Good morning from Shropshire.

I was so tired after we had dropped the children off yesterday that after cleaning the house I went to bed for a few hours.I hope your day isn’t too tiring today Grandmabatty.

Today I will do everything I meant to do yesterday and then hopefully a restful afternoon. We have an early start tomorrrow to drive over to Cheshire to take mum to her appointment at the memory clinic.I feel anxious, stressed and sad about it in equal measures and am worried about what the future holds for her😢

Urms I hope your stepfathers appointment goes well and that a cause and solution to the problem can be found.

Thinking of all unwell and those with worries and struggles.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning all and it’s quite bright and calm out there.

Yesterday was busy with visitors - db and SIL came for coffee and cake (and a glass of Sherry). DIL is on the border of being diabetic and had really gone all out to avoid becoming one. She always refuses anything that has sugar in. Yesterday she said ‘I’m done with that! And proceeded to have cake AND a glass of Sherry and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was lovely to see it! Being paranoid isn’t a happy place to be in.

Dd and little DGD came for lunch and then ds1 , DIL and one gd came for a cuppa. Nice to see everyone. ❤️.

Today I have my chimes group which will be fun, followed by coffee . The washing machine repair man will be coming this afternoon to , at last, fix the problem. Iv e been without since before Christmas. 😤.

Lots of busyness going on today with grans , so I hope all goes well for everyone. 🤞

Good morning from a so far dry and bright Suffolk. What a warm and friendly bunch you are. Thank you for your messages of welcome yesterday. I haven’t read your messages yet but will do so after I’ve made our first cuppas. I often look back at how much I’ve slowed down over the years in terms of the morning routine. DH used to go to London on Mondays and Fridays leaving on an early train and I would milk our 2 goats, walk the 2 dogs, get the children up and get the eldest and then the others to the local railway station a few miles away for the 7.40am train to school. Now it takes me all that time to get myself together enough to put the kettle on!
We had a lovely day with 2 of our ACs,their spouses and 6 GCs. In spite of predictions the weather was sunny and perfect for a beach walk and takeaway coffee. Today I’m meeting a friend from my keep fit class again at the seaside so hope for a stroll on the prom. Hope today brings smiles for all and some relief for those with worries.

SunshineSally Mon 09-Jan-23 08:19:35

Good morning Mick and everyone from an overcast south Hants.
Yesterday’s weather was horrible - wet and windy. A soggy dog walk was about as much as we managed!
Housework and some admin planned for today.
Haven’t read the posts yet - just about to get my morning cappuccino and settle down to read them.
Have the best day you can. Thinking of those unwell and those with worries 🦩🦩🦩
Hugs and 🌻🌻 for you all x

Greyduster Mon 09-Jan-23 08:16:07

Good morning, Michaela and all GNs. A dry start to the South Yorkshire weather - it was just getting light at the front of the house when I got up to make my coffee and the moon was still bright at the back! Now there’s a lovely sunrise. I woke up feeling as if I had gone five rounds with an all-in wrestler but I’m sure a hot shower will sort that out. I am going to bake today - there is a bit of a cake famine going on here. I will also get out for my usual walk, but the other way round today - change of scenery🙄!
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from Harrogate- cannot see the weather but believe it’s dry.
Sorry you are not feeling so good these days Marydoll, hope your cardiologist can find the answer.
Hope your DSF gets that problem sorted, it sounds very tiring Urms He’s lucky he has you to help him.
Glad you managed your church service GrandMattie, as others have said - it will get easier.
I, too, got to church yesterday- it was packed because it was two churches together.
Have the best day possible folks

Grammaretto Mon 09-Jan-23 08:05:48

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I'm still on holiday time so still in bed but it looks dreich and barely light outside.
U3A history group today but before that I'm joining a work party to clear the local art centre which has suffered from dreadful water damage.
Well done gMattie on your braving church but also the knitting!
Good luck Marydoll and for your SF Urms
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Madeira.
We all leave this beautiful island today. We will have a leisurely breakfast and then pack. The two families are being picked up at 12 we are all flying off to different airports. DH and I aren’t being picked up until 4-45 so we will go for a walk and have a long late lunch. I expect we will get home if thinks go well by 3am.

Yesterday we all had a walk down into Funchal to take photos and walked back. DH and I are talking about possibly coming back for the same time next year.

Grandmachrisy47 hope you find out what happened in your left eye but hope it was just a one off event. 💐

Urms best wishes to your SF for his appointment today.

Wishing everyone a lovely Monday. Thoughts to those ill or stressed. 🌻✈️
A few views from Funchal xx

Good morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

I haven’t read the thread yet so I hope all is well with everyone and that those who are under par have a better day.

Off to work now, first day back since the 21st December and it’s a bit of an effort I must say.

We had a lovely overnight with DD’s children, they were so helpful and kind to one another, it was a real pleasure. I do realise that we were seeing the best version of them as, like most siblings, they can have their squabbles.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 09-Jan-23 07:55:43

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It is 3 degrees and dry.

A quiet day here yesterday just pottering. Made a couple of calls including a long one to my friend in Beverley. We hope to meet up soon.

Today I want to get out for a walk. No hair appt my hairdresser is still away. I might suggest we have GD for a few hours.

I loved your photos of the Madeira Christmas lights shazza I hope you enjoy what’s left of your holiday and have a safe journey home.

Well done GM you’ve done the hardest part.

That sounds a worry for you GrandmaChrissy hope you get some answers today.

Hoping all goes well for your SF Urms DH was catching up on Corrie yesterday. I was reading but my ears pricked up when someone on there said about a woman she’d met from Urmston!

Have a good day everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 09-Jan-23 07:52:42

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Still in bed but I should be up soon. A Waitrose trip this morning and I’m also picking up a parcel. My friend over the road has her monthly craft afternoon today. So I will go over with my latest knitting project and a cake. Raspberry and yogurt loaf with a lemon icing. OH will make a start on dismantling the wardrobe in younger son’s old room. When he takes it to the local tip he will ask about getting rid of cans of paint. We have a multitude of cans cluttering up the garage. I hope all goes well at the hospital Urms. Have a good day.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 09-Jan-23 07:47:42

Good morning Mick and everybody, wet overnight but the sky looks clear now in Oxfordshire.
I spent another afternoon ‘having a clear out’ but honestly I’m just moving stuff around and dusting it!. Oh well at least it’s all clean, once the house is clear of Ukraine boxes, I’ll have another think. Do I really need 8 suitcases? No, but………
MrOops is recovering from a chest infection, but although the antibiotics have finished he doesn’t seem to be any better and keeps falling asleep, I’ll give it until Wednesday and if he’s no better I’ll get him to call the GP.

MissOops is on her way with the dog for our dog sitting day, let’s hope the sun shines.

Hope everyone dealing with health worries, for them and their family get some answers and some respite today. Virtual hugs for those in need of cheering up.

brook2704 Mon 09-Jan-23 07:44:43

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s only about 4º but a lot less windy than yesterday
I’m off to the gym this morning for a Zumba class and then I’ll have a dip in the pool. That’ll keep me busy this morning and then I’ve still got lots of cleaning to do later
Hoping your DSF gets some helpful treatment today Urms and hoping all is ok with your eye grandmachristie, good that you got to see someone yesterday though
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Marydoll Mon 09-Jan-23 07:41:11

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where its 5°C.

Nothing to report, yesterday was a non day, as will be today, I'm not able to do much at the moment. It's so frustrating.
I did receive a video call from wee Dollie, which gave me such a boost.
Today, the lovely GP I saw on Friday, will email the cardiologist with all my details, so fingers crossed, that he can help me.

I hope all goes well with your SF's appointment Urms and a resolution is found.
You have taken the first steps GM, so onwards and upwards.

Wishing you all a pleasant day.

hollysteers Mon 09-Jan-23 07:33:27

Good morning Mick and all from a dark, cold northwest Lancashire coast.
Another night of cramp and little sleep, listening to the radio..
Last night to local folk club for the first time and enjoyed it, knowing a few people from my Tuesday music club. A variety of music in a handsome building. I didn’t sing myself as thought I would get the measure of it before doing so some time in the future. Came home and enjoyed a couple of lamb chops and mash as hadn’t eaten much earlier.
Long face time with DD in the south. She is in the process of selling her flat here and has many frustrating delays.
I’m looking forward to some sleep sometime!
Hope you all have the best day you can.

NannyJan53 Mon 09-Jan-23 07:30:23

Good morning from a dark and dull Black Country, not opened curtains yet.

Up early to prepare veg and simmer chicken for soup. It usually lasts us until Thursday for our lunches.

Monday morning walk, then chill this afternoon.

Fingers crossed for you Grandmachrisy that the eye problem will be sorted.

Have a lovely day everyone

cornergran Mon 09-Jan-23 07:30:12

Good luck to you all urms, especially your stepfather who must be exhausted.

cornergran Mon 09-Jan-23 07:29:08

Morning Mick, morning All. Hard to see detail but it looks as if there has been overnight rain. Forecast is for an almost dry day.

Did little yesterday which may account for the lack of sleep. Still awake at 3am, thank goodness for books on the iPad and ear buds to listen to radio.

Mr C would like to go out for breakfast. Blame a garden centre snd half price vouchers. Hopeful for a walk later. I should attend a Zoom training this evening. Doesn’t start until 7.30. I may be awake, on the other hand!

Take care everyone. Hope Monday is gentle with us all.

Urmstongran Mon 09-Jan-23 07:26:44

No Matt = Monday

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s raining but seems mild enough. Alexa says it’s 5°C at present. It’s dark and miserable.

We are up to take my stepfather back to Wythenshawe hospital. This time he has an urgent ENT appointment. I fervently hope they can come up with a reason for his nocturnal nose bleeds because the poor man cannot carry on like this for much longer. This has been happening since Boxing Day night.

If we are back in time we will be taking the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss o their swimming lessons after school. If not their mum will have to do it. Oh, the 7:20am train has just pulled into Platform 2 heading for Liverpool Lime Street at the station across the road. I’d forgotten what they look like.

Have a good Monday if you can. x

kittylester Mon 09-Jan-23 07:25:03

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it is now 4° and we also have signs of overnight rain.

Today DH is off to the gym and I am helping deliver a zoom Carer Learning session for the Carers of people living with dementia. It's great to be getting back to normal.

We had a lovely weekend with most of the family - we rarely get a full complement nowadays as the dgc get older - but there were still 16 of us.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Beechnut Mon 09-Jan-23 07:22:32

Good morning everyone from Severnside.

A day of pottering for me and I’ll make a slow cooker meal.

Hope you all have a good day whatever you do 🪷
