So over the years, have tried to make my own candles.not much success.have looked at you tube etc...i always seem to have excess amounts and burnt finger tips... would love to know how to successfully use the leftovers of burnt out candles...without the red finger tipsgrin
Love the fresh linen scent and bought loads of the vigil candles and have excesses now but can't seem to insert the new wick?

I made candles back in the 70s. They can be bought so cheaply now, I really wouldn’t bother. I burn candles every evening during the darker months - the cheap supermarket ones.

I have a wax melt pot so I just put the scented candle ends in that.

That’s what I do . I scrape the remnants out and put it in my wax melt pot

I used to make candles years ago. Never had a problem with the wick. I used to place the wick in the container, then added a tiny amount of wax, which I allowed to set. This secured the wick metal base in the centre of the container. Then I looped the wick round a pencil which rested across the top of the container and poured in the hot wax and allowed to set. Does this help? Hope so. Good luck. shamrock

I should know what a melting pot is but don’t have one.. Are they in shops or online..the cheap fresh linen votive candles produce lovely scent but burn down in middle only so left with squidgy wax which I don’t want to just throw away
