Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry at the moment here in brackley this morning.
Today another trip to Bicester on the bus , I have3 also taken advantage of the £2 single fare before the 0930 Bus Pass time a saving on the original route fare.
Then general tidy up and some shredding later.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from N Bucks where as Ginny says, the heavens have opened.
No real plans today except to sort out some baby clothes for a van going to a Ukrainian orphanage next week. I have boxes and boxes, all labelled by age/gender(where appropriate) by my efficient D and dumped on mum to keep in the loft in case any of her younger sisters wanted anything! Clearly nobody did as they are still there - or perhaps they did and returned them once outgrown - but anyway I shall be happy to see them go to a good home!
Urmstongran my heart goes out to you, TG your stepfather has you to depend on, it is all so depressing and how people who have nobody manage, is beyond me. Food for thought for the future sad
With hopes that today is kind to us all.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Today I will be mostly clearing out the chest of drawers in younger son’s old bedroom. It contains mostly games. OH will then chop it up and take it to the tip. I’m expecting two parcels today and possibly a trip to Oxford. I also intend ringing the Home where my 90 year old aunt has been moved to, about visiting her. She has double dementia and osteoporosis and won’t know me. She’s the only person left on this earth who knew me as a baby. She carried me home from the maternity hospital. But I would like to visit and will check visiting times etc. Have a good day.

Good morning from a wet Leicestershire.

Must pop to Sainsbury as Book Group is here this evening and I need snacks and biscuits.
Will then have to clean the house as my cleaner is still ill, take the car in for service tomorrow then go to dentist as a tooth sheared off while I was away. Fortunately I have a lovely dentist.

Great news you are so much better Ash and I can see you are gearing up for your move GrandMattie.
My thoughts too are with Urms.

Good morning all. It is also somewhat inclement in my bit of Sefton Nannagarra but that wasn't the word my DH used when he looked out of the window! He's off to dig out his galoshes & sou'wester in the hope of persuading a very reluctant greyhound that its time for a 'lovely walk'. I had to look up 'Kalettes' - I dislike kale but love sprouts so might try that next time we're in Waitrose. It sounds an interesting mix.
I investigated my local WI last night & discovered some familiar faces from our singing group. I had a really pleasant evening. What a shame grandMattie you no longer enjoy your meetings.

annsixty Tue 10-Jan-23 08:28:31

Good morning from Stockport which once again is wet, when will it end?
My outside Christmas lights are still out waiting for a dry day for my S to take them down and pack away.
I did very little (again) yesterday apart from my mobile hairdresser coming to cut my hair.
It was nice to chat to someone different.
Some cooking today as I have mince and chicken breasts in the fridge waiting to be transformed into meals, some for the freezer.
Best wishes to poorly ones and have the best day you can.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Dark and wet here.
Off to meet a friend for coffee this morning then a bit of grocery shopping.
Hoping it fairs up a bit later so I can get out for a walk.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from dark Harrogate
Belated birthday greetings Lauranorderr hope you had a good day.
It’s encouraging hearing how well you are after your surgery Ashcombe. There is talk of surgery for me when I’ve seen a reluctant cardiologist to see if I’m fit enough for it.
I’m sure your WI group dont intend to be unfriendly GrandMattie give it time.
Have the best day possible folks

karmalady Tue 10-Jan-23 08:09:41

Good morning from rain in S Hampshire and 5, alarm went as MrJ is working,
I was back on the voluntary phones yesterday, didn’t remember until about 11 after a couple of weeks shutdown!
First quiz of 2023 last night in our local, lots of new faces, a fun evening, no prizes for us though.
Today hob and oven to clean, I’ve done the ensuite before coming downstairs.
Great progress Ashcombe you must be pleased.
gMattie you sound slightly down, I hope today there’s some cheer for you.
Best wishes to those poorly or sad, May you all find a 🦩🦩today.

Good morning from a dark wet Co Armagh
I’m up early to put the slow cooker for a batch of stew , most will go in the freezer
DGD is booked in here for an hour or so , I haven’t had the GC after school for years , but now other Granny is in hospital I’m on duty , DGD is a delightful child , in her last year of primary school so she will probably mind me !
Still thinking of our poorly and troubled friends on the forum xxx

Georgesgran Tue 10-Jan-23 07:53:10

Good morning from Durham. A very disturbed night - awake every couple of hours. It’s still totally dark here - hard to believe it’s nearly 8am and it’s raining!
Feeling a bit flat at the moment.
Will read later to see how MD and Urms are.
Best wishes to all. X

brook2704 Tue 10-Jan-23 07:51:02

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a cold and showery day forecast
I’m helping to look after the DGC today, like grandmabatty says there’s a primary school strike here today so they’re both off school. They only went back yesterday too. Later today DGD has her dance class followed by choir, theses activities are still running so at least she’ll have something to do today.
So pleased things are going so well for you Ash
Hoping you get a Drs appointment soon monk it must be so frustrating
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

SunshineSally Tue 10-Jan-23 07:47:54

Good morning Mick and all from a dark and wet south Hants.
Lovely to see the sunshine yesterday and we had a lovely though muddy walk with the dog and then a shallow bath when we got home to wash his (the dog’s!) paws, mouth and underbelly. We then stocked up on pet food and sorted the pet cabinet. Admin didn’t get done so will get done today.
A visit to the in-laws today with some groceries that we weren’t able to get the other day is also on the cards - once DGD2 has been taken to school.
Haven’t read the thread yet - but will settle down to read once I’m dressed and have my cappuccino in hand.
Have the best day you can. Thinking of those with worries and illness 🦩🦩🦩
Hugs and 🌻🌻 for you all x

Good morning all from a wet Black country, bin men woke me I do feel for them in this weather.
DH should have been at the hygienist today but cancelled he has a slight cough, not to annoying at the moment but felt it wiser to cancel.
I shall try my Drs surgery again at 8 maybe have better luck today, I did ask the pharmacist about my problem but he said I need to see Dr before he can prescribe anything.
I hope Urms stepfather was sorted yesterday, such a worry for her.
Have the best day that you can and may you all find some ☀️.

Pittcity Tue 10-Jan-23 07:40:09

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Liberty Tue 10-Jan-23 07:38:19

Good morning from what looks like a dry start to my day in Suffolk. It’s an unusually early start today as DH’s car is due at the garage a few miles away for a service. I’ll follow him and then back home for porridge so the day can start properly.

Yesterday was bright and sunny and just right for a stroll along the prom with my friend. Today doesn’t look so promising.

Whatever it is like for you,I hope it is a positive one. I’ll be back later to read your posts.

harrigran Tue 10-Jan-23 07:33:57

Good morning from the NE where it is 4 degrees and raining.
Another disturbed night so was awake early.
Hairdresser coming at 9am so needed to be organised.
Spent yesterday catching up with TV and searching the Internet for holiday cottages, hours and hours and only found one that had all that we were looking for, we are very picky.
Have a good day.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 10-Jan-23 07:31:20

Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire.
It took MzOops and her partner 15 hours to get from Cornwall to where they are staying for 3 days, they arrived exhausted and hungry, so would I !
MissOops and Nephew are at A&E his ‘slipped Disc’ has become more serious and his GP said go to Hospital, let’s hope he gets a scan at the very least, although given what has happened an operation is really what he needs, goodness knows what state he will be in. When it happened to me I was admitted for an op immediately, but times have changed.
Happy Birthday Lauranorder
Good to hear your recovery is going well Ash
As another poster says GM these little things will make it easier for you to move.
I’ll pop back later to see how Marydoll and Urms SF are.

Have a good day everyone, let’s hope our day becomes more cheerful.
