Susan thank you. Dgs1 is at nursery and was so excited to see all his friends. Dgs2 is currently napping. I'm going to empty the dishwasher. I hope your visit to the memory clinic with your mum gives some support to her and to you. I'll be thinking of you.

Good morning from coastal West Sussex. Sunshine and high cloud here but rain on its way from the west!

I am enjoying a gentle morning with the house to myself. Saturday was DGDs 4th birthday party and we had a dozen 3 & 4 year olds and a bouncy castle in a local community centre. All went well - it’s good when parents are still with them 🙂. I slept for 2 hours after lunch though - I think it’s the noise level - and standing around for 2 hours, setting out food etc.

Shazza hope you have a good journey home. I will miss the lovely photos of Madeira.

Ladyleftfieldlover that raspberry and yogurt loaf sounds good.

Liberty your ‘slowed down mornings’ made me smile - we had livestock and young children for a few years before we became ‘townies’ again.

Susan, I hope, whatever the outcome for your mother, you will at least have more information to help her, and you, plan for the future.

Oops my daughter is recovering from a chest infection and had to have a second lot of antibiotics. She is beginning to feel better, having finished them.

Oh dear, it’s very late and I have done very little. Will put on a washing and do a quick tidy up before Tai Chi session.

NannyJan DH tried to book on line for me but they weren't making any.

NannyJan53 Mon 09-Jan-23 11:03:18

That is so annoying monk. At our Doctors now you can go online at certain times to get appointments...you have to be quick and go on bang on that time, as they quickly fill up. I managed to get one last week for tomorrow.

monk08 Mon 09-Jan-23 10:54:39

Well done on getting Drs appt hulahoop I rang at 8am it was 8.30 before they answered I was 22nd in queue, when I finally spoke to someone there were no appts and you can no longer pre book only taking appts on a daily basis told to ring back tomorrow or go to walk in centre next to A&E.

Grandmachrisy47 Mon 09-Jan-23 10:07:42

Thank you for your kind thoughts.
Quick update. Rang my optician and was told I need to go to SpecSavers as they run the MECS system. I thought it would have made sense to see my own optician as they have my records Rang SpecSavers and got an appointment today at 1.15pm. Ocular migraine had never crossed my mind!
Hope marydoll is feeling better and Urms dsf is sorted out.

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Quiet day yesterday and too much television I think. I have to pop into town today to collect a prescription and restock on Chamomile.
I hope the hospital do something Urms and Marydoll hears something as well.
BlueBalou hope the wait doesn't turn out to be all day.
Best wishes to all

BlueBalou Mon 09-Jan-23 09:33:20

A brighter start here in Wiltshire today, the window cleaner has been so that’ll make it rain!
Up very early again, I don’t seem to be able to sleep beyond 4am., no idea why.
Started tidying up a bit, DD and her DDog are still here, going later, so it’s all in a bit of a muddle. I have sorted out what I need to take to crafts tomorrow, I want to slightly rearrange the bedroom and I need to fill a bag of surplus yarn to give to a friend.
I have a GP telephone consultation sometime today so can’t go out - apparently it can be between 8am and 6.30pm 🙄😊

Good morning from another bright breezy day in Co Armagh
Quiet day yesterday , I still haven’t managed to get back to Sunday Mass but walked up to the Chapel with my Daughter yesterday , I had to leave my walker outside, only half the door was open it’s being refurbished and is very calm and refreshing to visit as it’s nearly finished
My DIL had an agitated call from her brother , her Mum was being moved out of the main hospital to a rehab unit even tho they visited the evening before and were reassured that there would be no move till her IV Antibiotics were finished . They are taking time off work to talk to someone today
I am walking very carefully, I don’t want to be in poor ladies position
Grocery shopping today and hope to find where I can get rid of a bag of dud batteries
I’m promised a visit to the Range to look for a frame for my latest masterpiece!
I get those ocular migraine lights , scared the life out of me the first few times !
Thinking of harrigran have you had the GP check out your shoulder , it sounds very debilitating, I hope you get some help Marydoll , and urms DSF too

GrannySomerset Mon 09-Jan-23 09:15:40

Bright sunshine at present which is encouraging. Am hosting a book group this afternoon so must get organised for that and think I will use the nice china which can’t go in the dishwasher - it rarely sees daylight, which is a shame.

So sorry that Marydoll still feels so unwell and hope her GP is successful in getting someone to take serious notice of her problems. Hope too that Urmston’s DSF has a satisfactory hospital visit and that everyone has a good day.

Nannagarra Mon 09-Jan-23 09:08:17

Sending best wishes to everyone.

Good morning from East London and another bright start . It always starts well and then by the afternoon it’s all downhill. I hope all those with health problems get sorted out today , your SF Urms must be exhausted. MD fingers crossed you get deserved help from the Cardiologist . GrandmaChrissy always worrying when you have eye problems, I have spent hours in Moorfields A+E with a recurrent eye problem.
Yesterday was very quiet. I had a FaceTime with my DD and family who moved to Norfolk 18 months ago . Still miss them being 20 minutes away . Lucky though to have DS and family nearby.

EkwaNimitee Mon 09-Jan-23 08:55:09

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a rather cloudy Carlisle where it may well be a showery day.
Yesterday was much the same and I had a quiet day in reading and catching up with admin. Today is a housework and laundry morning and the afternoon depends on what the weather is doing..I'd like to be pottering in the garden. Where the first snowdrops are out.

Grandmachrisy, as dragonfly says, this sounds like ocular migraine. After a lifetime of common migraine, I now get this on occasion...an arc of glittering zigzag lines in various colours which lasts 10 to 20 minutes and then suddenly disappears. Apparently nothing to worry about but, yes, you should get checked out. Which reminds me that I am overdue at the optician's myself.

Wishing everyone the best day possible especially hoping Urmston that your DSF is promptly sorted.

Wyllow3 Mon 09-Jan-23 08:44:41

Good Morning from S Yorks where the sky is grey with a purplish tinge, so who knows what he weather will be?

Sympathes for poorlies and family poor lies, eyes and ENT visits, hoping you'll find out the "why". Well done you, Grandmattie

Its a day without anything in the diary, so its a maybe for the gym depending on energy levels. Yesterday Quakers was lovely and I went to the gym too. (I don't go to a class, do my yoga alone, so anytime is OK.)

Or I might tackle the pile of unsorted "to file". Always leave them far too long despite good resolutions to file immediately.

Best days, all.

dragonfly46 Mon 09-Jan-23 08:35:34

Good morning from a brighter SE London. Hopefully this is the last time we will be here as DD and SiL get the keys to their new house on Thursday.

Driving home today ahead of a busy week.

Hoping those who are under the weather feel better today.
Sounds like you have ocular migraine Grandmachrisy I get it from time to time. It is worth getting it checked out though. One attack affected my speech for a short time so had to have lots of tests at the hospital.

Taichinan Mon 09-Jan-23 08:32:28

Good morning all. Still 45 minutes until sun up but it looks as if there might be broken cloud. The moon is still bright though - the Wolf moon, this one has been.
I'm up early because I have a tai chi committee meeting at 10am, but I had another night of hardly any sleep which I decided was because I was too hot under the winter downie. So 4.30 saw me up and changing the bed. When I woke at 7am I was too cold! I was also worried I'd sleep through the alarm so as soon as I heard it I got out of bed and got going. Then the alarm went off - I'd dreamed it had gone off earlier! None of this bodes well for today.
I'm so glad your attendance at church went off OK grandmattie yesterday - those first little steps are so hard. And sorry your DSF is still having problems Urms. I had nose bleeds like that a good few years ago and ended up being taken to hospital by ambulance, kept in overnight, and had it cauterised the next morning. There have been no problems since 🤞. Kalu I developed plantar fascitis a few years ago (a year pre-covid I think) and bought some very expensive trainers designed to help the condition. I wore them morning to night for three years and have had no more trouble, and the trainers are still going strong - worth the money!
Now I must be off and get some clothes on and hang the washing out - bedding this time. Yesterday's laundry came in dry off the line even though there had been showers on and off all day, so 🤞
Have a good day everyone - and I hope your GP has a good follow-through Marydoll.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s dry and bright this morning.
I am helping to host our village warm space today. It’s the second trial day. It was someone else’s idea but it’s not clear it is really needed.
After that I shall go for a walk. Back to the 10,000 steps a day challenge with DD2.
Have a good day everyone.
