I am sitting by my husband’s bedside in hospital as he has had a heart attack. Next 24 hours are critical.

Hi Marydoll
I live in Aberdeen. The North East of Scotland.
I am lucky enough to live very close to the Sea.
Very beautiful, yet dark and brooding when the mood takes her!!!!
Agnieszka.

Excellent news- enjoy choir it will really help to relieve stress.

Grammaretto Sun 15-Jan-23 13:50:30

That's good news Cabbie . Enjoy your choir this evening.

Marydoll I hope we never have to go through that again. DFiL died all alone during the lockdown, in hospital, with covid just 2 weeks after his son, my DH died of cancer but at least DH was at home with us.

Thank you. I had a positive update earlier this morning. My son is taking me in this afternoon, then I hope to get back in time to sing in church choir tonight if all is well.

Hope your husband is improving, Cabbie.
It's good you got to be with your husband and he is improving..
I had my second heart attack, during the pandemic. I went to hospital alone and never saw my husband until I was discharged , through a fire door to the car park. It was a very lonely and frightening experience.

Agnieszka, where in Scotland are you?
There are many Scottish grans on here.

Cabbie I had a similar experience to yours 2 years ago. At times like this it as important for you to look after yourself as it is to do anything else.

It is a long and slow journey from heart attack, surgery and recovery and it is wearing for the carer as for the invalid and if you are not to join the list of those in need of care, and to be able to do the best for your DH, you must look after yourself, whether it is having a haircut, making sure you eat well or going out go out for a walk every day.

Thank you.
Tommo my husband has just rung me ( must be feeling better! ) and asked for a particular password. I now have access to his whole list! What shall I look into?!!

nadateturbe Sat 14-Jan-23 21:16:37

I, too, will add your husband to my prayer list. 💐

nadateturbe Sat 14-Jan-23 21:14:44

I hope your husband improves soon Cabbie21.
Good idea, going to the hairdresser, not selfish at all.. Getting your hair done gives you a lift.

Bother I have ‘hat hair’ now!)
I get that too SunshineSally.

Ziplok Sat 14-Jan-23 20:34:46

Sending you warm wishes, Cabbie. I hope that your DH is feeling a little better. No, you are not being selfish at all having your hair done. It will give you a little boost and it’s a place where you can unburden yourself and relax a little if you so wish. As others say, it’s important that you care for you, too 💐.

Your English is excellent, Agnieszka.
