Energy Rebate

I am in the very fortunate position of being on a fixed energy rate. My direct debit is less than the government help. Each month I have had my direct debit returned but there is ‘change’, should I be asking for this or does it go to the energy provider? Scottish Power in this case.

It goes to the energy provider. You are exceptionally fortunate if your energy bills are lower than the amount provided by the government. Be a little more profligate with the electricity because you won’t get ‘change’.

It’s the same here. We are on a fixed rate and out usage is just a bit less than the government help. We were given a couple of free months and a refund of some money. Now we pay just a £1 per month by dad. October it will change when we come off the fixed rate.

Scottish Power are crediting the difference to your account. They only return the cash you have paid them. You still get the full benefit of entire rebate.
