of days ago. OH sent his request the same day as me and it was ready earlier this week. I should finish typing up the shorthand notes from Wednesday’s WI meeting. There’s also a stack of ironing. It’s OH’s turn to cook so I shall spend the rest of the day reading or getting on with my latest knitting project - a tunic style jumper. Have a good day.

SusieB50 Fri 06-Jan-23 07:52:56

Good morning from E London , a beautiful sunrise again . It must be very mild as the heating hasn’t come on . I’m up early for my Osteopath appointment . My back is seriously uncomfortable. Can’t go back to swimming yet following my cataract op.
DS is returning today to continue stripping down some old folding doors they are going to use in their loft extension. They have no room at their house with builders all over the place and DiL works at home so the noise would be a problem. My small bedroom is being renovated back into a bedroom from being late DH ‘s study/ work room , so he is using that with the promise of finishing it off afterwards!
Taking down the Christmas decorations and making a vegetable curry in my slow cooker is my plan today. My nearby friend’s slow cooker has packed up and she can’t get a replacement anywhere. So we are going to share mine .We will have to have a rota !

karmalady Fri 06-Jan-23 07:49:52

Marydoll, hang in there flowers

karmalady Fri 06-Jan-23 07:47:17

Good morning, loud rain battering the windows during the night.

I have to check tyre pressures today as I am off to wales tomorrow. It will be a return journey so I am leaving at first light and will be back before sundown

I looked at my octopus energy use data this morning and gas use is down 55% since last week. I am pleased, reducing thermostat has made a considerable difference as did using my stove for a whole day. It warmed the house and the heat dissipated slowly. Stove is set and I will do another burn early next week

I started to feel like cycling yesterday but don`t like wet ground, there are slippery leaves also my bike gets dirty and gritty. I shall go out as soon as there is a combo of dry and over 10 degrees. I am missing the endorphins, however my 4 ply jumper is growing apace, just 1 1/2 sleeves left to knit

Another extra 2 minutes of light per day, soon it will be 3 minutes and it is starting to add up

J52 Fri 06-Jan-23 07:45:49

Good morning everyone. I don’t often come onto this thread, I tend to read more than post. I’d would like to thank everyone for the kind birthday wishes.
I hope you all have a really good day, especially those with health concerns and worries.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 06-Jan-23 07:43:11

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It was a very bright moon I noticed when I was awake at 5 am.

Had a good day decluttering, tidying etc yesterday. I took a bag of shoes to the charity shop and some unused tinned stuff to the food bank collection point. This morning I feel shattered as if I’ve run a marathon!

Such lovely photos Shazza and another nice day planned today. I had it in my head today was your big day? Must be wrong.

No plans as such today. I need to wash my hair. I haven’t had my usual blow dry this week as my hairdresser is away for 3 weeks and the owner isn’t opening the salon on Mondays whilst she is away. How I miss her!
If DH and I don’t go out I will meet DS later for a coffee. It will be nice just to chat on our own as it’s not often I get him on his own and I have things I want to speak to him about.

Hoping all goes well for your stepfather today Urms you’re wise to take a book perhaps snacks etc even.

Your Spanish cake sounds delicious GM

Have a good day everyone.

Sago Fri 06-Jan-23 07:41:28

Good morning from East Yorkshire.
Exciting day for me today, we are going to have a belated Christmas with our daughter, SIL and grandchildren.
They were abroad for the festivities, so we have crackers, gifts, champagne and a turkey to take to Cheshire.
I cannot wait.
Have a happy Friday all.

Gala Fri 06-Jan-23 07:36:51

Good morning from Sefton. Still very wet underfoot from last nights downpour.
A quiet day ahead. No plans apart from my zoom exercise class & a food shop.
Take care all.

Marydoll Fri 06-Jan-23 07:32:18

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow. Its currently 7°C

I'm counting the minutes until 8am to phone my GP. However, I expect him to be as dismissive as usual.
I had a severe angina attack last night, which has left me very breathless and anxious. Praying its just a blip.
Being CEV and immunocompromised, I'm doing everything possible to avoid A&E, after my last traumatic visit, having had a second heart attack.

To add to my worries, the pharmacy informed me yesterday, that once again they are unable to source one of my heart meds anywhere.
How did the NHS get in this terrible state?

For those who have appointments today, I hope they go well and that those in the sick bay are making progress.

kittylester Fri 06-Jan-23 07:20:37

Good morning all from a dark and chilly North Leicestershire.

Many thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday. I had a lovely, but very tiring day. I had lots of hugs and good wishes from the attendees at the Dementia Cafe, a lovely visit from DS2 and lots of lovely presents.

Today, I going to the butcher's rather than ringing for a delivery and then hoping to sit down and recover from becoming 74.
