What a keffufle. My daughter has a coucher a one day course at end of March. This was a birthday pressie from her siblings for her 50th. It is being held in the University town where her son is, so she thought to make a weekend of it. Asked if I would like to come along for the ride and we could do some sightseeing on the way. As I have a long-time friend in that Uni town, I thought it be an excellent idea for a weekend away for me. Contacred friend for me to be with her whilst daughter is at course.
So far so good. My daughter booked for the one night into a Premier Inn. So, I wanted to book for this also. As I must have a ground floor room (which we know they have - we have stayed there previously), I needed to let them know this. There is no facility with the on-line bookings to make any special requests at all., or to add any information.
So, I used the phone. First phone all went to reception - where I was told that phone bookings can ONLY be made at the hotel's central reservation number, not at the individual hotel!!! Second phone call, where I pressed 'book a room' just took me back to that same receptionist. She gave me a different number, which I rang, to hear a message to say they were not open at weekends.
Eventually, I made a booking on line. Got the Booking Number, then (again) rang to the hotels receptionist, gave her than number and asked for it to be ensured that I was in a ground floor bedroom, which she did.
So, I have spent nearly an hour on this. Was losing the will to continue. Hope it all works out well.
